who is going to manufactore it? LG/Lenovo?
If only nokia was able to break away from microsoft and make an android phone :-\

I highly doubt the Nexus 6 will have all of the features listed in the article. They sound like a smartphone fanatic's wet dream....
SOUNDS GREAT!
by LG still?
What about Nexus 8? Any news?
I post updates on specs
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
According to respected website,*International Business Times, the Nexus 6 is expected to be built by LG. The website also suggests that the Nexus 6 will be largely built on the designs of the 2014 LG flagship smartphone the*LG G3.
The websites also reports that the Nexus 6 will be based on the following specs:
•** *5.5-inch QHD display
•** *1440 x 2560 resolution (534ppi)
•** *Octa-core MediaTek processor
•** *64-bit processor
•** *Fingerprint scanner
•** *IP67-certified dust-proof and water-resistant device
For now, these specs are still largely rumours, however, they are all specs that Google would be hoping to achieve. A Nexus device with a 534 pixels per inch display, 64-bit processor and fingerprint scanner would be a very impressive smartphone indeed, especially if it retains the traditionally low and Google subsidised Nexus price tag. (And LG has a good track record of making Nexus phones.)
New Nexus 6 features: OS
As mentioned above, Google is expected to include a 64-bit processor and some sort of a fingerprint sensor on board the Nexus 6, to bring it inline with the*iPhone 5S*andSamsung Galaxy S5.
Other than that, we expect the other Nexus 6's key new features to be software based.
As ever, Google will reveal more information about its software and OS advances at it annual I/O conference, which is due to take place in June.
As yet, information about what Google will or will not bring to is latest update to its Android OS is thin on the ground. However has Google 4.4 KitKat was a pretty minor update to the OS, a lot of people are optimistic for a more significant advance in features, for when Android moves on to its 4.5 (Probably codenamed "Lion Bar" or "Lollipop") operating system.

So I just saw this article about the Vertu TI - that will cost approx $10,700.
Starts at 7,900 euros, or about $10,700
Specs:
TI a 3.7-inch touchscreen,
a dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 processor,
and an 8-megapixel camera.
There’s also NFC and 64GB of internal storage, plus a front-facing webcam.
Clearly the reporters don't know much because they stated that it is Up-to-date with the OS running ICS
"Luckily, Vertu is mostly up-to-date on Google’s OS. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is installed and it’s smooth and speedy:"
According to reports " the TI is gorgeous, understated, and elegant, while remaining purposeful and unique"
Honestly I think it looks hideous. Esp with that price for the phone it better be made of gold.

why would you need this? this looks absolutely ugly compared to stock android
I'd totally buy if i had the cash, and use it as a phone for leisure, would go well with my GS3, IMO.
Great to see a Vertu smartphone running a post-2010 OS, they were really being held back by Nokia and Symbian.
I think it is realy weird they don't use a propper Hardware for that amount of money and at least Android 4.1.x for a new Device

I agree. For the price, it seems to fall short on a lot of aspects. They should at least provide something worth the cash (equal to the specs of a mid-high end computer) rather then attempting to exploit people :/
Vertu again? Oh I remember those days when they modified and tried to sell some obscenely overpriced Nokia back in the days when nokia ruled.
Silly ... And by the way, this one here looks kinda ugly and those buttons look really cheap.
Wherever there is lots of money, bad taste isn't far behind...

I think it is really weird they don't use a latest Android and proper hardware too for such a high priced phone.
They should try to provide something worth for money.
I dont like it
Absurd is the first word that comes to mind for me.
Anyone seen a video of the "unique" interface? I'm interested to see what they did to android to partially justify the outrageous cost.
That phone is fugly!

Many of us here must be tech news followers and remember when the Nexus 5 was released, an article came up on the web about the hint Google gave for nexus 5 in the Jellybean 4.3 Camera. The small icon of a device for switching to front camera had the same design language as of Nexus 5 and this 4.3 update was of time when Nexus 5 was still not released. Overall, I just mean to say that Google teased Nexus 5 in 4.3 update.
[Q]So whats the matter now? Why did I make this thread?
Ans.Yesterday, Google released Google Camera on Play Store and even though it received some negative comments, I thing in which I was interested was the picture of the device that showed up on the One-time Instruction screen to take the shot when I switched to Panorama mode. The device did not represent Nexus 4 or Nexus 5 or not even any of the device of Nexus lineup. So which device does this picture represent? Well, according to me it is the Nexus 6. The camera lens definitely looks like the one on the Nexus 5, but its in the center. So it clearly suggests that its a similar device to Nexus 5 but not exactly Nexus 5. So the only contender that remains is Nexus 6.

To support this teaser, I have one more proof to present here. As everybody knows, last two generation of Nexus devices were based on the corresponding yearly flagship of LG. The simple reason was that LG was the manufacturer of the Nexus devices for last two years and according to rumors, the same trend will continue. So we can safely assume that Nexus 6 will be based of LG G3. Below is the leaked picture of LG G3 and one can clearly make out that it looks quite similar to he device on the screenshot above.
Final Verdict: Considering the way Google teased Nexus 5 in 4.3 camera, Google's trend of getting the LG flagships as base and the rumors, I think that the Nexus 6 will have the same design language as the device in the instruction screen for taking Panorama in Google Camera.
What are your opinions folks?
I think HTC

In the below mentioned news or site you can say .. The site is suggesting its going to be HTC..
http://www.thewestsidestory.net/2014/04/16/google-nexus-6-manufactured-htc-report/
Hey guys I am moving from VZW to ATT and I am unsure if I should just get the Nexus 5 or wait till the 6 is released? I am a fan of larger phones (Note 2, 3). Not sure if I should just wait it out or jump right in?
Thanks all,
BillyBrickz
questions go into the q&a section, not general. ask a mod to move your thread please. anyways, the n6 hasn't been released yet, and everything is all rumor about it. do your question can't really be answered yet. but really, if you want a larger than a n5 size screen device, then wait. if not, buy a nexus 5.
Wait until the Nexus 6 is out and there are good reviews to look at. If possible, go to a store and try one out for yourself. Only then purchase if it meets your needs.
if you want screen just go with nexus 6.ne mobile could come near tothis for atleast two years.but if you want roms and other development it would get a lot of time.I think nexus 5 is best leave the screen but with all roms and everything its the best
guys,
is the nexus 5 still one of the best phones available? i realize there are a new bunch of flagships out and am wondering if i should pick up a cheap nexus 5 or go big with the moto x 2014? i love the customization of roms and kernels the nexus brings to the table but am concerned about buying a phone that's a year old almost. any help/insight?

Oooh. I don't know but it looks legit. Though has some errors.
Like a Xperia device with an HTC look?
And it wouldn't be called nexus 4 like you said in the title.

Sorry to correct you but the new nexus device could very well be call the nexus 4 2015 but it would more than likely not be made by Sony it would be by Motorola again because each company that google goes with it seems that they let that company make 2 phones then they move on as for it being called the nexus 4 2015 there has been a lot of talk that it will be called the nexus 4 2015 and or the nexus 5 2015 just like the 2 nexus 7s also it would not be coming out until 2016 but that's my though on the date but it could come out this year though not until October or later

Nah i think googles endgame is to cycle through as many quality OEMs as possible, ingraining android and also forcing the companies to perform under its own quality standards. Each company thats made a google device has subsequently reached new heights. Asus and LG are making excellent stuff nowadays. I own a TF701 and its the best 10 inch tablet in existence for me.

Prolly not now no...
I dont know about most of you guys but I am not too impressed by the leaked specks of the Nexus 5X and probably skip it. Just found out Xiaomi announced their new phone called the Mi 4c and its pretty much the the same if not better than the Nexus 5X

Its about $235 and has an ir blaster and bigger battery. Since its using the Snapdraogin 808, Im sure you can load up AOSP and other popular roms.
So what do you lot think?
Anyone know where to import one to the UK?
the question is... will it have a large developer support?? same as nexus devices?? thats the big question. may have some developer support but not as huge as nexus devices
I'm in America, I can't even get a Xiaomi phone if I wanted one, they don't run on American LTE bands. Xiaomi will be better, Nexus devices are only good for ROM development. They always suck in battery life, camera, and features, and this is coming from a current owner of the Moto Nexus 6. Nexus will have way more developer support and receive updates way faster, Xiaomi phones hardly receive updates and if you're getting from somewhere other than Asia/India, customer support will be nonexistent.

i would agree to this. but xiaomi is also not that known here in my country even we are in asia. nexus still wins in my own opinion. nexus reaches here although through a 3rd party seller and they sell it way up higher than how much it is sold in its mother land.

I prefer the nexus 5x
Well since it uses Snapdragon 808 like the Nexus 5X, there should be rom support
hmm i am not really that fan of nexus
Looks like Nexus 5X will have 2gb ram whereas the Mi 4C has 3gb
We can't buy it in China... Shipping is expensive from outside.
