Hello Guys! Today i present to you a mod that i made. A lot of users had been complaining about the Sim Icon in the status bar of Galaxy S duos.
Well this mod is made to remove that.
So lets get to the guide straight away.
WARNING
This has been made on my device running XXBMD4 i have not tested this on any other version so install on your own risk.
This is based on the STOCK XXBDM4
I am not responsible if anything happens to your device after installing this.
This is similar to what has been implemented in cosmic ROM but i have not stolen it from there.
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1:
Go to http://d-h.st/WWx and download the SystemUI.apk
Step 2:
Transfer the file to your S duos.
Step 3:
Using and file manger (i prefer root browser) move the file to /system
Step 4:
Edit the permissions to rw-r--r-- (as shown below)
Step 5:
After the permissions have been changed move the file to /system/app
Step 6:
Reboot.
Enjoy and hit thanks if i helped you
Special thanks to
@abhi922 (for helping me with apkmultitool)
@Dev Jaskirat
PS in the photos i am using an xposed mod called tinted status bar. But this mod works even without the module.
Saved for later use
nice ......good work.:good:
@MufcTK
I moved the file and set the correct permisions but the status bar after restart don't show up....any solution ?
Thanks!
That is because you are using a different firmware/ROM than this is meant for.
Reflash the ROM or if you have a backup of the original systemui then use that!

Same here, obviously I followed the instructions like you said but after the restart all I see is a black background, no statusbar at all but the apps are working. Now I've messed everything up and I'm back to factory resetting (for the 138586589th time) xD

Patching Service.jar. Dose AlienRom have this? Because in AlienRom is working.

5.Reboot. Wait untill it's optimising all apps and Done!
BIG THANKS TO > -CALIBAN666- < FOR ALL HIS JOB !!!! Again, i just sharing
P.S. > You can go on his thread and ask him what do you want to include on service.jar

Hi! Friends...
I wanted the attractive navbar which the nexus (along with many other) devices had, and therefore did a little research.
Successfully tested on : Samsung Galaxy A5 (SM-A500G)
Note : I am not responsible if you did something wrong and ended up bricking your phone.
To start, you need your phone to be rooted, and a root explorer...
This works fine. LINK :-
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer&hl=en
Then open the explorer ,of course.
Next, navigate to /system/. There, you will find your build.prop
Open it in text editor.
Navigate to the bottom and type in the following - qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Save the file and exit.
Reboot your system and YAY! You are done. Enjoy your Navbar. :good:
Team DevDigitel Presents : Boot Animation Support For the Note 8!
This is just the beginning of the thread, I haven't seen much development here for Rooted Note8 users with the Snapdragon,
so i wanted to share one of many flash-able mods i'm working on.
This thread will be for boot animation support and Anyone can share their customer QMG based boot-animations if they would like,
If you got it from another location and didn't personally make it please make sure to give credits to the original author.
And as always, I can not be held liable for the damage or malfunction of your device using these files, you proceed at your own risk and remove my liability by continuing to the downloads portion of this post!
HOW TO USE:
Prerequisites - Have ROOT & Installed Busy-Box into /System/Bin
1.) Download FlashFire from Google Playstore : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.flash&hl=en
2.) Open FlashFire and grant it root permissions, once granted you will hit the RED + on the bottom right corner.
3.)Choose install Zip / OTA option and then select the desired zip to flash...
4.)This will bring you to a menu where you should select Mount System as Read / Write and then hit the Check mark in top right corner
5.)Now its time to hit the bottom button that says FLASH !
*The phone will go black as FlashFire does its thing and then it will reboot, you should now be good to go with the new mod! ENJOY
I did notice after the reboot that FlashFire had trouble opening and a soft reset resolved this, this is related to the app itself not my mod.
And remember to hit the THANKS Button at bottom of OP if this helped you out!

worst case you can pull the SPR_bootsamsung.qmg
and place it in its perspective location, if you could check and see its path of where the sprint logos are located then i can be 100% confident on a yes or no answer.
the note 8 has them placed under:
/system/omc/SPR/res/media
other carriers are listed in omc as well, so non sprint users could just move the qmg and put it under the right spot and rename the stock ones .bak and have them work also.
a non active phone would just look at
/system/media/
This sometimes is the place they are just located at and the other location may not exist. But the QMG that i've built will work on any Samsung, with dpi being the only thing that may be a issue on a super small screen may sqew the image.
how to remove the GuyFawks Mask BootLogo?

go to
system/omc/SPR/res/media/
delete SPR_bootsamsung.qmg
or flash the uncarrier mod, then go to that spot and remove the .off from the SPR_bootsamsung.qmg file to get the sprint logos back.
Can you do a tut or make a thread on how to customize these yourself. Maybe a video of how you made the anonymous an loading image To share with others. ?
Also. This worked great on my note 8. I had to remove a file called bootsamsungloop. To get rid of the Samsung boot image completely.

There are tons of tut on how to make a qmg style boot animation. The samsung device lineup uses them vs the bootanimation.zip
I used the old Samsung customization theme tool. You can convert most the bootanimation.zip ones to qmg using the tool.
Samsung also has a development program where they will convert them for you! You must choose a device similar to the note 8 that has a unlocked bl, so any exynos variant works, And you can NOT send in copy-written martial as they wont touch it and they have a strict size and img limit.
The location you found the bootanimation loop is the place you need to replace the bootanimation files, so i use just a basic updater script to install the stock one renamed to .bak or .off whatever bs you want and then the new one named correctly. Permissions set and boom.
A great tool to use is zipme from the playstore, if you are rooted you can just take the stock one and build it into a flashable zip using it and then just replace it inside the zip with the new one you want. open my updater-script in the zip and look at how the commands are set, its super rudimentary.
