Impressive. Mine isn't anywhere near that here, but it is in the 15Mbps range, very good.

is the speedtest app even accurate? try speakeasy.net from your browser then post your results.

Hes likely on EE4. Which is accurate for Froyo. I've hit the 30's before and I live in Houston. There's another guy on here that has 38Mbps downstream in his sig I think, in Houston.

I peaked at 23mbps here on the north side of Fort Worth. Which is still pretty awesome. Now though I get a constant 10-15mbps pretty much all around the area.

Yea im on the EE4, with Speakeasy and 3 bars i get 25mbps download.

How do you see your 4g signal strength?

Im pulling the same speeds here in garland! Verizon is the best.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA Premium App

Yeah the max i get here in San Antonio is 22mbps. Just came over from sprint with an evo 3d and i couldn't be happier.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App

Wow, those are amazing speeds! The best I've seen in is 22 around I35W & 820 north. Unfortunately, though, I live in Denton and work off 35W where the signal is splotchy.

if you upgrade to the 2.3.4 leak, the speedtest.net app isn't reliable....

Should be in the top right hand corner.

DAMN! Thats crazy, I hit 18MB down in Jacksonville, FL.

There must be some very powerful towers here in Dallas..

I'm in Austin Tx. We just got 4g last week and it's SLOWWWWW. On the app Speed test I go 71ms ping with 4.86dn and .62up. With Speakeasy I got 6.61dn and .67 up.
It's in the same ball park as the 3g. Not too happy with it right now.

Pardon my bluntness, but a number is just a number with no real meaning without a reference. I was taught in tech school to ask “What is the reference?” To answer your question, I live outside Phoenix, AZ and I am getting EDGE speed of around 12KB/Sec. I am out in the desert 20 miles from the closest small town. What is odd is I get better download speed here than I get in the two closest towns. In Maricopa and Casa Grande I get 5KB/Sec down and 2KB/Sec up.
Richmond, Virginia ive seen it hit 12mbps. Then again we have all the secksy here connection wise.

I'm in the St Louis area... I get 7 and 8 megs on my MyTouch Fender half the time, and almost never below 5m.
This SGS4G? See the sig....
5161 kbps per 1mb test
/edit just so you know i am only commenting for conversation. I am on galaxy s captivate......
Not to be a downer but some of these results arent very impressive. I just got:
4.43mbps down
1.30mbps up which translates to
566 Kilabytes/sec down
165 Kilabyes/sec up
in Orlando, Florida while driving on the highway at 70mph on my captivate with HSDPA 3g. Now those with 9mbps is pretty impressive I've gotta say.

Mines not doing so well .. averaging about 2.8mb down and 2.1mb up. I've seen 5 to 6mb a couple of times but for the most part its 2.8 or so. On wifi I get between 5 and 6 consistently. I say throw out the g stuff and lets do it all on wifi.. =/
This is in the Metro Phx Az area..
Samsung Galaxy S 4g
12mb up.. .6mb...
Down kicks a$$.. Up is a bit slow.. Latency/ping is what counts to me.. And 60~80 kills any other carrier... my sprint evo was 3 to 4mb down... But with 200 to 300 latency everything seemed to be the opposite of snappy....

This is during non-network-congestion hours too, so make sure you factor that into this speed result.

Try this to get your 3g data back. It wont bring back your 4g, but youll also not be stuck on 1x.
That tweak is old. You can just download LTE switch to do same thing.
What the OP is saying is Verizon is having issues right now on both 3g/4g, the only thing available is 1x.

I was in North Attleboro a few weeks ago (not far from Boston but not super close) and was getting 3-4 bars on LTE. Download speeds were around 26 (can't remember what upload was).
Not overly impressive but I suppose if I was closer to Boston it would've been better...
