So I was messing around with Wanam Xposed and thought I should try to theme the S4 panel like the S5 panel. I usually use the domination theme for AOSP look and feel but since the latest build (NC1) isnt supported yet Ill settle with this.

I didnt wanna settle for the ugly S4 panel and the S5 panel looks nice to be honest. And I am using the Hassan NC1 rom and it came with S5 toggle icons so thats what I have used.
Just use the Wanam Xposed app to theme it. I am gonna leave the screenshot to give you what it looks like: [ see attachment ]

You can get the icons from this thread and use Wanam Xposed to change the colors. If you want color codes, I can provide them on request. (Too lazy to dig into settings to get color strings. )

Wanam Xposed app does it. User its themes settings. Theres an option to remove the bar and change panel background.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.xposed
The background of the notifications was already black by standard for the S5 Systemui.
I don't know if the line over the carrier is also away by standard but with Wanam Xposed / Notifications / carrier size to small it may have gone away (translated might be called different in English)
You can change the color of the background of notifications at Wanam Xposed /Themes

Panel Background = ff001e27
Tile Background Color = ff00384d
Bar Color = ff006c92
Drawer Handle Background = ff001c27
These are my colors, they arent the official S5 ones but these suit better for me. You can play around with yours

In a way, yes, Unicon and Galaxy Icon Themer do the same thing - that is give the ability to change icons but the difference are:
Unicon
- is a paid app
- uses Xposed framework to do the theming
- has icon masking support
Galaxy Icon Themer
- is free
- uses Touchwiz native theme engine to theme icons
- no icon masking support
Galaxy Icon Themer Pro
- is a paid app
- uses Touchwiz native theme engine to theme icons
- with icon masking support
- with Per App icon theming with several options and also is in continued development
@xperiacle.....i purchased pro version...after theming the icons are small but with the free version the icons are normal...please advise

Hi,
does anyone know how to change the maximum amount of icons displayed in the status bar on the top? I have more than just 5 apps running in the background so it shows me 3 dots only after the fifth icon.
Is there auch possibility to show all icons instead of the 3 dots?
Thanks in advance.

I' curious too. Wish it would just show all the icons. I've searched hi and low with no luck.

Does anyone know if the Oreo update still does this?
Do you guys have noticed that when you apply a wallpaper that is fully black, the color on top where the status bar is is grey? It is even more noticeable when you hide the status bar in Nova launcher than there is a grey bar on top of the screen. Now I don't know if that has to do with the aspect ratio but it is not so nice to look at in my opinion.
Sent from my SM-G955F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
It's normal. It's some sort of statusbar shade so that it's easier to see the statusbar on lighter wallpapers.
There's also one at the bottom where you usually swipe to open the app drawer.
Okay tnx but I haven't noticed it before on my S5.

I too had this problem with my s6 and now with s8+. I mainly noticed when i changed the themes with Nova launcher. But the thing worked for me is to apply wallpaper from Nova launcher(long press on home screen > wallpaper > choose). Almost every time this worked for me but u can try by switching the applying process from Gallery and from Nova launcher alternatively.

If you downloaded one from google search it could be an improper resolution. try search 2 ,WALLPAPERYOUWANT 2960x1440 then click the images or look for it to say that resolution in image details
example
Dragon Ball Super 2960x1440 if x doesnt work try * 2960*1440
Tnx! I fixed it with adding shadow on top and bottom in Nova settings

Have the same problem. With black wallpaper it is light at the top. With light wallpaper it is dark at the top. Wtf Samsung !!!!
SOLVED!
Hey there this threat is pretty old but I'll put it out there just in case anyone else is having the same grey status bar shade while using black wallpapers which I'm sure are still out there. So here's the fix I just figured and hopes it helps other. It's simple really! Apparently samsung has this irritating thing on the s7 and s8 I guess. So to fix it, just download samsung's goodlock app, install it. When your phone comes back on after the compulsory reboot, then navigate to "advanced" on the goodlock settings disable status bar dim background. That's all! Apply your black wallpapers and enjoy your amoled screens! Please share if it helped you.

Well, this doesn't look like it's working for note 5 or the APK doesn't download\work anymore. APK parse error when installing. I've gotten the apk from multiple locations with no luck. GRR, this is frustrating. I've also tried multiple launchers thinking it was that, with no luck. The suggesting to use the shadow settings in Nova don't work either.
Any other options?
Because Samsung has yet to reimplement the the function that allows you to change your S8's navigation bar color to black, or whatever color you want for that matter, I thought I'd make a Windows program that allows you, and makes it a lot easier to change the navigation bar color to whatever you want.
The program downloads necessary tools that are needed to change the navigation bar color, like adb, automatically and makes the procedure easier if you ever want to change your navigation bar color.
All you have to do is make sure USB-debugging is enabled on your phone, start the program, choose color and press Go to apply chosen color!
The project is Open Source so the source code and project files are available if you feel like taking a look at them.
The program works with the S8, S8+ and Note 8!
If you have any suggestions or questions feel free to write about them in this thread!
Download link to the program and the link to the source code and project files will be posted down below by the user 'bpl'
Download link for the program: Dropbox
Source code and project files: Github

The app only puts a sort of theme over the navbar and can be pretty buggy.
My program changes the color values of the navbar so its not just a theme, and because of that, the navbar works just like it should and isn't buggy.

Small question up front, it just changes the values of the nav bar?
And on home screen, is it still transparent?

Yep, just changes the color values of the navbar. The color will still be applied after reboot too.
So long as your launcher has a transparent navbar by default it will stay transparent.

Changing the status bar color will most likely require you to root your phone because you will need to modify system files to change the status bar properties...
But if you are rooted then here is a tutorial on how to change the individual status bar icon colors: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=549309
