So am I correct that if you use another launcher other than Stock sense the camera launch via landscape and volume button is no longer possible?

You're pressing it with the screen off or on? I believe it is only intended to work with screen off.
I think it's because I'm using screebl. Never mind

I've seen there is script for HTC Desire to allow changing the wake up other than the power button, do we have one for Droid 2? I like to either use the menu or home to wake it up instead of power. TIA.
not unless you figured out a way to get physical buttons on it... the capacitive buttons are unresponsive when the phone is asleep or else it would be awake 24/7 in your pocket and your battery life would be nil

It's true, we have the same feature for the Droid incredible. But the difference is that we have a physical button that we can press.

I see, just my wishful thinking .
You can download the app NoLock and then you can unlock/wake-up the phone with any of the physical buttons; ie volume, camera, and power buttons, but you will lose the lockscreen. Or you could get WidgetLocker, also can use physical buttons to wake-up, but you still have the lockscreen.

Im looking to create or find a widget/button to change the volume. My goal is to have one button on my home screen that turns the volume down one notch per click, another for volume up and one for mute. Im planing on mounting my tablet in my car and i would be able to get to the dells side volume buttons. I have launcher pro, desktop visual, tasker as my main apps for customization. Thanks guys in advance

I assume that you mean the hardware buttons. From left to right at the bottom of the device
HOME button, Menu/Options button, Back button and Search button
To turn off vibrate
Settings->Sound Settings->General->vibrate = OFF
Settings->Sound Settings->Feedback->vibrate feedback = OFF
Thanks. I knew I saw this option somewhere but could not remember.
Btw. The buttons are called softkeys

Settings--sound & notification--other sounds-- uncheck vibrate on touch.
Is there an app that can end a call? i am using CM7, it will be very usefull if there is such an app that i can assign it to the long press of the search key
why not just use the end call button?

I would think it'd be rather difficult to hold the search key when I could just press the huge red button

i brought up this point is because, sometime when i accidentally press the home key, or need to check other info during a call, then, it will just become convenient with an app like that

WidgetLocker has the ability
Just tried it, checked the box in settings, but no dice
Uninstalled and got a refund.
Any others?
no lock?
or
Screen Off and Lock?
Thanks, already tried both of them because they worked on my og evo, but no such luck
Coming from the galaxy s2 I do miss the power button on the side, hoping to find a solution still

Actually, I used to have a Nexus One and the power button was broken. To circumvent that, I had to use an app called AnyUnlock. I turned the screen on with the volume rocker and you could also use a widget to turn the screen off (rather than using the power button to turn the screen off). Which I suppose could be useful if you have smaller fingers or something and didn't want to make the reach. Very, very useful app when your power button stops functioning.

I'm sure it uses the same method that the other apps use and it even says in the description on their app page that it only works on Froyo and GB.
Yea seems like all of them don't work with ics urrrrrrrrr

Volume Rocker Wake works on CM9 Alpha 5
I've been using CM9 Alpha 5 for a few hours now and it's great !
The first think I set was the Volume Rocker Wake as the Power Button is not as easy to press when using most cases covering the power button.
To enable it, go to SETTING --> DISPLAY --> VOLUME ROCKER WAKE
it enables waking the phone by pressing the volume rocker EITHER up/down.
There is no way to specify one or the other
However, it works great ! I'm really liking CM9, my only complaint is the missing HTC Camera which was just amazing with the hardware burst (I'm still looking for a way to flash it if that's even possible).
