Hey guys I followed the correct instructions and downloaded the correct files (cf auto root and Google drivers) but my PC can't find/detect my device and because of that when I run the windows command it stays on "waiting for device" and nothing happens. Is there something I did wrong? Do I need to download something else? Any help would be much appreciated

I take it you have created a path in windows /android-sdk/platform-tools ?
Have you disabled usb driver signature authentication if you`re on Win8/8.1?
You could try removing the device in device manager and also uninstalll all drivers, then dis- and reconnect to the pc and install the google usb drivers from the sdk manualy.

ADB debugging enabled?

You might try installing the USB naked drivers 0.73 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...nt/adb-fb-apx-driver-universal-naked-t2513339.

Go into Device Manager and delete the Samsung device.
Reboot your computer
Download the USB drivers and install
Reboot again
plug in phone and see if it detects.

That's most likely because you haven't uninstalled and reinstalled your drivers. That's why I suggested a package with known working drivers.

[Q] what kind of USB drivers do I need to use fastboot/adb on my tablet?

I saw this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1706588) contains USB drivers for the Asus. the files themselves are not self-installing.
There are 3 folders in the zip file. MTP and Android and tethering. I suppose I need the drivers in the Android folder but unsure how to install it.
thanks

[Q] ADB Help

Please take your time to read this.I will keep it quite short, but try to understand my problem.
Ok so I am trying to enable USB debugging for my Nexus 5.But everytime I try to install the ADB driver, it says parameter is incorrect (I'm using windows vista).
At first, I didn't have the SDK installed, so I downloaded the 70 MB SDK Manager, and from there I downloaded the platform tools & google drivers, then I tried installing the drivers manually using the Device manager using both methods of locating the file manually using the have disk method and the locate the directory and include sub folders method..but both have failed to install the driver and it keeps saying the parameter is incorrect.
Suggestions?
Use a different driver from the one included in the SDK. Either use the USB driver package provided by lg(I did this and it went flawlessly) or use the "naked adb driver" which is a simple adb driver that should just work.(I used the former because the naked driver is third party and not properly signed, so it's a pain to install on windows 8)
Find either through a Google search.
Edit: nvm this guide includes the links required: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/nexus-5-driver-adb-fastboot-installation-guide/

i am sorry to ask this but are you having problem enabling usb debugging? did you activate developer option by tapping build number seven times?
Man this stuff gave me such a headache same issue here. But with fastboot. I had to manually update the drivers while the phone was plugged in. That's what messed me up.
First uninstall all drivers
While phone is on.
Update drivers with USB debugging enabled
While phone is in boatloader
Update again.
Adb and fastboot should work fine after that. Use one of the exe type drivers. Like LGS driver .exe than go into the device manager and update. Let the computer find the drivers.

adb not listing device

First off,
i am rooted with weaksauce, power saver enabled, supersu installed, usb debugging checked. PC is windows 7 x64. I wanted to do the firewater s off but adb is not listing my device. I have previously had adb connecting to my device( while trying htcDev Unlock before weaksauce root). Under device manager with phone booted to os, I get no android device listed. If i boot the phone to fastboot, it will list an android device in device manager, but still not listed on adb devices. Leads me to think its a driver issue. Removed and reinstalled all htc drivers but still no love. I do not have htc sync installed. I am kinda at a loss right now as to what to do. I also tried uninstalling weaksauce root and supersu but it was the same with or without. anyone have any ideas?
from what i read its a driver thing but this didn't seem to fix it for me.

If you are in fastboot it will not show up under adb... you need to install htc sync for the drivers then uninstall htc sync the program. Make sure you are using adb version 1.031 and that usb debugging is on.

Adb version in cmd prompt
Htc sync should have the drivers you can try Google to find a stand alone installer. Also switch usb ports.

If you're trying to S-OFF, the instructions state HTC Sync Manager isn't supposed to be installed. So if it still is, uninstall that (you can uninstall it separately from the HTC drivers). Also, make sure USB Debugging is enabled. Plus, when you connect the first time after enabling USB debugging make sure you hit the checkbox that says something like "always allow". I didn't, and it didn't prompt me on subsequent connections. I had to disable USB debugging and re-enable it to allow adb commands to communicate again.
good point i dont think that was tried go to debug and revoke authorizations

the only reason i installed htc sync was to get the drivers and after install i removed it. and debugging is checked. if i uncheck usb debugging and re-check, i don't get an option for a checkbox. just asks me to ok or cancel usb debugging.
Tried revoking authorizations....same deal....no device listed.

Download the correct drivers and after connecting the phone to the PC/Laptop, go to Device Manager and right-click the entry with the yellow triangle, then Update Driver, Browse My Computer For Drivers, then Let Me Pick From A List of Available Drivers On My Computer and then choose the drivers you downloaded and install.
If still facing issues, driver signing may be an issue, so search the internet on how to install drivers after turning off driver signing on the PC/Laptop.
