The best browser for the SR? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

What's the best browser in your opinions? I've tried stock, dolphin, and firefox. All seem to be a tad sluggish. It might just be me being picky since my PCs have always been blazing fast..

Have you tried chrome or opera?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2

The stock browser is best for performance as far as I can tell, but Chrome is just awesome so I use that.

A lot of compatibility issues were fixed with Chrome and Flash is actually dying away, so I'm going to say get Chrome.

Dolphin HD is the best. I can't stand Chrome or Firefox on the SR.

Been playing with chrome occasionally. Some sites align better, but most align worse than in dolphin. Dolphin seems most consistent to me. Hopefully chrome only gets better, I love the tabbing features.

Tried chrome its really nice, But I'm gonna go with dolphin hd cuz I got use to it
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app

I haven't used chrome, but I've used every other browser and opera has been the best by far. It's the only browser I've used that will display websites in desktop mode without any problems. All the others would still display some sites in mobile even though user agent was set to desk top.
I want to try chrome though. It's what I use on the pc

Watching embedded, non-YT videos on Chrome can be a pain in the ass at times, but other than that, I find it pretty good. Dolphin HD is solid as well. Dolphin has a ton of (optional) add-ons and extensions too.

I use dolphin hd.
Tried skyfire, but once I removed the stock browser I couldn't use bookmarks any more.
Also, i love the gesture feature on dolphin.

I personally like opera mobile web browser, and with newest flash it has flash support. Pretty snappy too
I have tested the speed load on pages on every browser for Android and found Skyfire to be the fastest so that's what i am rocking for the moment

I hate to be the 4th different browser lol.... but Miren is my choice browser.. its faster and simpler to use than all the rest

I like Opera. For me it is the most like a "real" web browser and beats the stock web browser on the phone by a mile!
So far, none "wow" me:
Stock browser -- can't exit, four-window limit, can't easily clear "private data"
Dolphin -- cookies don't keep when screen locks, have to re-authenticate
Miren -- runs a background process for no good reason, haven't played with it much
Firefox -- seems very slow, even though AdBlock Plus is sorely missed in the others

Agreed.
I'm running Dolphin though, cause it honestly has a balanced featureset and I'm happy with the speeds.
Mini opera. fast and menu are easy to navigate.

Personally I use Opera mobile it's just very snappy starts fast and it seems to have an adblocker built in which is very nice. The UI in my opinion is better than any other browser on the android marketplace.
I have tried all the browsers except Skyfire so I have no opinion on that.
Mirren-I didn't like it just wasn't as snappy seemed to be slower than opera.
Firefox-Is just embarrassing I love the desktop version but they have a long way to go for the mobile version. It starts slow like 15 seconds to finish starting, no flash support you have to download a plugin, and overall is very slow.
Dolphin- I love this browser and it would be my second choice for you to try out. I would go with Dolphin mini since it's smaller. I didn't really notice any difference between Dolphin HD and Dolphin mini besides Dolphin HD supporting add ons.
and does anyone know the difference between Opera mobile and Opera mini browser?
Thanks everyone for your input.
.. +1 to all of you... I'm going to go with Opera just because I've use it on my HTC Touch Pro 2... and the stuck one would be better if it would let you delete the pre installed bookmarks...

Browser preference

As we all know, android has multiple web browsers like: firefox, dolphin, and skyfire, to name a few. Since I've been an android user, I recall sticking to the stock browser but since I've gotten my Infuse, I've noticed sluggish performance, especially the "checkerboard" with the stock android browser.
As a result, I've been using firefox, opera mobile, dolphin, and skyfire to see which of these proves to be a worthy replacement.
I spent one full day with each browser testing speed, download capability, flash support (if applicable) and overall performance.
I must say, in my opinion, that I've found Opera Mobile to be my choice. it's much faster than any of the other browsers and allows downloading of any file. (I've experienced download errors with the stock browser especially with file-hosting sites)
Any thoughts? What browser have you been using?
Sent from my Infuse 4G
For me Dolphine premium. And has good plug-in that can be access by sliding from the right edge if the screen to the right, like screenshot, brightness control, font size adjusters and more, and ability to change tab by gesture and more
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
The stock browser on the Infuse has bugs...I even exchanged my Infuse and it still happens..it causes my phone to lock up and do a soft reboot...I have no choice but to try another browser and Dolphin works great...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
I have also concluded that opera runs best on my infuse. Fast and smooth as butter scrolling with no tiling. I really hope there will be an update to fix the stock browser though. I prefer the stock browser's integration with the OS.

I see the stock android browser worthless
Dolphin almost works as fast and accurate as my cognition capt....kind of let down over this..brightside is i have 2 more weeks...minus the 35$ restocking fee..thinking i might take a holiday.my maj. Complaint is how the stock browser refuses to resize sites...forums.. So i dont have to scroll side to side..captivate i double click and its fast and big. Yet its 4inch...a holiday sounds good but i dont want a bbq and bad batt. Life in my pocket either...its a fun year for mini tracking devices..woooohoooooo
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
I've also tested over several browsers and finally got to Opera Mobile. Here're my several cents:
* stock browser is kinda laggy and lacks of an ad block solution (except for host-file based or proxy server based, both are deficient); it also lacks a sync solution;
* Both Opera Mobile and Firefox Mobile support sync and ad block; Firefox is more feature rich because of its extension support but takes too much resources; Opera Mobile, on the other hand, runs much smoother and takes less RAM (in fact, much less!);
* Opera Mobile supports Flash plugin, which is a killer feature over Firefox.
Finally I chose Opera Mobile. It's adblock function needs me to build up my own url filter file (while in contrast Firefox has adblock plus that takes care of everything). But hey, I don't really care if it cannot block 100% of the ads, and all other advantages are much more important!
Actually stock browser does resize pages when doubled clicked it has to be turned on in the settings menu when in browser the auto fit webpages needs to be checked.
Thanks

What browser do you use?

Just looking to see what browser everyone uses,I've tried a few different ones and haven't found the "perfect" one yet I like the sync feature that firefox has to sync my bookmarks and tabs, specifically the "real time" sync of pages I have open my PC. But for some reason firefox is real laggy on my bolt,Does any other browser have that?
Miren. It's insanely good. I set flash plug-ins to on demand, location off, and its amazing. http://market.android.com/details?id=cn.miren.browser

Firefox on a bolt... Wow. Firefox has been slow and funky on any android phone I've owned.
I agree with the Miren browser suggestion. I've been using it for many moons.
You may want to try out XScope too. It's a speedy feature filled browser. I purchased dolphin xd and used it for awhile, but once I found Miren, I uninstalled the dolphin and never looked back.
Love the stock browser the best.

Google made the stock browser ;-)
I use stock browser if it's AOSP, but I hate the Sense changes to it so I use Dolphin on Sense.
after playing with Miren for a bit, definitely a nice browser. Don't know why all the browsers want to be light blue or light green though.
Only thing seems missing is private mode.

What browser do you use on your charge?

I have been using xScope Pro w/pure black theme for the longest time now, I was tired at the time of dolphin's rendering issues. xScope still works well for me, its a super lightweight browser that renders very fast. Some of the UI just seems kinda dated, like all the pages(bookmarks, downloads, settings, etc) are like basic html text pages.
But now there seems to be alot of other browsers out there that may be a bit more clean and still be pretty quick. Over the last few days I've played with a bunch of browsers; stock browser, xScope, opera mini, opera mobile, skyfire, dolphin hd, dolphin mini, boat browser, and boat browser mini... so many choices.
I like dolphin mini, boat and boat mini the most as far as ui/features/speed. They all have a similar ram footprint, mini versions little less ram usage. But I noticed both dolphin hd & dolphin mini browsers tend to use more cpu when I was playing with them. Even well after the page was loaded and the browser was in the background I would see 2-4% usage pretty frequently. Enough to make it a strong negative against. Still haven't picked one for sure, but boat browser is looking better and better.
Kinda curious what everyone else uses.
I'm kind on the same boat as you're, but at the end I'm back to xScope. It's the fastest and very low over head. My main goal is speed, not bells and whistles. I used this browser to open facebook and it's the fastest. Facebook app is nice but it run as a service and used up a lot of battery while idling and cpu also. I would save about 2hrs battery life after uninstall facebook.

I was also using xScope pro with the pure black theme for a while, but like you I eventually got tired of it. I am now using Maxthon with the black theme and so far I like it. It is feature-rich, with great performance, and the UI is an improvement over xScope. You should give Maxthon a try and see what you think.
PS the pure black theme for xscope is better looking than the black theme for maxthon however

Naked Browser is not owned by Google and it is a not for profit app.
On the other hand, Google gives major funds to Firefox so in a way Firefox is pwned by Google.
Dolphin, Maxthon, Boat...most Android browsers spy on you.
Naked Browser does not spy or monitor in any way and never will--not even any ads.
