Well after updating to KK I can no longer receive MMS's and it's starting to really piss me off. I tried the methods listed here ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 ) but none of them worked for me. Are there any other options?
Did you tried installing 8sms app from playstore? Its just stock kk mms app. Just give it a try and set as deafault sms app

Yeah I tried multiple messaging apps, I'm pretty sure it's something that T-Mobile or LG did to **** it up

My friends are always sending me emojis but i can never see them, is there a way to install emojis like on the stock jelly bean sms app?

I don't know about stock SMS, but I use GO SMS pro and the emoji plugin works great. There is also an emoji keyboard in the play store, but I haven't used it so I can't say how well it works.
I've had that but i don't really like the feel of 3rd party messaging apps...

Which stock jelly bean SMS app are you referring to? I'm currently on Wang's Magic Mod and with that one, it looks like you have to enable emoji support in the settings menu, under extra settings. It doesn't show all of them though.
Could i install that one onto stock ota ics?
Sent from my MB865 using xda app-developers app
I know you can install the ROM on ota ics, but I don't think you can install just the SMS app, unless you can find one that is ported to ics. If you're rooted, I think there is a way to add/replace the emoji font, but I haven't personally tested that.
Okay thanks

Brought to you by time and relative dimensions in space.
Since the JB update I don't seem to ever receive my mms messages on the stock app. Is there anything to be done about this without rooting? Will switching to a different messaging app fix it? Please and thanks
Edit.. A battery pull seems to have fixed it.. Sorry.

im on my official stock!!
I have cm 11 m6 installed and I really don't like the stock camera. I was trying to install a ported version on the original G2 camera which I found to be a lot better, but every time I download the apk and install it, it just says "not installed" or something like that. I tried another camera too (MIUI) and it did the same thing.
Am I missing something here? Do I have to do something with the permissions (I don't know how to change them) ?
Thanks

Do you have "Unknown source" checked in settings>general>security?

Yes, I have that checked. I have installed other apps this way. It just seems to be the camera apps that don't work.

I didn't think a stock cam would work with cm or aosp since that's what keeps a lot of people sticking with a stock rom. I would read and ask in these threads.

That's what I was thinking that too but there was someone here that ported the stock G2 camera app for AOSP Roms. But its not just that app, its other camera apps too that are supposed to work with AOSP.
I will look into those threads.
Thanks

No problem but I would try Jishnu's. I didn't realize he made a version for cm/aosp. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471900
This also looks promising.

Alright guys, I want rid of my AOSP messenging app.
And replacing with Hangouts..
I've tried flashing PA GApps but because I'm on stock they don't work.. Doesn't boot up.
Can someone make me a script or something to do it?

Can't you simply freeze it (with App Quarantine, for example)?
