[Q] Something went wrong while installing CWM and now CWM recovery mode wont open. - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was following this tutorial [wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_p3100] form wiki.cyanogenmod.org and it went fine till step 12
#11. Unplug the USB cable from your device You can now manually reboot the phone into ClockworkMod Recovery mode by holding .
#12. The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (GSM) now has ClockworkMod Recovery installed. Continue to the next section.

And instead of starting in recovery mode, I started in normal mode mistakenly. So I did the whole again. Until now the "Custom binary download" was showing "2 counts" but again mistakenly started in normal mode. Then I did the whole once again, and held the power and volume up button to start in recovery mode. But the device was stuck at start screen (which shows galaxy tab 2 logo). I doesn't even start in normal mode. I did the whole again and again.
Now the "Custom binary download" is showing "5 counts". I somehow was able to start my device. But when I again go to recovery mode (using power + vol up button) I am getting the usual (the one provide my Samsung) recovery mode instead of CWM recovery mode.
I have few questions regarding this
Should I continue the tutorial now(but I am not getting the CWM recovery mode in)?
How to do nandroid backup, my tab is not rooted yet(checked using root checker)?
"Custom binary download" is showing "5 counts", will that cause problems? How to fix?
By the way, my device name is Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0' (P3100).

I had the same problem, because I had already taken the 4.0.4 update. The problem I (and I suspect the others) were having is the reboot after Odin installs the CWM. It happens so fast, there's no time to unplug the tablet and do the button dance to boot into recovery. As a result, the normal boot goes through, and runs the install-recovery.sh that Ryan79 mentioned in system/etc, restoring stock recovery.
Here's how I solved it:
1). On Odin, uncheck "Auto Reboot".
2). Install CWM6.
3). When it goes green, unplug the tablet (still in "download" screen).
4). Reboot manually into recovery (hold power + Vol. left, release power, hold vol. left until CWM screen comes up). I did this straight from the "download" screen. The tablet powered off after a few seconds of holding the power button, then came up to the samsung screen, then I released the power button and continued to hold the volume button until CWM6 loaded.
5). I installed the cwm-root-gtab2.zip file.
6). I selected YES when the "Stock Reboot Fix" question appeared.
Rebooted from recovery, Successful root! Looks to me like the "fix" simply renames the install-recovery.sh, removing the ".sh" at the end. I have now rebooted a couple of times normally, and can still access CWM6 through the buttons.

Odin (download) mode better always be there or you are really and totally screwed.
ok assuming your using the same method I did what you havve done so far is put your device into download mode opened Odin and unchecked the auto reboot and f reset time and flashed the CWM .tar file for your version of the tab and now after "pass"ing your tab is still in download mode and your afraid to power off because the screen still says "do not power off", it's OK if you passed on the odin flash then its safe to press the power button and volume up (the volume closest to the power button) button combo till the tab resets then release just the power button (keep holding the volume up button until CWM recovery boots, then flash the zip files like the instructions say.

[Q] Stuck and Can Only Boot Into TWRP

So I have TWRP on but it was mistakenly the T-Mobile version TWRP so the touch screen doesn't work and I can't hold down Vol Up+Home+Power to go to Odin. And if I hold Vol Dow+Home+Power and release right when it turns off, it just will boot back into recovery! Is there a way to reboot into download mode or anything on the main screen of TWRP? ADB? Anything?

So now I'm in recovery and I tested Fastboot and ADB to see if anything would work. I got ADB to work, BUT here's the catch. The device is "Offline." Check image below....
Did the same with TWRP... awhile back..But I knew it was for the T-Mobile.
I was checking to see if it work (SCREEN WAS NOT RESPONDING, STUCK IT WAS..ALL i DID WAS VOL+ MENU-B+PWR. AND I FLASH A COPY OF THE FIRMWARE I PICKED FROM SAMSUNG WEB SITE .BACK TO STOCK NO ISSUES)
CF-Auto-Root-zerofltetmo-zerofltetmo-smg920t
WORKED FOR ME..
HOPE YOU FIND A SOLUTION.

How I fixed my Sprint Galaxy S6 stuck in TMobile TWRP boot loop:
I have a lot of my music I made, pictures of my kids and family and did not want to lose my data.
SO, IF YOU VALUE YOUR DATA, PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1.) Download Odin 3.10.6 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
2.) Download Sprint TWRP Recovery Image:
https://dl.twrp.me/zerofltespr/twrp-2.8.6.0-zerofltespr.img.tar.html
3.) Enter Galaxy S6 Download Mode:
Here are the few simple steps to boot Galaxy S6 download mode:
Turn your Samsung Galaxy S6 off completely...
you could run the battery down by resetting the phone several times,
but you could probably avoid this by trying this following button sequence:
Boot into Galaxy S6 recovery mode by pressing and holding each button, one at a time
(Volume Down>Home >Power) keys at the same time.
Release all three buttons when Samsung Galaxy S6 screen flickers and you see a warning sign.
Press Volume Up to continue booting into to Recovery mode.
4.) Flash the Sprint TWRP Recovery package:
1. Add the tar file to the "AP" section of ODIN.
2. Under Options make sure to ONLY select "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time".
DO NOT select repartition, or anything else!
3. Click start and it will immediately flash and reboot.
4. Click reboot system and you have your phone back to a working condition.

Flash CWM Recovery from Odin

A while back I flashed my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 with a SLIM Rom. I used Odin way back to do get what I needed. It has been a while since I loaded a custom rom, but maybe I am missing a step to get CWM loaded so I can load another custom rom. The following are the steps that I go through.
1. Power the device down
2. Boot the device into recovery mode (HOLD Power button + volume down). the screen says it is in ODIN Mode.
3. Plug in the USB
4. Fire up Odin
5. Load 'GT-P3113_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.1.0.tar' in the PDA field
6. Click Start
Then the device boots up normally and then loads like normal. How do I get it to boot CWM in the recovery mode?
Hold power + home + bolume up button to boot into recovery

Stuck in Odin/downloading mode

I tried to install install custom recovery using rashr it gave me a message that it has installed the recovery. It asked whether to go to recovery mode or not. Yup my answer was yes. But instead of going in recovery mode I got in Odin/ downloading bode and I am stuck here. My computer does not recognize my phone even adb and Odin.
I tried reinserting battery, using vol+/- , home button and power button. But it restarts and starts in downloading mode. I can even not enter recovery mode.
There is
