I need some help - HTC One S

Hi guys,
Im brand new to all this rooting and ROM stuff and would really like some help.
I recently rooted my HTC One S (ville) using Hassoon2000's program. Ive got TWRP and made my back ups.
What do I do next? Ive downloaded Cyanogenmod 10.2 to my phone and I want to install Cyanogen but not sure if theres anything I need to do 1st before going into Clockwork ROM Manager and installing the ROM - I dont want anything to happen to my phone if theres an important piece of info that has been overlooked.
I really would appreciate your help.
Thanks

Find the matching RUU for your phone and then you have much less to worry about. Then after flashing ROM remember to flash the boot.img if you are S-ON.

[Q] Original HTC Rom

Hi there, im a bit of a noob when it comes to the HTC, ive had an n900 for a while and loved the customizability of it, OC'ed, running android etc. Ive Just now got the HTC Desire HD, after 2 days of owning it i decided to mess with it. Ive successfully rooted it and installed the cyanogen 6 ROM... trouble is i never backed up the original Desire HD rom (noob) lol, cyanogen works perfectly but i havent quite figued out how to install Gapps. Has/does anyone know where i can get the original HTC Desire HD ROM from? Maybe im missing something somewhere but i cant seem to find it.
Sorry for pleading help on my first post, but i will be modding loads later once i get my head round it all... hopefully i'll be some help to someone.
Thanks in advance
Dave

[Q] Is it possible to install MIUI on official 2.3.5 (Sense 3.5) update?

Hello,
first of all, sorry for being a noob, I hope this question wasn't asked anywhere else (I checked but couldn't find anything about it)
I bought the DS about 4 Months ago and really, I love it. Still, I would like to tweak it a little bit and give MIUI a try! BUT I'm reaaaally afraid of screwing my phone up! (I had a HTC Magic which I rooted and flashed several times but here it seems to be a totally different operation).
Here are my questions:
1) Is MIUI installable on UPDATED (Android 2.3.5 and Sense 3.5) HTC Desire S with OFFICIAL HTC OTA update yet?
2) Is it possible to backup my files and fallback to my old settings easily?
3) Is the battery life convincing on MIUI? (I feel great with 2 days of middle-intensity use.)
4) Could someone guide me through every different steps? There are so much links everywhere I dunno where to look and I'm afraid to miss important things etc. etc. This would really be so much appreciated and after that I could do a toppic (if needed) with every information concentrated for noobs like me ;-)
Thanks in advance!
Thomas
PS: sorry for my english!
1.MIUI is completely different rom and u can install whatever Sense rom u have.
2.yes.Use nandroid backup or Titanium backup for apps
3.battery life is good on miui.
4.for this one u need to use search.i'll just give u this link to start http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146601
Thanks a lot for that fast answer, iI'll take a look at that and come back if there are things I'm hesitating about!
Little question: I know it's a different rom, I meant, is it possible to S-Off and root Updated HTC Desire S and then Flahs MIUI yet? Considering it's been updated the official way ^^
EDIT:
Okay so, if I get it right: I need
1) to S-Off (if my updated device doesn't fit the conditions it should be refused on revolutionary website)
2) to ROOT (Gingerbreak or Superoneclick APKs)
3) Do I need to install a custom recovery? for example ClockWorkMod? (it's written in OUTDATED on the tutorial, is it a problem?)
4) Then I should be able to flash MIUI
Right?
Thanks a lot
Yep, you've got it

Thanks a lot!
I'd like to try rooting and flashing today but on Revolutionary page they say we need HTC Drivers for fastboot: they provide a download link which is dead, do you know where I can find them? To be sure not to download the wrong files?
EDIT: Files are back on, sorry!
Updated HTC Desire S is HBOOT 2.00.0002 which isn't supported by revolutionnary :-( can't root for now...
Then you need to downgrade first.

Oh I think i'm starting to get it hehe
Is downgrading a simple operation or is it difficult? Shouldn't I wait for revolutionary to support my HBOOT? Will it take long? Sorry for being a noob but I really wanna do things well.
Thanks a lot for your answers!
its simple but please search and read all instructions.it takes 10 sec
Roger that !
Thanks a lot for your help !
I'm pretty sure that htcdev.com will be able to s-off your device. It's not listed in the official devices, but many people reported its working. It seems much easier, as you won't need to downgrade.

[Q] I'M a NOOB I need Serious Help PLEASE!!!

I bought a HTC Amaze from some guy and it works great except for my data connection being slow. It is rooted with what I believe to be an energy Rom for the Amaze. I think the rom is making the phones data slow but I could be wrong. the phone doesnt do any other weird things that im aware of. I need a step by step tutorial on how to unroot the phone so that I may be able to see if that is the issue. Can someone please help me?
Just flash a stock ROM. You can find one in the Amaze section of the forum. If you don't know how to flash there are also step by step instructions.

thank you for the response but I clicked on your link and tried to find information on just where and how to get and flash the stock rom but unfortunately Everything I read looks like another language.. Is there any way to guide me through the locating of the stock rom and installing? I would forever appreciate it. Plus do you know of phones having data issues after flashing certain roms?

Quick question regarding official ROM

Hi guys
Just trying to put a new ROM on my HTC Desire S, I have been using Cyanogenmod 7.2 and was trying to get either the official UK MIUI 4.0 ROM or Cyanogenmod 10 (experimental) working, both installed but neither would boot (stuck on HTC boot screen).
Managed to get an old MIUI running on it for the time being but still want one of the ones above.
My question is, do I need to upgrade to the official android 4.0 ROM first before either of the custom ones will work? I have it downloaded and ready to install but I'm worried that it will un-root my phone, lock my bootloader and uninstall my recovery
Currently I have
SAVA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.00.0002
Any other tips? Really want a custom android 4.0 rom
Thanks
Chris
Also, one more question, do you think it's because of my recovery that the ROM's won't boot after installing? I am using 4ext but I've tried to install clockworkmod using ROM manager but it continues to load up to 4ext, not sure if this will actually make a difference.

Maybe you forgot to install the boot.img? Your DS is S-ON so you have to install it manually.

OP is another person who doesn't want to actually search or read before asking questions.
Read Ben's Index thread. The reason people like Ben put so much effort into creating threads like that is so that people like the OP can read and find all the information they need before asking the same questions that dozens of other lazy people have asked before.
Look at S-ON, boot.img, hBoot, LCD Panel type etc - make sure that your phone is in a condition where it is capable of running the newer ROMs.

Thanks for the link, I did do an awful lot of searching and messing around before asking, there's an awful lot of information to take in and most of it isn't relevant to me, definitely not lazy, I've done this all before without having to ask but this time I was stumped.

I gave you four key things to check (although the first two are kinda linked). If any one of those things is not correct for the ROM you are trying to install then you will fail to boot. Those things are relevant to EVERYBODY installing a ROM, even more so for any of the newer ROMs.

Are there any instructions for installing CyanogenMod 10? I had a good look through the thread but couldn't find any, I understand that there are specifics depending on which ROM but when there's no obvious instructions it's quite difficult.
Thanks
Edit: It has to be flashing the boot.img file after flashing the ROM, I seem to remember having to do that before.
Thanks for everyone's help, I knew it was something obvious I was missing.
In the index thread there is this. Step 4, been said too many times.
The reason guys like u get stuck is because u jump straight to dev section and say there is no proper instruction there.
All the proper instructions and need to know is in the general section and index. Read those first before proceeding to dev section and u will do fine.

Rain987 is right. I also think this is the reason why you need 10 posts to be allowed to post in dev section. Little bit offtopic, but okay :/
