Hey guys, I really need help because I have no idea what to do right now.
A chunk of the microusb slot chipped off and now my phone looks really bad :O
Is there any case that covers this up (ie those $1-2 silicone cases on eBay)? Or is there anywhere I can buy a cheap replacement housing set to fix it?
Here's a picture...

Well, when I bought the phone off my sister, there used to be a crack around that area, so I just ignored it. Today, I took it out of its leather pouch and found that the part was missing
Anyways, thanks for the help. this'll do the trick right?

Yup, just like mine. They can be a pain when pulling it out of your pocket (sticky/rubbery) but I dont put my phone in my pocket.

Awesome. I purchase a blue silicone one for $2.30 off eBay. I hope it'll cover it up because right now if feels like I have OCD (I was thinking that I should sell my captivate on craigslist just because of this little chipped off piece of plastic lol).
Thanks for you help

I remember i saw some replacement on brandoshop, but you're better off sending it for repair, disassembly of a modern phone isn't complicated nowadays, but reassembly is a real pain, i can assure you...
i wonder how much it would cost to get a new front casing?
Take a look at this. There are others a lot more expensive, and HTC do one for about £40. I've seen them going for on average £20 but the one on the link is the cheapest I've seen.
I just replaced the housing, digitizer and buttons on mine.. to all black.
Looks like a totally different phone.

So I was at Compusa today trying out different cases...mostly leather, but I wanted to go cheap. So as I've leaving a lady is repricing everything and this case went from $24.99 to $9.99 on clearance. I grabbed it, threw it on and it fit well. The only thing is the camera hole doesn't line up well. But honestly I could careless.
Check for stores with it in stock. MAKE SURE ITS THE ONE FOR THE IPAD1 NOT IPAD2. Both cases look identical, but it'll say "Ipad", not "Ipad 2". $9.99 only I think for this week on clearance.

The alternative is this one in leather, but at $49...I don't care for it. Plus its a little tight.

Thank me if you liked this post!
How much does the case muffle the speakers? I guess you could cut out holes for them.
I wouldnt mind buying one but...
Good lord that is hideous. I'd rather wrap my Touchpad in saran wrap before i put that thing on it.
Yeah it looks pretty 'industrial' to me :-\
Does it let you use the swipe gestures very well?
yeah looks pretty intense but it is a nice alternative to what's out I guess...I am also curious about how well we can swipe...looks like there is a little bit of bezel visible though...
thats an ipad 1 case? why is there a camera hole?

Positive it is for the ambient light sensor.
What about the speakers and headphone jack?
Today my boyfriend, dad, and I were all trying to save a two day old kitten who was stuck in vinyl siding. Of course, this was a stressful (and very long) ordeal, so I wasn't really paying attention to where I left my phone. During a break from the rescue, my boyfriend found my phone on the ground and said "uh oh." Turns out I had left it on a bar chair outside and this awful bloodhound/shepherd mix drop off made a point to get it and try to chew it to death.
Luckily, I didn't buy a crappy case, and my Inspire 4G is still fully functional and has a few small chew marks and the casing on the bottom bent a little. My Otterbox didn't make it out as great, but it did it's job, and did it well! This dog chews up basketballs and armadillos no problem, so it's a true testament to the quality of this case.
Here are the pictures.

And in case you were wondering about that newborn kitten, it's the topmost one in this picture.

I like mine too, it seems thin but functions very well.
Hmmm I may need to get an otterbox after seeing this. I've had my phone for a year and a half with just a silicone case and no screen protector.
wow i was considering getting this case. this is my next.
Hi all,
Around 2 weeks ago I found the following cover on the internet. It was only $2,40 so I decided to buy it and try it out. I was kinda skeptical to the quality since it was so cheap, but honestly the quality is rather good! I have been using it for a day now and I have to say, for a case this cheap it feels great. It's nice to have in your hands, I personally like the design. Also it has quite a rubbery feel which feels nice in your hands and also helps it laying on slippery surfaces. Also it is flexible, not too much though. I feel like it will definitely protect my phone if I might drop it or anything like that. The only thing I don't like too much is that the hard buttons are also covered by the cover. However this is not that a big deal, they still function nicely.
Here are some pictures of the cover itself.

Here is one of the cover used on the phone
If any of you guys would like to order this here you have a direct link to the cover:http://dx.com/p/protective-soft-tpu-back-cover-case-for-samsung-galaxy-s4-i9500-transparent-201232
This link is for the transparent one I am using, they also have it in black if you prefer that. So if you are looking for a cheap, but good quality cover for your phone I would definitely recommend this one! Also the ordering process is quick, and delivery to Holland only took around 10 days. You also don't have to pay shipping fees so you have a cover for only $2,40. Worth a try right?
For anyone worrying it says GT-I9500, this also fits on the GT-I9505 version since the phones are exactly the same in size etc.
Anybody wanna help a brotha out? At 6'2" my hand and wrist are too big by about 2 links. As it stands I can BARELY fit my hand through and the watch is snug on my wrist.
I looked for spare links online but I couldn't find any. Am I not looking in the right place? Could someone donate a link or two to help me out?
Thanks!
Unless you find additional links, I'm afraid you'll have to buy another band that will fit you wrist.
I expected this problem when I put on the watch the first time. I have rather large wrists too but still have to shorten bands by 2 links. This band was exactly my size so I imagined others might run in to the problem you have.
Good luck
Yeah... I really like then Sony metal strap. I may sell it on eBay to pay for the replacememt.

Sorry, I sold it weeks ago on ebay. I purchased the 24mm Strapcode type II engineer black PVD metal band. Please ignore the white towel lint all over everything, after all they do call me Dusty.

There were 4 people who mentioned that they removed links from their watch. When I posted asking for spare links no one seemed to be willing to give them up, even for a price. Just go buy a metal band instead of wasting your time here waiting for a response.
