[Q] Voice+ and Hangouts Double Messages Switching Between Data and WiFi - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,
I hope someone could point me in the right direction or has experienced this and solved it. I did a search but couldn't find a similar issue.
First, I've experienced this issue on DroidKang, one other ROM which I'm forgetting at the moment, and now SOKP. The Google Voice app is configured to receive messages via the messaging app (Hangouts) and Voice+ is activated (it routes all outgoing SMS/MMS messages using your Google Voice number no matter the messaging app).
- Like the title of the thread, when I switch between WiFi and Data connections, a whole stream of Hangouts SMS messages comes in that I had already received before switching over.
- If I continue that Hangouts SMS conversation for a bit and then switch back, all of those messages from the continued Hangouts SMS conversation will again stream back in.
- I end up having two entries in the Hangouts conversations list, one from the correctly named person, the other from a random number but the SMS text is prefaced by their actual name.
I really like the ability to use Hangouts for SMS but require to use my Google Voice number in order to do so.
I'm not being too hopeful but maybe someone else has experienced this?

Missing Text Messages? Using Google Voice? Check here

The new Google voice app has a option labeled "Notifications via SMS" which disables any form of SMS forwarding to your cellphone in Google Voice, so if you're no longer receiving any text messages from people texting your Google Voice number this is the cause.
As someone who doesn't use the Google Voice Synchronization & Notification system to save battery life, I had disabled all those settings not realizing that this was happening. It probably seems pretty silly, but this could help a few people who are still talking about missing text messages.
Thanks this is happening to my wife's phone.

Urgent help with Google Voice needed please

Hello, coming from the EVO, and now the awesome Nexus-S 4G, I am used to the stock Visual Voicemail that Sprint provides on the EVO's, and with the Nexus I just setup Google Voice. Some issues and questions please.
- My texts are going to the Voice app, not GO SMS anymore ? I only want texts using the GO app, not Google Voice.
- It seems I did use Google Voice like a year ago, and I have a boatload of message popping up from last year, how do I delete all these old voice mail messages ?
- Is there a way for the little Voice app icon, to display a # next to it of unread messages ? Like if I miss a text message it will show a little number 1 at the top corner of the app icon of how many missed texts I have, can the voice icon show that too ?
UPDATE;
I logged into my Google account on my computer, found the settings options, but some things still seem strange ?
My text messages are still going to Google Voice, and not even showing up in my GO SMS text app at all, or even the stock Android messaging, they are only going to Google voice ? I did log into my gmail account on my computer and disabled texts, but it didn't seem to take ?

[Q] Google voice update

So google voice updated today allowing users to pre-fetch voicemail so that you can listen without an internet connection, also, they have given way to group messaging, which i thought we already had on our nexus'
I've been able to put multiple recipients into my text messages since day one, so i don't see this changing anything.
Can someone clarify this?

[Q] When I log out of Hangouts, SMS disappear

Stock Nexus 5 on T-Mobile.
Have somehow gotten into a situation where my SMS and MMS messages in Hangouts disappear from view (in Hangouts) if I log out of Google+/Hangouts. Log in - they appear - log out, they disappear.
Have even tried clearing all MMS and SMS, logging out of Google+/Hangouts, and then restoring the SMS/MMS messages. Nothing. No messages seen (in Hangouts). And then I log back in to Google+/Hangouts, and wham! they reappear.
Somehow, Hangouts has decided that all of my MMS/SMS messages belong in my Google+/Hangouts profile, and if I'm not in that profile, I don't need to see my SMS/MMS (in Hangouts).
[Third-party SMS/MMS apps remain OK, however the messages are messed up - wrong order, SMS show with a blank title line, etc]
What is going on, and how can I fix this?
You probably just have to close it and re-open it (if it's still set as the default SMS app), but the bigger question is...
Why do you keep logging out and back in to Google+/Hangouts?

It is kind of a two part app. a standalone sms app and a sms/hangouts app at the same time. When you are logged into hangouts you are smsing in that part of the app. If you sign out you are not longer in the combined app. You are now in the stand alone version. If you don't use hangouts stay signed out. If you do use hangouts stay signed in. It is kind of "it is what it is" thing. It may change later but for now with this first release for integration that is how it acts.

hangouts is designed to stay logged in... but best way to fix it would be get a MSG app and use that for texts and then log in to hangouts when you want to use it.. Or stay logged into hangouts all the time

Would have understood if new messages I sent from Hangouts had ended up in the 'combined' app. But surprised that my old SMS messages from last week, month and year get hijacked into 'combined app' as soon as I activate SMS functionality within Hangouts, and won't show unless I'm logged in.

Hangouts SMS and GV

So I am sure this been asked before and probably even here. I have looked all over and cannot find an answer. A few weeks ago, I started getting the popup in Hangouts that SMS is moving out of Hangouts and that I need to select a different app for SMS messaging. Google voice texting will still be available.
So here's the thing. I only use Google voice for my number. It is my main phone number. I send and receive texts only from this. If I follow the prompt, it makes me change to a different default text app and breaks my texting functionality. Once I change it, I cannot select Hangouts as my messaging app anymore. I can roll it back to an older version and it fixes it temporarily, but as soon as it updates, the giant obnoxious message comes back.
Surely I am not the only person with this. What are others doing. I have already submitted feedback to Google on this.
Thanks,
B
