thanks for sharing! any tweaks or custom ROM, or custom boot.img?
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk

Running the insecure Kernel and a handful of exposed modules but mostly just for superficial tweaks to things like the status & navigation bars. I'm eagerly awaiting some AOSP ROMs though.

Here are my results, one on WiFi and one on 4G. No performance tweaks at all.

S-Off, Skyfall 1.2 deodex running xPosed with Gravity Box and Sense 6 toolbox. Removed a few pieces of bloat as well.
I know benchmarks don't mean much but this blew me away.

Just curious for those in an aws market do you get any symbols or different 4g lte icons to indicate that you are on the new network or do you have to guess by the speeds?

No the icon is the same. Even in settings and network information it still shows LTE. You pretty much have to guess by the speeds. On the s4 you can dial *#0011# and it will tell you which band you're on (band 4 is aws band 13 is standard LTE). I have yet to find a way to determine the current band on this device

Impressive. Mine isn't anywhere near that here, but it is in the 15Mbps range, very good.
is the speedtest app even accurate? try speakeasy.net from your browser then post your results.

Hes likely on EE4. Which is accurate for Froyo. I've hit the 30's before and I live in Houston. There's another guy on here that has 38Mbps downstream in his sig I think, in Houston.
I peaked at 23mbps here on the north side of Fort Worth. Which is still pretty awesome. Now though I get a constant 10-15mbps pretty much all around the area.
Yea im on the EE4, with Speakeasy and 3 bars i get 25mbps download.

How do you see your 4g signal strength?
Im pulling the same speeds here in garland! Verizon is the best.

Yeah the max i get here in San Antonio is 22mbps. Just came over from sprint with an evo 3d and i couldn't be happier.

Wow, those are amazing speeds! The best I've seen in is 22 around I35W & 820 north. Unfortunately, though, I live in Denton and work off 35W where the signal is splotchy.
if you upgrade to the 2.3.4 leak, the speedtest.net app isn't reliable....

I'm in Austin Tx. We just got 4g last week and it's SLOWWWWW. On the app Speed test I go 71ms ping with 4.86dn and .62up. With Speakeasy I got 6.61dn and .67 up.
It's in the same ball park as the 3g. Not too happy with it right now.

What are your benchmarks and speeds?

I just wanted to see what other people are getting out of this phone

Great speeds. I've gotten up to 17 Mbps down. I notice you are getting really high pings like I sometimes have. Anyone know why they are so high? I never got anything close to those pings on Verizon or AT&T.
No idea.. by far the longest ping time on any of my devices. G2x, Amaze, MT4G Slide.. weird.

Think we need to wait for the kernel sources to be released, I get really ****ty speeds on CM9, and I believe it's because the kernel is only optimised for the stock ROM.

My battery life has been horrible, don't know if it's because of the LTE but it sucks
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I have noticed slightly subpar battery life. Normally I could go 12-15 hours on a charge, now only 10-12. Running clean Rom 2.6 I think. This could be the LTE or chrome that I just downloaded. How has your reception been? I continuously lose service, I'm hoping it's because they're messing with LTE. It only happens in LTE areas
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
My battery life has been a little worse. I went to Sawgrass today and lost my LTE so I'm guessing they may still be testing out west in some areas. I also went to Miami lakes today and lost LTE once I left Miramar.. Overall it's been a good experience though.. Im gonna test now and see if my LTE connection at the house is faster than wifi.. LOL..

Go into the dialer and type *#*#4636#*#*
Now go into phone information. You may be able to select LTE from there.

The G icon is a known problem with any TORXX ROM. Search the viper thread.
So what rom do u reccomend?
Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
From what it seems like, you should have 4G. When not using data, your device switches to 3G mode (saves battery). As soon as you start to use data, it switches to 4G. US ROMs show the 4G icon at all times, but the same thing happens. EU ROMs show H instead of 4G but, again, it's all the same. Viper has a glitch where it shows G instead of H, it is annoying.
If you are still skeptical, try what someone mentioned above by typing to code into the dialer and choosing WCDMA preferred or auto modes. As for what ROM to use, it's all the same regarding data. I am on T-Mobile US and use viperOneS with full and stable 4G speeds. I also have the latest radio from the latest EU OTA; 2.31 or something like that.

As they say, opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one...I'd try them all and see what you can live with. Viper seems to be the most feature rich Sense ROM, but you have to accept that your signal indication may not be accurate. As they say in the Viper thread, just think of G as "Great" signal...try running a speed test and you'll probably see that you are getting 4G speeds when it says G

I am sure that is the new XLTE. It's been in parts of Chicago, New York and LA on the Droids since the November OTA update, when the AWS bands were activated with a radio firmware update. 50/25 is much better than most people see on the old 700 Mhz LTE.
anyone know when upstate SC is gonna get xLTE? as a side-note when Seneca/Clemson got 4G LTE, (literally the day of) I was getting 24-28 mps down according to speed test. Now It is half of that (traffic). It was literally ridiculous how blazing fast it was.
