[Audio Issue] Moto G HISSING STATIC constant with apps - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please help me. :crying:
Motorola Moto G 16GB, updated to 4.4.2.
HELP MY EARS!! Most notably when using earphones, I get horrible hissing, static hissing whenever I open an app that outputs sound. Even with something like Google Voice Search popping up and playing the dum-dum sound. This happens even when I turn the volume down to 0. I've gone into Sound settings, disabled Motorola's EQ, put all other volumes (notification etc) to 0 as well but nothing has helped. As soon as the app stops outputting volume after a second or so delay, the hissing goes away. For example when a YouTube video stops playing. It's driving me nuts. Google shows that it's a common issue after the 4.4.2 update or something.
I also use the app Fine Volume Control V2 across all Android devices I use since I find the minimum volume to be too loud, even with my TF300T. Thinking this was an issue I've uninstalled said app, rebooted but alas the static hissing remains.
Don't say you can't hear it, you need some half-decent headphones/earphones to pick it up, but oh dear god it's painful. Same symptoms described in this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611599

[BUG] Crackling sound on calls and music, can anyone help?

Hello,
I am a proud owner of a couple Android Phones since the HTC G1, the HTC Magic and so goes on.
Now I was very excited to get the Nexus S, but on the first day of use, after making all the updates to 2.3.2 and installing all my usual apps, I noticed a crackling sound when hearing music from the speakers.
I can not find the reason of this but would like to know if someone had a problem similar to mine, and if yes, if it was possible to solve it.
There are some facts about this crackling noise that I point as follow:
- The crackling sound is not present all the times. The phone works well when playing shorts sounds like ringtones and notifications. I can hear everything crystal clear;
- When I start to hear a song (tried many different players, all the same problem), or when I am playing a game that uses constant music or sound effects, the crackling sound starts after some minutes of perfect sound (usually between 01:00 and 01:30 of good playing);
- It seems like a irregular white noise, like playing a corrupted MP3 file, that gets in the middle of the media;
- It beguns with a low volume compared to the media and gets louder as time passes, until it gets more frequent and as louder as the music playing;
- At first I thought of a broken speaker, and checked the headphones, but the crackling sound appears when listening music on both headphones and external speakers;
- Then I noticed the crackling sound appears on long voice calls too.
Well... I thought it could be something related to the software, so tried the OEM recovery process (Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset), but it was not sucessfull.
[Q] Does anyone had a problem like mine?
[Q] Could someone point what could be the cause of it or a possible solutions?
Thanks in advance.
Jon
I noticed the same thing while listening to Pandora. Not sure what's going on. I'm on Modaco and don't know if its something in there or not.
I hear the noise after about 30 minutes of pandora.
I'm having the same issue running Modaco while listening to music via Spotify.
Just got back to the stock ROM, I'll see if it's any better and keep you guys posted.
I can now confirm that stock ROM is not affected by this issue.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App

Galaxy Skyrocket wont play sounds.

So for some reason my phone's sound won't work properly. It kept saying that my phone's SIM card could't be detected so i restarted. Then my volume button wouldn't stop decreasing. And now my speakers won't play. The only time I hear sound from it is when i raise my ringer volume up and down but then apparently NOTHING else will come out. YouTube videos will play but no sound will come out. Music will show up but no sound will come out. I can't even play my ring tones. Just that little sound that you get from increasing or decreasing ringer volume. I have no idea why this is happening and I've tried searching through Google and The Forums and i couldn't find one to my problem.
Go settings->sound->volume and turn up your media volume. You may have a larger problem than just that though so contact your carrier if you're still having problems with it.

No sound from speakers or earphones

Yesterday night after returning home from a busy day at office, I inserted earphones to my moto G to listen to some songs and i instantly found out that there was a very low audible music playing. My finger instantly went at the volume switch and to my horror i found that the volume is already at max!. I tried to lower volume, with no change in earphone volume intensity and again increased it, still no change.
Then i removed my earphones assuming they are faulty and the loudspeaker had same issue!
I tried changing ringtones to check if those sound play well, but still problem persisted and I instantly realized that my moto g haven't been playing ringtones even at office while receiving messages (Which obviously i had ignored since i was busy with work).
Now a fear gripped me, and thought of my moto G having hardware fault ran through my brain
The only old school option that came to my mind is reboot.
I rebooted keeping my fingers crossed, and to my joy, volume worked fine on speakers and earphone as well.
The concern now is why that happened suddenly ? I run my moto g on stock with no apps that may tinker with my sound / volume.
Has anyone else ever had similar issue ?

[Audio issue] Moto G annoying hiss/static noise

been lurking for a while to find a solution for this problem but I haven't been able to find a solution so I thought I'd register
So i'm experiencing an annoying problem with my Moto G
there's this hiss coming out of the speaker when doing anything that has something to do with sound really (like opening apps)
the first thing you hear is the sound of the app opening but if I listen closely and keep the speaker close to my ear I can hear a kind of static noise coming through the speaker for about 3 seconds after the app sound before it abruptly stops
I can constantly hear it when playing a video or song with the volume muted. it's not really noticeable when you're not using earphones, but i listen to music quite often when at school and it's really noticeable with earphones in. the hiss becomes less noticeable as you turn up the volume but it's still noticeable and really annoying when listening to quite parts of songs. plus I don't feel like damaging my ears just so I don't have to hear the hiss. the hiss abruptly stops after about 3 seconds after pausing the video/song
From what I've read on the internet this problem seems very common with HTC phones and G2 users.
Any other G owners who are experiencing this problem?

V4A painful white noise

I've been using Viper4Android half a year, but one week ago I decided to push it further with DDC and everything (Making my own profiles for headphones).
So my DDC profiles and others work fine, but sometimes an extremely loud white noise starts to sound (it hurts). It happens when I press play to listen to some song, and instead of playing it, the only thing that sounds is that painful noise. It also happens when opening any app, and what is weird is that it also happens when my headset (bluetooth) is not connected, so it sounds through the phone's speaker, and it sometimes happen when i'm in classroom so it's embrassing sometimes. I would say the problem starts when I change the source of sound, for example when moving from spotify to youtube.
To stop this, the only thing I can do is turn on and off the master power button in V4A app, or restart the phone. Android's volume slider does nothing, by the way.
My driver version is 2.5.0.4, I've got neon enabled, audio format is supported and sampling rate is 48KHz. I'm using Xiaomi mi A2 with the lastest version of android, got the bootloader unlocked and rooted via magisk.
This is the first time I post something here, then sorry if there is some thread about this bug already, I've been searching for it before posting.
(Edit): Tried to download new version (2.7.1.0), and still having the same issue.
