I own a htc sensation 4G. The phone was S-off and was rooted. I am new to android but i did follow every procedure perfectly till the following happened.
I downloaded the ota update. Whilst updating it, the update was successful but now my phone just shows a blank display. The phones on, i can receive calls too but its a blank black display with no touch capable.
I tried to run recovery (PG58IMG), it was successful, but when rebooting same problem.
From boot(vol down + power), if i go into recovery, nothing happens, phone simply boots up
Same is the result with factory reset. No matter what i try to do, the phone accepts the command and boots up leaving me with an on phone and no screen.
Next i tried RUU , RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.45.531.1_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_208218_signed and the RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.29.531.2_Radio_10.42.9007.00P_10.11.9007.15_M_release_193714_signed VERSIONS.
It runs but, when it comes to the point where it says, waiting for fastboot, There is a htc screen(white and black text) and the phone just wont go into fastboot. ten odd mins later i get a msg saying error 177, usb not found on my cpu and the only option on screen is exit. When i pull out the usb from the phone, for abt 5 seconds it shows the fast boot screen with RUU written below the basic information and it goes back to the htc screen. Only way to cancel is to pull out the battery...
Now everything that i could find on the forum and net, i have tried.. Please tell me if there is another option or am i doing something wrong???
My big problem at the moment is that im not in the states, am in India and cant take the phone to a service centre... PLS HELP
Any inputs guys?? really stuck here

RUU in general has a problem, the program keeps waiting for fastboot whilst i only have a screen with an htc logo on it. Only after waiting for a couple of hrs and disconnecting the usb cable, i get a fastboot screen with ruu written for abt 5 secs and it automatically goes back to the HTC screen..
I have tried 2 different ruu's and same end result.. so so..

i did today, they told me that everything possible that he would advice me to do, you have already done so. There is nothing left to be done. Get it over at a service centre to check for hardware defects or a possible re-programing of the phone.
The thing is, In india, htc sells like hot cakes, but their back-end service is horrendous. Service centers are not htc's but third party and they charge crazy sums for a customer doesn't have a 2nd option.
Hence am considering and trying all other options before going to a htc service center.
Is there anything that i have missed out in trying from my end???
Not that I know of, it sounds like the ota bricked ur phone and I'm not that good at that part. My knowledge only goes so far, sorry man.
Have you tried getting the PC to recognise the phone in fastboot?
If you have working fastboot then you can normally recover it.
Pull battery, reinsert, volume down & power then connect to PC.
Open cmd prompt as admin, cd to your fastboot folder, then enter "fastboot devices" and post the result.
Instructions on fastboot/adb if you are unfamiliar in the sticky guide to everything in dev forum.

#mugetsu666 , i doubt the phones bricked, whilst everything is not working, aka fastboot, recovery, factory restore etc, the phone does boot and is on. How do i know this?? well, when i dial my no, the phone does ring but the screen is dead, as in black.. the 4 tabs below too r lit up but just no response..
#stringer7 , i did all of that already but whilst u asked me to post results, something just struck me.. when the phones put on usb, it charges and i can take it to fastboot too, but, on the task bar far right in devices, the pc is trying to search drivers for usb. Thats always on, even after leaving the phone on load overnight.. The pc is always searching for drivers and when i unplug usb, the no drivers found error does pop up..
"device driver software not successfully installed", is the windows error
Is the above info of any help?? considering the fact that i can take the phone on fastboot usb, but on the pc screen comes the error that usb not found or waiting for fastboot...
help

Can you get a message from "fastboot devices" as above? If so you should be able to run the correct ruu to recover.

The thing is, that the comps not reading the phone as a android device.
It charges the phone but doesn't read it. Hence cant do anything..
Any RUU doesnt move beyond the usb detection point leaving me with an "ERROR 170", cannot read usb..
Did the ota do this or does this look like an hardware error?
The 1.45 ruu of t-mobile seems like the most common one, but i cant even put that 1 to the test cause it just doesnt go beyond detection
Is there a chance that my problem could have cause a motherboard or other hardware problem???
Hey guys,
I got a little problem here and would appreciate any help. As you might have guessed from the title I have an Optimus One here that won't boot. It is stuck on LG logo screen. The phone is not mine but my father-in-law's and I told him I would have a look since his warranty is already void. He told me that he turned it off because it was gettin really slow (and he does that from time to time to clear memory) and as he wanted to turn it on again, it was stuck on LG logo. And has been since. I can still access emergency mode though, but that's it!
Now, I know that there are a lot of threads that treat this problem but in every one of these threads people solve the problem by flashing a stock ROM via KDZ. And that doesn't work for me. It just won't go through with the whole process. I'm flashing in emergency mode and always at some point you hear the sound indicating that a USB device has been unplugged and it starts to boot (I don't know if it is supposed to cause I've never had one of these phones in my hand that was working properly, only this broken one) but obviously gets stuck at LG logo. After a while I get an error from KDZ and thats it.
I also tried with LGMDP, which didn't work either. And obviously I tried a hard-reset, which didn't do anything.
I really don't know what to do with that stupid thing. But I am 100% convinced that it can be revived because emergency mode is still accessable.
Can any of you guys help me? Would be much appreciated!!
Cheers
Hard reset!! again...mb try to flash CWM and wipe data/cache/dalvik
Hard-Reset doesn't work. Just leaves me at the lg logo again. How do you flash CWM? You mean with LGDMP?
tried it, didn't do anything. Thanks for the effort though...
No. KDZ
I`ve broken CWM and killed my O1. And just flash CWM via KDZ and reflesh ROM. It helps me
@ElZeck, when you are flashing with KDZ, what is the error that you get? Also, what is the operating system on your computer? I think I had trouble using KDZ on Windows 7/8, but Windows XP worked just fine. Maybe you might want to try using KDZ on a different computer.
Hey guys, thanks for your replies!
@Kill4File: How do you flash CWM with KDZ? I tried with LGMDP but I wouldn't know what file I would need to do so with KDZ. Can you supply the file?
@sweetnsour: I don't recall the error exactly. I know it ran through parameters until 100 twice and then it got stuck at sth. like wPrm 8. That sound familiar to you? OS is Windows 7.
Just download a recovery like cwm or twrp, then extract the .img file and flash that through lgmdp.
Edit : if you start your phone what happens?

Thanks for your reply, TheAndroidGeek, I already did that und it didn't change anything. When I start the phone, the LG logo pops up and that's it.

I remember my friend bricking his LG Mytouch, so I tried to help him out with KDZ. I believe you got a similar error (and he was also using Windows 7). I think looking for a different computer to use KDZ on might be the key, especially if you find a Windows XP computer. Basically Windows 7 caused trouble for my friend and me, and Windows 8 wasn't any better. My old XP desktop got the job done though.
This is what I do when I use KDZ (don't miss the words in bold):
1. Manually boot your phone into emergency mode, with emphasis on manually. To do so, hold Back + Vol Up + Power.
2. Plug the cable into the computer first, and then the other end into the phone, in that order. I know some people are used to plugging the cable into the phone first and then into the computer, but sometimes (at least when the phone is normally booted) the computer doesn't detect the phone.
2a. Just making sure, I assume that since your computer at least began the KDZ flash, you already have the drivers for your phone. If you do decide to try it on a different computer, remember to install the drivers (reasons on why I use Windows XP in the next step). Also, don't forget to disable the LGE Modem in Device Manager.
3. Open KDZ. I don't know why KDZ causes issues for me on Windows 7/8, but on those two operating systems, I get some sort of "compatibility issues." Also, KDZ likes to crash in the middle of a flash. Never had any of those issue in Windows XP (no crashes, and I believe KDZ was built for XP anyway since there aren't any compatibility issues).
4. Make sure you have it set to 3GQCT and DIAG. (If KDZ fails to flash, try the different options under PHONEMODE and also try shaking your phone during the flashing process). Browse to your KDZ file.
5. Begin the flashing process. No matter what happens on your phone (it reboots, makes noises, etc) don't remove the cable until KDZ reads "FINISHED".
6. If the phone fails to boot properly (stuck on bootanimation even though it flashed properly), yank the battery, and hold Home + Vol Down + Power. This will begin a hard reset.
If this is what you've been doing on Windows 7 and it still fails, I highly recommend using Windows XP.
Hopefully that helps

Unfortunately, I can't! Only emergency mode is accessable. Anything else (recovery, hard reset,...) leads to LG logo screen.
@sweetnsour: thanks for the detailed description but unfortunately that is exactly what I've been doing...
But there is one silver lining: I didn't try Win XP yet. I'll keep you updated...

I had this. I took out the battery, replaced it and then plugged into the USB. Got charging screen. From there, adb reboot recovery, restored a backup, and got back up and running (assume you have a usable backup available).
Here is a way to revive your phone
If you can enter recovery mode, your phone is revibable. You can install CyanogenMod 7 Android 2.3.7.
First, you need to download CM7 ROM.
Then download Google Apps.
After you download these files, put your sdcard in other phone, then connect to computer via USB cable.
Transfer the downloaded zip files to sdcard.
Insert your sdcard in your LG Optimus One.
Put your phone into recovery mode(ClockWorkMod recovery is required).
Use Volume buttons to navigate and Menu/Search key to select.
From the main menu, select mounts and storage>format/system.
Also select format/data and format/cache.
Go to main menu and select wipe data/factory reset>yes.
Now,select install zip from sdcard>choose zip from sdcard and select downloaded zip
Also,install Google Apps.
Reboot your phone.
You'll see the LG logo,Don't Panic!Wait a few seconds, and the CM boot animation will appear.
First boot takes some long time to install updates.
You're done!
Hello, today i was updating my O3D to the official ICS when suddenly my crappy dell computer crashed. The flash failed and now the only thing my phone does is vibrate and show the LG logo then within 1 second it shuts off. I tried different ressurection guides and all failed. Even with the LG recovery it doesn't work. It detects my phone as cdma device and flashing works but when i try to start i got the same problem.
Anyone experienced this problem??
Thank you!
have you tried to flash kdzfile?

Aside from hardware damage , which is not likely , O3D is unbrickable.
You're probably not doing it right.
If it gets to the bootloader which is running under that lg logo you speak of , that means it's not totally bricked.
If it just shuts off than that means , it can't load the system partition because it's filesystem is either corrupted or nonexistent.
That's a good sign , that means it's looking for it , and if the bootloader is there , that means it can probably get into download mode without external help.
So , you need to get into download mode and flash a bin rom to your device.
Download LG Flashtool and install the correct drivers listed and linked in the resurrection guide.
Load the dll and the rom to it then press ready.
Use the resurrection guide to get into download mode , you can skip the part "omapboot" to get into download mode if you can get into download mode without it. (Remove the battery press the vol + button and you hear a connected then disconnected , then in the second connected you plug the battery in.) If you installed the drivers correctly it will get into download mode. If it doesn't start over , you probably did something wrong or you need omapboot.
Don't worry i faced a couple of scary and frustrating hours in my first time but you'll get through.
Use the guide for everything you need.
Alternatively , you can always take it to your LG Service Center...
Hello.
Thank you in advance for your help. This is my problem. Fews days ago the button-on-off was broken. I somehow managed to live with that problem. Untill I decided to open the phone and see if I can fix it. I noticed then that is if I remove the battery and put it on again; the phone would boot on its own. I opened the phone and checked it from inside I couldn't see anyhing abnormal. Probably the button needs to be replaced.
while I was assembling the phone, the battery was removed while the phone was booting. Afterwards, the phone didn't want to boot anymore given the fact that the button remains useless. I read on some posts that if I plug the Usb cable to the PC the phone would boot, but nothing happened.
So here's where I am stuck. If anyone knows how I can boot the phone despite the button being broken and the USB trick not working. please help
Try using adb reboot fastboot to boot to fastboot and then change with the volume keys to reboot.

Thank you for your help, here's what I have done :
I have had the button replaced. the button works now fine. but the phone is stuck on the google screen and doesn't boot. I have access to Fastboot mode. I've tried to unlock it to be able to copy some recovery file. but i got the message (Failed: erase...).
I tried wipe/reset. when I do wipe cache partition, it formats the partition, i don't know what effects does it have. are all the data wiped? including the ROM? ...but it has no effect and the sysgtem just boots and goes back to the frozen google screen and when I perform factory reset it goes back to the robot with the red triangle screen.
Anyway, I tried the only option left which is "apply update from ADB" the phone goes into adb mode and waits for the update to be sent.
the phone is obviously recongnized in my computer as an ADB interface. i wrote the command <adb sideload update.zip> the update.zip is actually the official 4.1.2 ROM downloaded from google sites and renamed. After the execution of the command, the file was sent, I had then a big hope that this would be the end of my nightmare, at the end of the sending. The phone reacts and displays the following
Finding update package
Verifying update package,
Installation aborted
So this is where I am stuck. If any one can Help please. by the way NS is on the officla 4.1.2 ROM and not rooted and locked
Thank you

Few days ago, my Google Pixel2 suddenly reboot by itself & then stuck in screen with android logo with option "Start", "Recovery Mode", "Barcode", "Power Off". Aside from "Power Off" & "Barcode" function all function like Start/RecoveryMode doesn't work- it will eventually return to same screen with Android logo. On the screen, it was indicated :
- Device state: Locked
- "ERROR: Slot Unbootable: Load Error"
My phone is still in OEM-locked status (before this issue occur) and i couldn't get into "RecoveryMode" to perform factory reset.
I tried using fastboot/ADB to unlock the phone, to flash with new image, to switch boot-slot from a to b.... all attempted failed with error that the phone is locked.
I did searched for different forums and tried different methods but can't find any solution to fix this problem (Seems like there were quite a number of people having same issue within these few months). The fastboot toolkit seems to recognize my phone but basically none of the command to flash the phone could work.
I suspect there was an auto-update that had cause this sudden reboot. I tried various ways to reboot but nothing works. When i plug in USB to phone on my laptop, it was not detected and when you right-click on the USB icon to eject, it shows "Eject Android"- when i eject, it shows "Android bootloader interface removed". If i check in DeviceManager on Microsoft Windows, the Pixel2 wasn't really detected.
It would be a great help if you can guide me to solve this as I really love this phone and hope i could fix this. I'd tried contacting Google.. according to them I'm eligible for RMA but I need to be in US in order to claim that. Unfortunately, that would not be an option as I'm currently located in Malaysia. Hence, was just trying to reach out for any help/guide from experts out there
Thanks a lot~
