Try to flash the su binary once again or change to another ROM. That might solve the issue(not sure)

You need CWM Recovery, but it is included too.
I don't think there's any other way...
P.S. This didn't worked for me, but I hope it will for you if you try it.

You installed a stock ROM with no root access which is why you don't have root access. Head over to the superuser website, download the latest flashable .zip, go into recovery and flash it.
You should have root access after that.

After some further research, I installed "7-29_GApps_Minimal_4.4.4_signed". It was the only GApps version I could get working.

Status 6 means the updater script was written/edited improperly. Did you attempt to modify it?
No. No mods. I am far from that knowledge. Lol

Weird. Where did you find the gapps package that was giving that error? Are you sure it was status 6?

This one is too big for your system partition. That would explain why only the Banks minimal gapps worked.
Well, duh, that explains it. (Directed at me).How did I not see that. I could smack myself. Thank you very much. The minimal works fine, so I guess there was never a need for the bigger package.
I recently flashed the latest Sultan ROM with Open GApps and SuperSU 2.76, and I noticed that CCleaner does not recognize root.
I really like using it for disabling apps on my phone and was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to get it to recognize root.
I have tried clearing the apps data and reinstalling it.
