[ROM] [4.4.4 KK] [EXT4/F2FS] [DeltaJen] LiquidSmooth-UNOFFICAL v3.2 grouper - Nexus 7 Android Development

poo706 presents... LIQUIDSMOOTH - UNOFFICIAL
Question
What, no snazzy name for your ROM?
Answer
It's virtually identical to LiquidSmooth. You can usually dirty flash back and forth between official and unofficial.
Question
Virtually identical? So what's different?
Answer
Scrolling cache disabled
DeltaJen ROM update patches
Advanced Backup/Restore (details)
Heads up notifications for system apps
Navigation bar can be disabled without enabling PIE
Fixed /system wiping during ROM install (last checked on 10/24: On EXT4 the official LS /system wiping has been broken and nothing is erased)
CyanogenMod Calculator
Launcher icon for Viper4Android
Removed Dash Clock, cLock, Apollo, Sound Recorder, Kernel Tweaker, and Liquid Updater
Question
What's DeltaJen?
Answer
ROM upgrade patches that are usually less than 10 MB. System will not be wiped. Unchanged files, files you changed, files you added, and files you removed will be all be ignored.
NOTE: You MUST be on a specific UNOFFICIAL build to use DeltaJen. For example, 9/3 to go to 9/8. You CAN'T use DeltaJen to go from 8/28 to 9/8, but you CAN go from 8/28 to 9/3, then to 9/8.
Question
What gapps should I use?
Answer
I don't think it matters. I recommend Google Apps Minimal Edition: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2779598
Disclaimer:
I'm not responsible for your device blowing up, yadda yadda yadda. I do a minimal amount of testing before releasing to ensure that I can dirty flash with the included kernel on EXT4 and boot without issue. I do my best to not release broken builds, but I run a pretty minimal setup (ie no hover, themes, etc) and won't test everything. ART and F2FS support will be untested as well. As always make a nandroid just in case.

Did you have any luck booting my 4/7 ROM? I didn't get a chance to try it until this morning and my tablet wouldn't go past the google logo, I had to restore my nandroid. I'm building 4/8 right now and I'll try it during lunch before I post it.

I made a 4/9 build yesterday morning and it still won't go past the Google screen, just like 4/7 and 4/8. Did you get a chance to try 4/7 before I removed the link?

Would you like to try out my 4/9 build and see if it does it to you too?
[poo]

@poo706 sure, just pm me the link and I try it.

Update: 4/9 was the last successful build, but it still gets stuck at the Google logo. 4/10 and 4/11 fail when trying to build. On top of that, I'm not going to be able to test successful builds for a while because my digitizer is all kinds of messed up and it's no longer usable most of the time. I'm going to troll eBay and swappa and see if I can eventually pick up another grouper on the cheap.
In the meantime, is anyone interested in me posting untested builds?

We need the gapps from a Nexus S dump I believe. Flashing the Froyo gapps causes a boot loop.
Im going to try putting the gapps from the Nexus One Build in there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=872441
How's the speed? Is it improved over yesterday's test build?
HA! I only just flashed the previous test 30 mins ago, then restored back to Oxygen. Can't resist doing it again though.
If anyone gets a bootloop remove Launcher2 or Zeam.
Making new version with it removed.
About camera, wifi and mobile data, all work? The kernel is always vork or the stock gingerbread?

It will actually boot if you remove NetworkLocation.apk. That is what Gingerbread seems to be taking exception to. Remove that and it will boot, thats what I found yesterday anyway.
Hi, thanks for the rom Adam!!!

[ROM] AOKP Nightlies with [AROMA]

This ROM is just a nightly KANG of the up-to-date AOKP sources, with added AROMA installer (and my GApps). Every bug exists what is in the latest release of the official one, to day.
CREDITS
Most of the credit goes to these guys:
- Sportsstar89 and Konrad1337 for creating an awesome device tree, fixing bugs, and doing their own magic
- The AOKP Team, for bringing constant updates to their users
- Amarullz, for making AROMA, and adding my requests for some more tablet support
- Google, for making Android
- Everyone else the listed give credit to

Fine-tuning it was a nightmare, still misses a few features (like wiping), but can install, with a few options already done (GApps, bootanimation).
What I ask you to do:
- Spot bugs and tell me about it (WIPE DOES NOT WORK. I KNOW ABOUT IT)
- Suggest more features and selectables (Asus apps won't really be included, as they not really like AOSP builds), but not just drop in a few word, link 'em!
- Send some donation to these awesome guys at the AOKP team, the AROMA developer amarullz, and last, but not least, the two of the AOKP for TF developers: konrad1337 and sportsstar89 They deserve it!

You need to prepare it a bit, like, remove the bootanimation (the script automatically adds one upon install). It is also getting prepared to not just include AOKP, but any build of CM9, CNA, Team EOS ROMs, or even stock ASUS.
I will send you the generic AROMA installer, with further instructions later today (or tomorrow), privately.

Kernels, gapps, guides for troubleshooting, etc Are in this post by me.
these ports look almost identical to miui. is there any advantages to these OS's??
LewaOS port seems to be less resource intensive than MIUI. Its very snappy and does basics well.
Wating to check this port
That is true, to me they incorporate what we like from MIui and improve.
LewaOS is great.
This I like even more. I had to add some apps that I forgot hence why the links are not up yet.
I'm going to put the screenshots now. I have them already.
Screenshots are up, I will be uploading more.

I havent test it much yet. I noticed some settings in chinese, they had pics so you can tell but still chinese.
I had to fix some things on my LewaOS port so I'm flashing back for testing. Still uploading this one. I had to upload one by one to make it faster since it would be 4 files to keep in sync so the upload speed went down.
Edit: New baseband version is out.

Yes it is. I just didnt feel like removing them since they release the rom with them.
Oops, I installed gapps. No big deal. I'm used to doing that.
About the ROM. So far, so good. Themes are nice, like the Auro one. Superuser doesn't work, solved by downloading from play store. Visually, more exciting and polished vs LewaOS. Pinyin keyboard is ok, reinstalled Swype beta.
I like the drawer settings vs LewaOS better.
Under settings CPU info crashes hard and noticed ZTE Blade info listed in the settings.
Great initial release. I will give this more testing.

Thanks I tried to change it to put my name on it but it doesnt show. This port seems to be more challenging. LewaOS is easier.
I guess that is why there is no guide for it yet. I personally like MokeeOS better for all the options it has. But I havent tested it as much as LewaOS.
My theory is that LewaOS will run faster. While MokeeOS gives even more MIUI like functions with more original contant.
Just benched MokeeOs and it runs slower than stock.
My bench of LewaOS had it running almost exactly the same as stock O2X according to quadrant

MokeeOs feels more responsive in my opinion.

Battery Drain and Calling Issues
I've lost 20% in about 20 minutes which is pretty fast battery drain for me. Also, phone calls aren't working for me. Phone picks up but I can't hear the person on the other end and they can't hear me.
Gonna do a fresh install and try again.

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL CM12][5.0.2]CM12 Preview Builds for Flo - 1/05 & Earlier

There will be no new updates since official Flo nightlies are now in progress: http://download.cyanogenmod.org
The links to these old builds will stay here.
Thanks for all the support, folks.

Merged changes: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/status:merged+branch:cm-12.0,n,z
If something doesn't work, I doubt I can help you, I'm not developer. I just ran the build and installed it on my Nexus 7 to see if it works (it does!). No cherry picks, just merged CM ROM/Kernel. However, if something doesn't work, post it.
What works: Everything stock plus a few CM features.
What's broken: GPS?
What's here (1/03+):
Battery % indicator in notification bar, choosable style
A bunch of behind the scenes stuff
Trebuchet
Status bar brightness control
Single-down swipe for settings panel for swipes on the right side of status bar
Privacy Guard (including Privacy section in settings)
CM File Manager
Advanced Reboot
CM Superuser controls
Double-tap status bar or lockscreen slider to sleep
Notification light controls (including custom lights for individual apps)
Codec enhancements
Option not to have the screen wake on plug
ADB over network
Voice wakeup
Lots of CM app Material design changes

Thanks for the build! Can you maybe say if it will be possible to dirty flash new builds? (Maybe with only flashing SuperSU afterwards) That‘d be nice.
Tapagetalkt via Nameless 2.0 vom i9300
I dirty flashed it over AOSP at first and it was fine, YMMV.

Clear caches, wipe, and try flashing again. If that doesn't do it, I'll see what I can do in the morning.
Lots of stuff is getting merged now, thus a lot of stuff is going to be broken for a few weeks.

I always wipe cache and data. I don't ever "dirty flash". Bootloader is the latest and so is TWRP.
---------- Post added at 08:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:56 PM ----------
Wait for it. Turns out I just need to do the same thing over and over again until it worked. I flashed no less than 5 times. Weird.

Features are starting to pile up. Not enough to make me switch to CM12 on my Nexus 5, but it's getting there.

Thanks for this. You are right, not a lot of features yet, but interesting. I am trying it out now on my Nexus 7. The advanced reboot menu made it worth looking at for me. I know that I can do that with an external app, but this is a bit cleaner. I will have to see if I can live without the stock launcher though. I am running Nova on the N7.
Any alternate Kernel for cm 12?

I don't see it, either. It's usually enabled in the developer options and it isn't there.

Well, I don't see it either. I read somewhere that it is supposed to be there. You are correct that it should be in Developer Options, but it isn't. Oh well.
First of all, I would like to say: what a great ROM!! But on the Google now launcher is there any way I can make the search bar appear on the top when in landscape mode, rather than the transparent version off the the left/right?
Thanks.

Feel free to post logs / bugs here. Mainly have time to build after work on weekdays. On the weekends is when I can actually work on fixing things.
For device specific things just post the bugs / logs here. For CM specific bugs I would use JIRA and post a link to the bug here. (More helpful/useful to the CM team to make an actual JIRA bug report.)
3 WORDS: STABLE AS ****!
thanks for the rom, this will forsure be my daily driver. only little problem is the no service icon (xt1031) but data is working. soft reboot fixes it though!
Can anyone please comment on the speed of this ROM since it is Linaro based? The other 5.1 ROMs on my phone are pretty responsive, but if even more speed can be gained with our limited hardware, that will be great.
@CodyF86,
Having a problem with the download link. Rom starts downloading but does not download the whole 251mb. Only partial download. Tried about ten times but still same result. Tried with a different browser but same result.
Edit: Nevermind. Downloaded the rom from my phone and copied it from download folder on phone to internal storage.
Hello there @CodyF86 ! Thanks for you work! One little request. Do you think you will be able to add a mirror or upload your work to another claudbased storage? Like MEGA or Mediafire or AndroidFileHost or whichever you want. This one you are using is insanely unstable for me. It gets interrupted every 5 minutes. I'll be really glad if you could change it or add other(s).
Cheers.
I'll upload to Google drive starting tonight also. Driving home from work, will do another one.

Thank you very much! And sorry for bothering you with this. I really want to test your ROM since al Linaro builds seem gone from this forum. Thanks again. Drive safe
Cheers.
New build posted. Main link is to Google drive now.
Some more ARM assembly fun if you look under the kernel source commits.
Will fix the signal indicator so you don't have to do a soft reboot for it to work this weekend. Need to go through the soak test build.prop and compare a few other things...just need time this weekend.

thanks for both: new link and new build Can I dirty flash it over the build before? Just installed the first release lol
Cheers.
I've been dirty flashing; should be good to go.
Update: yes, this ROM is very fast indeed! Thanks for sharing.
This ROM is very fast! Especially for a CM ROM (which in my experience have gotten horribly slow over the last few versions) I haven't experienced nearly as many redraws, stutters, freezes or any other general unpleasantness. Good job @CodyF86

CWM 6.0.5.1 I think 6.0.4.7 is the last one posted on CMs website, I'll post the latest one in the OP tonight, but they're basically the same. Nothing needs to be changed from stock.

Weird, I haven't noticed that, but tbh I haven't actually payed attention to what year my phone shows / I don't even have it set up to show me I'll have to look and see if mine does it also.
Will do another one tonight / it's the weekend can play around with it get some things done now.
