After the new update steam no longer shows up in the list of things to stream.
I've tried adding it in the gamestream preferences on my computer but it doesn't work.
Does anyone have steam streaming working on the new update?
I would really hate to have to add each individual game since I have 226 installed.
EDIT: A bunch of games( portal 2, gta iv, mirrors edge and a few others) are now closing when I try to play them.
There's no error or anything. Really hoping this gets fixed or i'm just gonna go back to the previous version.

What's going on guys? I just started another thread recently but its for good reason!: I just got my Xoom and I'm trying to pimp it out to the most baller degree...
I'm a huge video game nerd and I've been DREAMING about connecting my Xoom to my HDTV, and playing Final Fantasy from my couch using my Xperia play as a controller.....
But, alas, as per all things both technological and amazing, it is not usable for me upon installation and minor tweaking....everything connects and works OK but the buttons are extremely laggy and only every other button press registers....as a result I can't really play games or do anything with it.
I know its not that the port isn't open because if it was closed then it wouldn't work at all right?
And I'm currently using the EOS ICS ROM and it does not seem I can use the wifi direct feature.
Anyone have any ideas as to why its so laggy and what I can do to rectify it??
thanks so much in advance....once I fix this I will be truly ecstatic.
Btw if there are any apps that would allow me to use the hardware keys of my Xperia for my Xoom whether by Bluetooth or something that would be helpful too. But from the ones I've used you can only use the touchscreen....

I tried it on Genesis and SNES...and on home screen....same input lag everywhere. Any specific ideas as to what could be bogging it down?

zulu i need some help i can not for the life of me get the button mapping to work i have a xoom working with galaxy i have the client on galaxy and server on my xoom i have put the droidmote kl and kcm in the right files. i have looked at ur posts and copied some mappings and saved them i rebooted my device and everything but it just wont work. i have played cordy on it and worked the media player but i am trying to play some nova 2 or mc3 or asphalt 6 but i just cant get it can u help me
Now all is automatic also on xoom and you can do all with DroidMote, you can also play with games that support only touch actions.

I live in a condo that doesn't allow more than basic cable so I currently use my PS3 to watch movies from Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and Crackle. I was curious if other apps work like Directv Everywhere, Max Go, Showtime Anytime, etc??
As far as games go what controller do most of you use? I bought the Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400 to use for now but I assume I'll want a good game controller.

My MD808B arrived today. I bought it through Amazon from Geekbuying. It did come pre-rooted. It's a very fast device that operates with little to no lag. Not the my pleasing (to the eye) homescreen but not bad. I hooked up my Logitech K400 keyboard and was off and running within a minute or two. As I mentioned in my first post my main focus was on the streaming apps. I went to Netflix first, the play store downloaded a table version of Netflix and it ran with no problem at all. I generally use my PS3 and there is a noticeable difference in quality. The MK808B looks much closer to the SD while the PS3 has a nice HD pic. I have limited speed here (about 3MB down) so that isn't helping.
Up next I went to HBOGo. It works as well. The only problem was when you go to the login screen you can't see the text boxes once the onscreen keyboard pops up. Outside of that it seems to work well. Quality is about the same as I get from my laptop, which isn't great but acceptable.
Maybe the most important to me is Directv Everywhere. The app downloaded, fired up quickly and searched moved quickly as well. However I can't get anything to play. It just has a circle in the middle of the screen as if it's buffering. I'll keep working on this one because it's so important to me but I'm not very optimistic.
Crackle's app is small and downloaded with no problem. It's not the easiest to navigate but it did work and the streaming quality was similar to the PS3, not HD but "ok".
I tried Hulu, as most of you know it didn't work. Saying it was't supported on this device.
MaxGo downloaded and starts up with no problem. However when I try to sign in it keeps going back to the main page and without signing in you can't watch the shows/movies.
Redbox Instant doesn't work if you're rooted but there easy work around is to the turn off the superuser features in the SU app. Once I did that I was able to use Redbox but the quality was below average and it buffered repeatedly. At this point it's not usable for me.
As for games I tried a few and so far only Angry Birds works for my setup. Others like Swat FT were impossible because of how it's designed. Temple Run 2 wouldn't start because you can't click on "Play". Real Basketball wouldn't allow me to click on start or click to close the game.
Well it's early and I'm not giving up on the device but right now I would have to say it's far from ready for prime time. It certainly serves a purpose and I'm sure there are ways to make the most out of it but it's more work than I had hoped. Back to more testing!

received my shield today, after an hour i was ready to go with all updates and stuff installed.
Installed also the newer beta drivers, 337.50 and GeForce Experience 2.0.
So whenver i launch a game in steam, i can hear audio on my shield, but screen is black. Game is playing fine on my monitor naturally.
Ive tried so far:
- reinstall drivers
- reinstall GeFoEx
- reboot pc and shield
A few games that are outside steam seems to load and play fine, but 2 OUTSIDE OF 300.
I understand that some games arent supported, but im talking about games that are supposed to work, such Borderlands 2 and Grid 2.
Please help? has anyone experienced such issue?

No, im on a desktop. Im about to throw this thing out of the window if i dont understand what is happening. Everything is a black screen, but i hear audio.

Open steam.
Select Steam/settings/account/beta participation/steam beta update/CHANGE/steam beta update/OK
Restart your PC and restart steam.

Nah, it wasnt it.
Turns out that it was the displaylink drivers i was using for my external usb monitors, that in someway interferee with shield streaming.
Once unistalled, it was all good.
Has anyone else with the Shield Tablet had a lot of problems with Game Stability? I'm not a hardcore gamer but I chose the Shield Tablet because I thought it would be good for Casual Gaming (including emulators), watching movies and editing photos (the stylus is awesome). Since getting it though I've noticed that most of the games I have are pretty unstable. The Simpsons Tapped Out won't launch at all and both NBA Jam and Riptide crash frequently...often times before I get to playing. Has anyone else had problems with this? Do these apps just need to be updated or is it something in the tablet that is unstable?
I checked the LogCat and most of the crashes are near this message:

I tried disabling the Control map feature but nothing changed.
I've had a few issues with apps here and there. The oddity I keep seeing is when the app will load but most
everything will show up white. This has happened to me using Dolphin Browser and Iron Force. I'm guessing
that the tablet likely needs to be patched somehow, seeing that it's brand new. I'll check logcat a little later
to see if there are any similarities.

Zero issue with apps on my shield
I'm still having trouble with this and finding more apps that don't work. Tonight I learned that TeamViewer just crashes whenever you try and Remote Control a computer. I really like a lot of the features on this tablet but this is my 10th Android device and it's by far the most unstable that I've ever used. I really hope that they have some software updates soon to address some of these problems.
So far no issues with mine.
Only got mine today and Simpsons: Tapped Out just crashes after the splash screen and Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff comes up with an error message on the loading screen, got this as an upgrade for my Kindle Fire HD but looks like I'm going to have to keep both tablets for now, hope it gets fixed.
I have most the issues, FamGuy runs, but it will bog down after a few minutes, sometimes it even sorta crashes then comes back with most of the assets black, like nothing visible but the characters and coin bubbles. The tapped out i believe is an issue more with the app than the tablet based on other forums but still....
One thing i personally noticed, it feels like the more graphically demanding a game is, the better it runs. Like dungeon keeper runs like **** in my bluestacks, and it runs ok on my moto x however, it runs like watching a movie on a 240hz tv for the first time on the shield. Super smooth and quick on everything.
all the tegra specific games i've put on run perfectly except for some controller issues and small things.
iron force will not work
iron force is literally the only game that I bought this tablet for to be able to connect it to my big screen and use the controller from the couch is anyone else having the issue with this game being mostly white and only certain objects showing up I have done the most recent updates on the tablet and contacted in video and they simply blame the app developer
I've had no problems.
It may have just been me, but I had no idea there were unlisted games in the play store. I accidentally do a search in there and up pops 3 to 5 games that aren't among the regular dozen. They're seemingly not android tv optimized, but they're there none the less.

You can install any app that otherwise wouldn't be blocked due to lack of a feature (such as touchscreen)
All the tv store does is not give an easy way to navigate to an app not whitelisted on the tv store.
Just go to the web site, and tell it to install chrome, it should install but it doesnt actually work with the remote (i've tested this on my ADT1, the NP should be no different)
Yeah i've already got chrome and side loaded a few apps. I was still just surprised to find hidden apps. I would buy modern combat 5 but mc4 controls lag.
