Ok, I'm not one to plug an app but how the Hell is this browser this fast? Long story short, I started researching browsers today because Chrome is just terrible. And there was an article by pocket now comparing the top ten browsers. puffing crushed everything. So I figured what the heck, and wow. If you've heard of this already then you know I'm talking about but if you haven't, try it out. Interface will take some getting used to but well worth it in my opinion

I'm on the latest update and have had zero issues. It could be there Android version or something but for me it's been running flawlessly. There's also some pretty cool plugins for reading. I'm already used to it and it's now my default browser. I've uninstalled everything else

I tried it, love the speed, but have interface...
Since I tested all browsers, even paid, but the best I found, and not ready to change it, it's Sleipnir browser ! He is awesome, flexible interface, fast, free

puffin browser....not that great but alright. starts off good then starts lagging...in my experience it did,but that was on cm11.
How do you think this compares too boat browser?
Is there an adblocker included in puffin browser?
Checked it, damn, it's lagging so much.
For me the best is Dolphin and then Chrome Beta (after changing some flags it's fast as hell, but meh - Flash Player..)

Is it just me or do guys notice a pretty bad glitch when scrolling down web pages on the default browser? Just wondering if their is a way to fix that problem other then to use another browser like opera. Reason I ask is because I only use the default browser to pay online bills and that glitch while scrolling it's really annoying. Don't think it'll make a difference but I'm using infused 1.5.3
thanks.

IV had a few loading issues glitchy/laggy. But It may of been a network issue while loading. I use dolphin browser HD now seen less issues using it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
With the dolphin web browser can it give you the option to respond to web forums that aren't compatible with tapatalk I noticed opera mobile or mini can't do that.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997
Testing from dolphin browser oh I guess it works nice guess this will be my default browser d from now on
If its the "checkering" you are talking about... All you have to do is let the page load all the way. This issue has been discussed already. The other browsers might do it less, but I like the stock one better.
My bad-ass Infuse
There is a modified stock browser that you can use. And see if it fixes ur problem.

Here you go. It's slappyjoker's post. Download it, backup the original (I just rename it to Browser.apk.stock) and drop in the modified browser and you're set. Use root explorer to do all of these steps of course.

I personally don't use it much because I have opera as my default for its other capabilities. But there is quite a difference in the modified browser. Feel free to test it out, you can always revert back to stock.

Holy **** that hacked browser made a huge difference in performance. It didn't fix the checker problem but the performance pretty much trumps that issue for me.
Thanks a bunch for the heads up on that browser.

Hey guys I'm just wondering if Samsung ever released a fix for the stock browser lag.
I was thinking about getting the phone but this is holding me back.
Sent from my ADR6350 using XDA App
Given that you seem to have an issue with any Samsung phone you have, regardless of how big or small the problem is, you're probably better off just not getting it, because even if the "browser lag" is fixed, you'll just find another thing to complain about.
Next he will be complaining about the lack of an LED and saying BLN is not a valid replacement.

You should try the iphone. I hear the pinch to zoom works flawlessly on it.

No its not the phone. I had it before and returned it for same reason. But after hearing about update i wanted to try it again. If i use the opera mobile browser its perfect with no checkerboard and touch is very responsive. On the stock browser if i scroll it'll respond 2 sec after

No offense, but that is pretty sad if that is the "only" thing causing you to pack up the Charge. What do you like about the stock browser so much that you don't use an alternative anyway? If the problem doesn't exist for the other browsers, why not just use one of them? I can think of a handful of others that are much better than the stock browser anyway.
Seems like you are just trying to bash Samsung for no particular reason.
No im not bashing. I had it once before. And got rid of it for that reason. But i heard the lag was fixed. That why I ASKED IN THIS POST ..... The reason i like the stock browser is it handles alot of webpages better.... Format wise. Its just a taste. Trust i would rather be on a 4g phone.... The thunderbolt was just to big and heavy for me. So i went with the charge. Not bashing... Not meant that way.

Stock browser consumes extreme amounts of CPU.
Do not use
Not gonna bother reading the thread still gonna chime in through, the stock browser sucks but if you're asking about the glitch that was in all the DC reviews where flash froze the browser, then that has been fixed a long time ago.
Also, for browsers I'd suggest replacing stock with Dolphin HD(or Mini, uses less resources) or Opera.
I was looking around to find something to improve the stock browser on CM7. It is really laggy for some reasons.
I found a solution in the Desire Z area. Download this patch and flash it in Recovery.
Here is a video of the patch in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DZnie3u0YI
Now the browser is smooth as butter, it is comparable to Opera smoothness. I think this is the best we can get for the moment.
Enjoy !

Wow thanks dude!
I know miui is already pretty damn smooth but would this work because I believe miui is cm7 based. Would be interesting to see what it does

Latest MIUI has this feature built-in as far as I know. But you could try and report.

But opera is better than stock anyway and can sync bookmarks to desktop.
And I know dolphin wins most android browser reviews.

Yeah, opera us better
I use the stock for quick browsing, fir example when I just want to quickly check something , it loads much faster ar the start up than opera.
But opera is better for all rounded browsing

For me nothing compares to stock browser. It loads pages faster, it's more intuitive than many other browsers and I got used to it. With this patch it's perfect... well almost. I only miss the pinch to switch through pages like stock sense browser.
What's the best browser in your opinions? I've tried stock, dolphin, and firefox. All seem to be a tad sluggish. It might just be me being picky since my PCs have always been blazing fast..

The stock browser is best for performance as far as I can tell, but Chrome is just awesome so I use that.
A lot of compatibility issues were fixed with Chrome and Flash is actually dying away, so I'm going to say get Chrome.

Dolphin HD is the best. I can't stand Chrome or Firefox on the SR.
Been playing with chrome occasionally. Some sites align better, but most align worse than in dolphin. Dolphin seems most consistent to me. Hopefully chrome only gets better, I love the tabbing features.

I haven't used chrome, but I've used every other browser and opera has been the best by far. It's the only browser I've used that will display websites in desktop mode without any problems. All the others would still display some sites in mobile even though user agent was set to desk top.
I want to try chrome though. It's what I use on the pc
Watching embedded, non-YT videos on Chrome can be a pain in the ass at times, but other than that, I find it pretty good. Dolphin HD is solid as well. Dolphin has a ton of (optional) add-ons and extensions too.
Just wondering what everyone's opinion on browsers is. I'm using chrome right now cause I'm on aokp and wanted to try it but usually stick to the stock browser or maxthon. I've read good things about dolphin and a browser called uc.
So what do you use?
I've used several just to see what they're like but I always end up using the stock browser and uninstalling the others.

Boat browser works pretty good for me. Pretty fast as well.
Just read about privacy concerns with Dolphin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...Dolphin's collection of your browsing history
Supposedly fixed in version 7 but bothered me so I switched to Boat Browser which I like better. Customizable side bar, more start page speed dial spots, seems smoother, no random closes, etc. I'm a fan so far.
