Hi all.
My regular watch get broken so I decided to buy some smartwatch. I bought MN2 because of low price (only cheaper smartwatch is ****ty live view), but it was too thick and had this strange charging cable. So I made it thinner and put miniusb port. There are some pics from creation:
First I disassembled clip, cut off clip mountings and cut out hole for this metal thing for custom straps.

Then I cut out hole for micro usb
soldering...
...and glue
side view of port
The metal thing is going to be a back partition of watch now, so it must be abraded because of battery and vibration motor.
and glued
I painted it with silver paint. It looks that bad because glue was too fresh and I couldn't abrade it. Now it's hard enough but it's on back so I don't care at this moment. Also metal thing got some schratches in progress.
there you can see how thin it is
and how it looks with custom strap
After few days of using I don't like it Waking it up for seeing time is annoying, and what is more important there is no some notifications icon with clock. So if I'd like to see notifications I must wake him up and tap once again to see anything. Taking out phone is faster I'm using it only for running and I can't sold it because of this modifications. Damn my creativity
Sorry for language
Great job on the mod. Pretty badass!

Well after leaving my night stand cluttered for so long I finally decided to clean it up. I have always just had a hat that I would throw my change and keys in and would tuck my ac cord under so that it wouldnt slide away but today I just grew tired of that. You see my wife has this sunglass holder that sits on her vanity with her sunglasses but really just collects dust. So today I decided that I would take ownership and create something to solve my cluttered night stand. I first broke out my drill and took the sunglass holders off only to then countersink the screws that held the wood to the plexi glass. After that I cut a quarter size whole in the top for this jewel to become my new piggy bank(will find myself saving change instead of taking it all the time). After that I added some leg wholes for andy to rest atop the mountain. The next features were towel hooks to hold my phone, ipod touch, keys, and watch. All and all I am pleased with my setup however am going to order some stickers for the wood to make more appealing. So what do you think??

So I was at Compusa today trying out different cases...mostly leather, but I wanted to go cheap. So as I've leaving a lady is repricing everything and this case went from $24.99 to $9.99 on clearance. I grabbed it, threw it on and it fit well. The only thing is the camera hole doesn't line up well. But honestly I could careless.
Check for stores with it in stock. MAKE SURE ITS THE ONE FOR THE IPAD1 NOT IPAD2. Both cases look identical, but it'll say "Ipad", not "Ipad 2". $9.99 only I think for this week on clearance.

The alternative is this one in leather, but at $49...I don't care for it. Plus its a little tight.

Pics of my TP with it.

Thank me if you liked this post!
How much does the case muffle the speakers? I guess you could cut out holes for them.
I wouldnt mind buying one but...
Good lord that is hideous. I'd rather wrap my Touchpad in saran wrap before i put that thing on it.
Yeah it looks pretty 'industrial' to me :-\
Does it let you use the swipe gestures very well?
yeah looks pretty intense but it is a nice alternative to what's out I guess...I am also curious about how well we can swipe...looks like there is a little bit of bezel visible though...
thats an ipad 1 case? why is there a camera hole?

Positive it is for the ambient light sensor.
What about the speakers and headphone jack?
Hey guys, I really need help because I have no idea what to do right now.
A chunk of the microusb slot chipped off and now my phone looks really bad :O
Is there any case that covers this up (ie those $1-2 silicone cases on eBay)? Or is there anywhere I can buy a cheap replacement housing set to fix it?
Here's a picture...

Well, when I bought the phone off my sister, there used to be a crack around that area, so I just ignored it. Today, I took it out of its leather pouch and found that the part was missing
Anyways, thanks for the help. this'll do the trick right?

Yup, just like mine. They can be a pain when pulling it out of your pocket (sticky/rubbery) but I dont put my phone in my pocket.

Awesome. I purchase a blue silicone one for $2.30 off eBay. I hope it'll cover it up because right now if feels like I have OCD (I was thinking that I should sell my captivate on craigslist just because of this little chipped off piece of plastic lol).
Thanks for you help
G'day guys, long time no post
After getting bored with my beloved SGS I hopped on eBay and bought some genuine replacement parts which comprised of the rear battery cover and back chassis.
Replacing the chassis was easier said then done, however, 30 minutes later and a bloody finger and sore thumb I had it off and replaced with the new piece. It looks fantastic and has brought a breath of fresh air into my phone.
I do not have any pictures of the installation though google'ing 'i9000 disassembly' will yield helpful results.
It is interesting to note however that there was a substantial amount of dust under the chassis.
On with the pictures:

What about front? You've got only back cover in white or whole phone?
Looks really good
Yeah what about the front?
Looks awsome anyway i guess
very very nice!

does it fit on galaxy s + (i9001)? I want to buy only back cover from ebay and there are only for i9000. i saw on gsm arena that they have identical dimensions and everything so is something different (on cover)?
Good job
Hello,
Thanks guy. That is very good job realy. that is long working.
It's look nice. I hope, I do like you.
This is different.
I'm sorry for very little English. :crying:
Thanks for all the complements.
vellkan, i only have the rear of the phone modified.
Winamp_zg, i'm pretty confident that it should be compatible. They are pretty much the same devices only apart from the screen, am I right? If you are going to buy one I would advise you to heavily consider purchasing authentic and genuine parts, I've heard that the cheapo ones from Hong Kong don't fit as well as the proper ones do.
Cheers guys
cool !
Today my boyfriend, dad, and I were all trying to save a two day old kitten who was stuck in vinyl siding. Of course, this was a stressful (and very long) ordeal, so I wasn't really paying attention to where I left my phone. During a break from the rescue, my boyfriend found my phone on the ground and said "uh oh." Turns out I had left it on a bar chair outside and this awful bloodhound/shepherd mix drop off made a point to get it and try to chew it to death.
Luckily, I didn't buy a crappy case, and my Inspire 4G is still fully functional and has a few small chew marks and the casing on the bottom bent a little. My Otterbox didn't make it out as great, but it did it's job, and did it well! This dog chews up basketballs and armadillos no problem, so it's a true testament to the quality of this case.
Here are the pictures.

And in case you were wondering about that newborn kitten, it's the topmost one in this picture.

I like mine too, it seems thin but functions very well.
Hmmm I may need to get an otterbox after seeing this. I've had my phone for a year and a half with just a silicone case and no screen protector.
wow i was considering getting this case. this is my next.
