Ask Samsung for Exynos sources (Marvell inside) - Galaxy Tab 3 General
We all know that we need the source code to build a working ROM (like CyanogenMod).
So, please, keep pushing Marvell to release it, because ROM development for this tablet can't go forward as it is now.

Hi!
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy TAB 3 7.0 and I wanted to install a custom ROM on it.
But source code is missing for Marvell PXA988 chipset and no one can build a working ROM.
Can you release source code for your chipset, so developers can improve our device?
Thanks in advance

Dear Marvell,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy TAB 3 7.0 and I'm happy with it, but I will be more if developers are able to build custom ROMs for this device.
They really need Sources for your Marvell PXA988 chipset, because without them they can't go forward.
Please, release them, and they will make this device go fast as double as it is now.

First he needs the sources, then he will be able to build a working CyanogenMod 11; maybe with sources this device will get also official support from CM Team

No. Even Marvell Chief Executive Officer/founder was born in Indonesia, Marvell in general not too friendly to open source world
I hope this is fruitful!

I'm still waiting for the email

There's no Android open source initiative related to Marvell.
We just need to try.
We can't stay with a 2013 tablet stuck with Android 4.1.2
We shouldn't of bought a 2013 tablet with 2011 specs

Marvell's engineer told me to ask Samsung for sources.
They don't have them.

How to Build I717 from original android and samsung source
Hi, Im new with android develoopment so please bear with a n00b. can someone guide me how to build ics rom using the source provided by samsung.. I have downloaded the original android ics source and samsung's source.. I can build the android source but I dont know how to plug in the samsung code. Unfrotunately, sammy's documentation is insufficient probably about 10 lines, just says to overwrite the android source and do a make. But when I run make I get errors... I've been looking at the forums most of them build from the cm10 source, but I want to build using the original. Figured I would learn more if I tried to build it from the actual sources.. Appreciate any help. If I learn, I would definitely pay it forward by contributing whatever I can to the community.. Thanks
You need to post this in the Galaxy Note phone section.
Wrong section. 1) Dev sections are for builds and modifications. 2) wrong device thread. This is for the galaxy note 10.1 tablet. Sent from my GT-N8013 using xda premium

According to Jai Mani (Lead Product Manager of Xiaomi India) "When asked about the status of kernel sources for its devices (with a specific mention of the Mi A1 from our end), Mr. Mani commented that Xiaomi’s focus is on providing quality kernel sources and not just uploaded for the sake of it (we assume he meant complying with the GPL…), like several OEMs in the lower budget market tend to do (if they release sources at all). The internal goal of the company is to release kernel sources within three months. Mr. Mani also commented that unlocking the bootloader of Xiaomi devices does not void warranty." Done! I'm yet to buy this device and I'm waiting for the source code so that we can have some custom action. Related stuff, OP5T launched yesterday and the company released its source code within 24 hours. That's some generous stuff.

Why did google allow an exception to Xiaomi to handle the software update themselves? If it was done by google, things would have been different. How can this be an android one device? Just because it comes with aosp rom?
