After I installed a custom ROM, Pyrana to be exact my tablet wont turn off, but I don't think that is the problem because it happens on every custom ROM, except for legit stock. Any help would be appreciated
Can you be specific?
What happens instead of the tablet powering off?

Sorry about that, when I click turn off it turns off and instantly turns back on
Some further details: The custom rom boots correctly and you can use it? And which recovery are you using?

The ROM (Pyrana Stock Custom) is completely functional, I am using TWRP 2.7.0.0

you sure that the correct rom for your tab.....never heard of pyrana or anything even close to that. i have several tabs p5113/ (2) p5110 and have been here for a while. check into that buddy
edit: yeah I just did a search and came up with nothing on that rom for a p5113
I had a similar issue with Omni last night on a dirty flash over CM11 (being Lazy). Try plugging in the charger and holding the power button for 10sec. The tab should turn off and the charging icon should pop up. Then unplug and tab should be off (I know inconvenient). I would wipe and do a fresh install. Sometimes to power off it takes a few times till the rom settles in on the device.
I am new do this so not too sure but it helped me. Good Luck!
Try hard restart with charger plugged in then remove the charger when u see charging icon on your tab and try to clean install the ROM again... It works on my P-5100 every time.. Btw I have been using Pyrana ROM never experienced such a problem though..

Sounds like left over data, bad download, bad flash, or a combo of those

I'm going to make a shot in the dark and ask if u have uclcl5 installed as ur radio. If so I causes major flash issues for me on a fresh rom install. So much so I have to flash cla4 first, then a new from, then cl5 again to get it to work

sometimes for no reason band corruption occurs. I suggest the following in can
factory reset 3x
format system 3x
wipe dalvik cache 3x
dark side 2x
Odin back stock
reboot twice
Odin can
dark side again
flash custom rom
I had similar problems to you and this looking procedure cured them.
I have the same problem with my fiancée phone which I am on right now. Shuts off and starts repeatedly vibrating on a stock non rooted phone.... I never got around to rooting this phone, unless she did it and didn't tell me.but assuming this isn't rooted what do I do?

Pull the battery plug in the USB cable and put the battery back in. Charge it. Mine did that when the batt died. Wouldn't even charge etc.. gotta trick it into booting then leave it for a while let it charge. Wipe battery stats if your rooted cwm etc...

There are 2 problems
First it shows charging even when I disconnect the charger/USB cable.
Second it is booting only when I am charging, else there is no reaction even if I press the power button forever long.
Other things worth mentioning
It is also not going into recovery mode. It is going into only RAM dump mode.
It is booting only if I press the power button when the battery shows up on the screen while charging when it is off.
Most of the problems I noticed when I removed superuser permissions from all apps.(Actually there were only 2 apps proxydroid and superuser itself in the list)
The phone was rooted android 2.3.7.
I then hard reset it. It is now 2.3.6.
when phone is on it shows charging forever once I start the charging.
Now I was able go into recovery mode when charging.
So I loaded cyanogenmod 7.2 official stable version. But still the battery problem is there

Then I guess it is a hardware problem.. Do show it in Samsung Service center..
However you can once try to use some custom ROM and see if the problem persists.. Or re flash your firmware..

I have the same problem
when i was flashing latest Tiwan Rom, it fails via odin. After it fails it's not going to download mod, recovery mod, no boot screen, it only shows that mark - A PC & a Mobile Phone & a CAUTION mark. like http://www.careace.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/bricked-galaxy-s.png
ITs hard bricked or softbricked, may its hard. HELP
It's not hard bricked. Get to the screen showing PC and mobile device with the working sign.
Load rom to be flashed with Odin connect the tab to the PC on diffrent USB port (or same, experiment with the ports) till Odin detects it (it should be detected easely)
The start the flashing process.
This happend to me in the past and i was able to fix it this way. Best of luck.

I know flash during the wierd screen that you get... Worked for me in the past.
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda app-developers app
your probably gonna get it back to stock in Odin...
happened to me when flashing sungsonic (forgot the 2nd davlik wipe)
if you cant get to odin mode (happened to me too) because when you shut off the machine it just starts
your gonna have to plug it into the charger...
hold the power button to turn it off,
wait for the batter indicator to come on...
wait 10 sec...
hold the power button to turn it off again
as soon as it shuts down hold the volume down and power button...
this should kick it into odin mode...
samsung service man says, 6750 RS. hardware change must.......
want to from big devs like @codeworkx, @pg101 can u help me??

I flashed the JB ROM on my Tab 7 Plus. After the "succeess" of the flashing as said by Odin v1.85, I tried to turn on the device, but it didn't. I tried to access download mode or recovery mode but it didn't work either. I tried to hold the volume down button and connect the cable to the tablet. That opened the download mode but the screen was "flashing". The rate at which the screen "flashes" keeps increasing until it becomes very fast and the device turns off. I tried to flash a ROM, but Unfortunately it turns off fast that there will be no time for the flashing process to continue.
Any idea what should I do?
what model device do you have and what exact ROM did you flash? and which ROM did you have before flashing.
If you say I dont know to any of these.....

My Device is GT-P6200 and I got the GT-P6200 JB ROM for it.
______________
I left my device to charge all night. When I woke up I tried to see if the 'flashing' of the screen still occurs, but it didn't happen. I think I can flash a ROM now
I tried to flash the ROM again and it worked, luckily it was not a hard brick. Problem solved. It is weird that the flashing didn't succeed the previous time. Maybe the battery level was low (about 20%) when I flashed the ROM the previous time, can this be the problem?
yes, also a faulty or non-OEM cable would be the culprit.

yess. flashing(blinking) screen is how download mode tells you that your battery is low. probably less than 10% since it even turned off by itself.
This Happend To me and I got it BACK
Hello... I totally understand your frustration... This exact same thing happened to me after my battery went dead just after I installed JB...
well here is the kick and it's kind of tricky...
If you want you can call me and I can tell you the instructions, it's complicated but if you follow the steps it will work...
I can also take the time to write it down, but i'm bad a typing.
let me know if you are interested...

Is it just me or is fix permission missing from CWM.
So, apart from GPS not working, as far as you know everything basic is working well?

Yeo, it is. I didn't touch anything related to the recovery except the recovery fstab that I must update to b compatible w the new JB so idk if I have to do anything else to have that feature back or it was CWM by default then, I will find out bout it soon.

I believe koush decided to throw away the fix permissions button in CWM because he said it was largely placebo effect and had no real purpose anymore.

so do you know if external mics work on this Rom?
Ok guys i have flashed near every rom this phone has ever had and never ran into a bootloop problem. So i had CH 10.2 on my phone for 2 days with no hiccups. Then today after letting my phone die completely "battery death" i pluged it in and now it keeps bootlooping and i cant get it into recovery if i hold down volume down + power it loops at the galaxy s 4g starting screen. If i let it go of the power button at the correct time it just bootloops. anyone have any ideas?

Battery Pull. Hold Vol Up + Vol Down + Power. Whenever The Samsung Galaxy S 4G Splash Screen Comes On, Let Go Of The Power Button And Keep The Volume Buttons Held Down. Should Take You To Recovery

OMG YES!!! I have no idea what i did but i pressed the combo when i plugged it into my computer and it looped the battery screen twice then went straight into CWM recovery did not go through the splash screen like a normal CWM recovery start but whatever i got to remove the rom and flash the new Slim Rom . Anyone have any idea what could have caused this just so i know what to or what not to do in the future ?
Try using adb
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
To get to CWM recovery on this ROM, simply download 'Quick Boot' application and use it to get to recovery. It works.
Apex launcher crashes as well. I think issue is ROM related. Also, ROM is very heavy, I couldn't find why.
Edit: ROM is snappier after using CM performance features and letting cache do its work.

I got through the splash screen on 1st try.
You should check if you worked according to ROM instructions.
I usually always format system as well as wipe everything twice before flashing any new ROM.
I was referring to :
1. the lack of recovery button on power menu.
2. The inability to use hardware keys to get to recovery after flashing this ROM.
Heimdall One-click (in download mode) and try again.
You're right - I missed that option in developer features - it's called 'advanced reboot options'.
I'd suggest you get to download mode - one click heimdall and reflash this ROM after dowble wiping dalvik, cache, and format system.
I've flashed numerous ROMS to my phone before but have never ran into a problem like this.
-I went back to stock
-flashed CM7, as recommended from the OP
-downloaded and flashed CM10.2 but it gets stuck around 75%
I've been on this thread, and the rom thread as well as waiting a bit, hoping to find a solution or it figures itself out. Nothing! Is it unsafe to pull my battery when its at 'Installing update' (75%) for an extended period of time?
Also, i am on CWM 5.0.2.8
Thanks
I flashed it from ICS (Ultragen) and had no problem.
You can try that as well.
