[REQ] Remove Nav Bar - Xperia Z1 Compact Themes and Apps

Hi all,
Introudcing my request for someone to implement a no-nav bar mod, either via Xposed or through any other way.
In order to maximise screen estate, I would use pie-related apps in order to emulate the nav bar buttons.
Thanks a lot.

There are many many ways out there, you can find them by doing a simple search
But persionally I prefer GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys ★ root for this matter,
or you can try this app (might need xposed) to do the job:
[APP][4.0+]Ultimate Dynamic Navbar
good luck

I agree, and I am using Xposed with GMD Gesture Control to replace it. For whatever it's worth, when I used auto hide soft keys, the green phone button on the dialer disappeared. Switched to Xposed method and haven't looked back.

Expanded desktop mode via gravity box

Just add this line "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" without the quotes in system/build.prop using a text editor.Reboot your phone and voila...no navbar. Before removing the navbar install LMT launcher or any other alternative. And for the dial button problem in phone app just install APP SETTINGS xposed module and set the Contacts dpi to 305 and everything will be perfect.

Brightness slider in notification window?

Hello all, so I have my Razri running exactly how I want it and am very happy with the phone.
Only one thing missing! Does anyone know of an app or a way to integrate a brightness slider into the slide down notification window? like in cyanogenmod?
Install the latest XPosed Framework and use a module called "Gravity". With that module you should be able to enable an invisible brightnessslider. You can use it by simply sliding your finger across the statusbar

Yea i've used that, thanks for the reply. I was really wondering if a proper slider could be used though. I suppose this will fill the gap for now though.
I want too.
I want that kind of control in my notification bar too.
I know an app is Easy Controller-Control Center ,,hope it serves you

I'm with you in dying for a Nexus 5 (and nexus 6) custom rom to have immersive mode/expanded desktop. Cyanogenmod is working on it, but even as of today (11/29), it's not in any builds made from unofficial CM12. The only thing to hold you over until a dev puts this in is that there is a an app from GMD for immersive mode. I don't like how it works (and requires an in-app purchase to make a line go away) so I don't use it and rather wait "patiently" for expanded desktop/immersive mode on custom roms, but it's there.

First u have to install LMT launcher (tap lmt launcher xda on google and u will find the app).
Second u have to configure LMT launcher which is PIE Control.
And third u have to install root browser and add this line at the end of system build.prop : qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Make sure LMT launcher is well configurated because it's not possible to bring back the original navbar after this.
Hope I helped u.

Any chance of being able to just hide the notification bar? So that it's still available like in-app immersive? Really like that the nav bar don't come up by the way, thx for that.
Edit - I'm doing this on a grouper. Just being point in the right direction would be great. But I got a feeling that what i'm asking is a little more complicated....

I use LMT for pie (works great) and the hide navbar method of qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 in build.prop same as you.
But it is possible to bring back the navbar launcher. Just navigate to your build.prop and delete the text you added "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" then reboot.

U can use a third part launcher as Nova to hide the notification bar on desktop and drawer but impossible to hide this one when u open an app.
I use Chrome Beta and the 3 dots reappears.

Thanks for the chrome beta advice! And with all respect would never switch from GELauncher to any other launcher! Its swift, fast & efficient!
I do miss the Gravity Box module & the whole xposed installer!
Wish I was a smart developer and could help xposed get on lollipop soon!
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Free mobile app
Missed xposed too. Still no news from devs of xposed. Hope something will arrive as a gift for 2015 .

Question about the latest update?

Hello!
So I just have a quick question about the latest update for the S8, where they removed black as an option for the Navbar color and enabled us to hide it (immersive mode).
Whenever you hide the navbar, how does the "swipe up" gesture work in reality? As in how "good" does it work? I remember (before the update) trying the immersive mode with Custom Navigation bar (app), and the swipe up gesture was bad, whenever I tried to get the navbar up, I was scrolling up in the app I was using as well..?

It works great. Much easier than previously. And here's a link on Reddit to get Black NavBar back, it works and is safe.

Alright great!
Nice! But how much different is that from this: https://www.xda-developers.com/change-galaxy-s8-navigation-bar-color/amp/ ?
I'd rather use ADB than download an apk from an unknown source

It's just easier than ADB, if you don't have the sdk downloaded or not around a PC. I used ADB to get rid of the battery icon in the status bar. The apk is just an overlay like all of these.

Yea alright, I just don't know the upload source, so ADB "feels" safer
Just installed it, works great, thank you indeed.

Navbar enabler for LineageOS (Magisk Module)

Hi,
I modified existing navbar enabler to make compatible with LineageOS and make capacitive button disable.
Just use Magisk to install it.

Hey, honest meant question: Why would you need an onscreen navbar when you have the buttons? Is it configurable in some way?

Because it is supposed to have the on screen nav bar in the first place. Also, the back and app switch buttons on the soft keys are placed incorrect. I find it hard to use the soft keys because I am used to the original placement of the buttons which is back on the left and app switch on the right.
Does this module works with stock Oreo (Feb security patch) ?
the dev has added support to enable navbar from settings itself, with customization.

Question 3rd Party Launcher with Vivid Navigation Gestures

In the app settings for Vivid Navigation Gestures, it has the option to hide the navigation bar. It says I can do it through ADB without root. Does anyone know how to do this or can give me steps to do this without root? Thanks!
so i entered the command (ive tried this with Fluid navigations also) that it gives to hide the navigation bar and it does not hide the buttons or the navigation bar... Is there a way to hide them and still use a 3rd party launcher with either Fluid or Vivid navigation apps? Thanks

Does not work on miui there is only one way I found without root that would work. I'll post it later. Much easier with root and no reason not to root
Ok. How would I do it if I did root? I'm just kinda worried I might mess up the phone.... If I only have a Mac computer can I still root? Thank you.

i know nothing about MAC you'll have to google.
use the app setedit you can download in the play store
use adb to get the proper permissions, if you check the app description in the play store it says the command you need to enter
select global table on the right side and find
force_fsg_nav_bar 1
i'm not sure if the standard value is 0 or 1 cause I already have mine changed. so if its 1 change it to 0. if its 0 change to 1.
you will have to do this everytime you reboot though
much easier and better to root, install magisk and hide with a module. read my tips/tricks thread on what you need to do
Thanks, the setedit app worked great. When I restart the phone, do i just have to go back in to change the value? That would be all I need to do to have it hiding the buttons? Thanks again!

Yes. There is a way to buy the app and it will auto do it when you reboot too. You'll have to try to figure it out
You can hide navbar without root using adb by changing into miui gestures overlay. It works until you reboot your decide, then you have to repeat.
Here's the command:
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural

Hey all:
Vivid Gestures keeps losing accessibility settings, and I need to keep reenabling it.
Does anyone else have this problem and (ideally) some kind of solution.
Thanks
Ok...
Started using Full Screen Gestures, and that seems to work better
You cant use third party launchers then, correct?
Full Screen Gestures is an app, an alternative to Vivid.
It seems to play nicer with the Fold 2.

And I'm using Niagra as my launcher, which is great with foldables.
