My thoughts exactly????

I would think it'd be rather difficult to hold the search key when I could just press the huge red button

i brought up this point is because, sometime when i accidentally press the home key, or need to check other info during a call, then, it will just become convenient with an app like that

I assume that you mean the hardware buttons. From left to right at the bottom of the device
HOME button, Menu/Options button, Back button and Search button
To turn off vibrate
Settings->Sound Settings->General->vibrate = OFF
Settings->Sound Settings->Feedback->vibrate feedback = OFF
Thanks. I knew I saw this option somewhere but could not remember.
Btw. The buttons are called softkeys

Settings--sound & notification--other sounds-- uncheck vibrate on touch.

I used it but it dont work in KPH, it crash. And if it works, it have problems when incoming calls with the phone in your pocket, because it reduce the volume and sometimes you cant hear it.

Map long press of multitask button to search?

Is there any way through the build prop to map the long press of the multitask button to search? That way when I'm on the home screen I can hold the button and voice search will start up.
Hoping someone has an answer to this. I was able to change the button itself to search on the build.prop but I can't figure out how to change long press.

Mind sharing what you changed in build.prop to get the search button working?

How do you take a screenshot on Android 4.2 without a hardware volume or home button?

The only hardware buttons I have are Power and Esc.. oddly. Valid answers do not involve rooting or connecting other devices.
Cheers

Volume Down +Power

Set one of your soft keys "long press" to screenshot,,, not all ROMs have this ability though
Amazing that someone actually said "volume down and power"...
Anyway turns out you just go to settings > screenshot settings > enable button. Or something like that. All very obvious really.

Almost all ICS+ devices have Volume Down + Power button for screenshot if I'm not wrong. That's why I said it

Are you running a custom ROM or is it stock AOSP?

Again, this is already answered. And again by me. Doesn't this forum have a "mark as answered" button?
Come to think of it the last time I got an answer here was probably before these forums included Android. Not sure why I still bother..

They are a bit hidden
Go to the phone app then long press the multitask button (the square capacitive key). This brings up the calls settings including call forwarding.
