I'm Dutch also and I use Google Keyboard, practically the same as AOSP but with Dutch dictionary, Swype and some extra functionality. It looks exactly the same and since Google made it it's not really third party is it? It can be found in the Playstore but I can't install it on my Moto G so I searched for the APK and installed it manually. Works like a charm. You can find it here: http://d-h.st/297 I got the link from this article on XDA so it's perfectly legit.: http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...esponds-to-take-a-picture-and-record-a-video/
You are welcome

I was super happy with Better Keyboard on my Galaxy S but one day it automatically updated to a new version and now it will only work if I buy it. If I knew this was going to happen I would have never updated it. I even tried looking for the older version online but I could not find it.
So I was wondering what is the best FREE keyboard alternative out there? I don't use swipe but I do need the keyboard to be able to use accents (like ç, á, ô and so forth). Any suggestions?
I use thickbuttons its free..
i use gingerbread keyboard. Very good keyboard, highly customizable!
I've read that the only thing that doesn't work after the Swiftkey trial ends is the prediction? Is this right? If so I'm going to stick with it. I've just downloaded the trial and it's really great.

Swiftkey stops working after 30 days. They're sticklers about that.
If you like typing, I suggest the Gingerbread keyboard or the HTC IME that you can download from the nexus forums.
Swype is also available online. Google it.
hy. I use the HTC ime mod. today i try the swiftkey free,and the prediction of this keyboard are fantastic!
but htc ime have a key for the emotic,and use special char is easier.
there isn't a keyboard with the layeault of htc ime mod and prediction of swiftkey right?
Gingerbread keyboard is really nice.
I had Swype installed by default on my Defy and it was the first thing I installed when I got my Nexus S. I love it.

patiently waiting for the release an official ics..

i am using "Smart Keyboard", it gives me the choice between a t9 and compact keyboard, i was using n81 before switching phone and i was not used to qwer keyboard.
Try MultiLing keyboard. It's feature rich and has good layouts for many languages (additional symbols on long press etc.). I prefer it over any other keyboard. Tried Smart Keyboard, Perfect Keyboard etc. - MultiLing is the best.
Try Touchpal keyboard on the Play market. It is a great award earning keyboard and is very popular on many devices as pre-installed keyboard. It provides swype input, T9 input and many other great features for all languages.
I also have a problem whith the keyboard in ICS related to language changing. As I understood in CM9 I need to hold the space and then choose the lang in popup. This way is a little bit slow for me, and I downloaded the SmartKeyboard from the Play market. It's nice and very customizeble.

Hi there, many of you might already be aware of this but just to make it to notice for people who still did not get this awesome jelly bean keypad. I have been typing this whole message using the same keypad and it rocks. You can either flash it or just use it as a standalone app. Links for the two are provided. voice input works perfectly using this keypad.
Screenshots are provided.

i see lots of 4.2 keyboards leaks
which one to use?
also is it better than latest touchpal/swype?
Love the keyboard. Using now. As it builds up a pattern of my use its prediction seems to get better. Most of the time one ,or two letters and the word is up. LOVE THE SWIPE! With the big letters

Better do not flash it untill you have taken back up of samsung keyboard. But then again, sometimes flashing does not work. Better install it as standalone app. I have done it like that and it works excellently.

This is not one of those apps available in play store. It is the one ported from 4.2 jellybean Which is still not released and its an excellent one. We will see this once 4.2 is released.

Just install it from the Play Store. (Yes, it's the 4.2 keyboard. Not 4.1)
where is the link?
Sorry guys, the links are dead but I have the apk file and I will attach it in next post. I don't have it stored in my cell as of now.
I have personally not tried any other language other than English, but yes there is an option to enable Swedish.

Here is the APK file.
Here is the APK file attached. By default it has many languages listed in its language setting. All we have to do is enable them in language settings. I have not tried any language other than English. But yes, Swedish is listed too.

yes Swedish is almost always possible to enable so I get all the letters of the alphabet. that's not the problem though, the problem is they aren't swypable.

Downloaded and trying this keyboard. Response is quick, and auto correction is faster and more accurate than Swype, with the odd quirk here and there. I like the way you don't have to double circle over a letter to get the word to come up like you have to do in Swipe... For example, the words odd and letter were quicker to enter. Prediction and context seem to be much better as well. I like.
Not perfect:
Cannot see entire forum text box on my screen
Glitches while trying to go back and correct text
visibility of alternate characters, numbers still on separate page (would prefer a separate line of numbers above the letters, since a lot of modern text like passwords have numbers intermingled with letters).
Still, auto correct is pretty fast... I think this will be my go to keyboard!
I'm using stock 4.1.2
Does it has this keyboard coz the screenies looks same

Tried the general Android Q&A and got nothing. I'll try here.
How do I add keyboard dictionary languages to AOSP based roms?
you have to install that specific language input first;
than when you setup and check the spell check function, the dictionary will be downloaded automatically;
however asop keyboards kinda sucks for spelling, prediction and dictionary; if you really want a nice keyboard try swift keyboard app from app store;
30 days free and you'll never gonna go back after using it for a day; worth every cent paid for.
Install the language first? Need more detail. How would I go about that? The miui.us, for instance, has the language but it doesn't download anything when I select any other than system. Being us English.
I'm actually quite pleased with cm10 and other aosp roms that include other dictionarys. I think it spells and corrects nicely in my desired language. That's why I'm trying to find this out.
