I was using the app flawlessly on a JB rom (Slimbean for YP-G70) and now, in my KK rom (Beanstalk for YP-G70), the app crashes upon trying to scan for media. Due to its use of its own media scanner, the app is useless with this error. I love it and just want my music playing right again. I own the full version. Any ideas on what I can do? I would post in the thread for Beanstalk but unfortunately I am still locked out of the dev section.

So, basically I recently modded my Samsung Captivate using the CyanogenMod and ever since then I've been wanting the stock TouchWiz music player back that came originally on the Captivate. I have the file and obviously my phone's rooted, but every time I try to install it, the apk install just fails with no explanation why. What can I do to get the stock TouchWiz music player to install on my CyanogenMod phone? Just, as a side note, I'm not all that experienced when it comes to all this stuff, so explain in excruciating detail, please.

CM is not a touchwhiz rom , that's why the install fails.

You can try too install samsung galaxy s4 mp3 player apk
Not going to work, the S4 runs touchwhiz. His best bet is to just try some of the many music players out there. There's a thread around about music players. Fyi I use power amp, and it seems like it's a popular choice around here around here also.

try another player.u can't get stock featurer on cm.
The issue is that I use iTunes and none of the music players read my album arts correctly whereas the stock Captivate player read most of them alright... I have yet to try DoubleTwist properly.

Hi I have a big problem with my MX Player
Device :Sony Xperia Sola
Android: 4.1.2
ROM: Ultimate ROM v11 http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/sola-development/rom-ultimate-rom-v11-bestreleased-t2360870
Problem: I have been using MX Player since 2011 (Thanks for an amazing app) And never had a problem like this with it. suddenly, after changing my ROM from 4.4 to 4.1.2 (performance issues) my videos won't play. I have played one of them on my old KitKat and it worked perfectly fine, but now it won't even start. The video finishes loading and nothing happens, the screen is black and the video doesn't play (I added a picture in the attachment) It's the first time i have that problem, and i have used that ROM before and i don't remember any problems with mx player. I have tried s/w, h/w and h/w+ and no change. I have downloaded all codecs from google play and the one from xda and no change. Help please.
EDIT: I have failed to mention that I had change the kernel thinking that it may cause the mention problem. Here is the one I'm using now: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2286496

i would love to be able to use the stock samsung video player in current roms such as cm12 and pac-rom. One thing samsung got right imho was their video player. if we could have the stock player on new roms id be happy as hell. thanks much if someone figures out a way. i tried pulling it with titanium and installing in new rom. it shows but always force closes

I used to agree with you but I've since fallen in love with MX Player. Plenty of options and customization, hardware acceleration, and gives you the option of resuming where you left off last time (even if you've rebooted or something) or starting over. Plus, and this definitely isn't universal but I think worth noting: I have a bunch of videos stored on my desktop which I like to watch on my tablet over DLNA/smb (not sure which term is technically more correct here) and the stock Samsung video player would often trip or lag whereas MX always plays them nice and smoothly. In an honest side-by-side comparison in my opinion MX is a superior video player. Plus the best option if you're on CM
OK, i have a Samsung note 8.0 tablet (gt-n5110) currently running cyanogenmod 12.1 which is lollipop 5.1. I am an avoid movie downloader and I have tons of SD cards full of movies I've downloaded. I used to watch them seamlessly on my tablet until recently. I can't recall if this problem started with the new ROM or not but no matter what app I'm using or what movie I'm watching, after a few seconds the audio track will skip and subsequently become drastically out of sync (usually 2-3 seconds or more behind the video which is maddening to me). I have tried multiple apps however I still prefer MX player. I do have the custom ac3 codec but I've tried using the default codec for regular mp4 files, same problem persists. Also, the problem continues whether I'm using a Bluetooth speaker or not. Any help would be greatly appreciate . I've fooled with all the settings I can find in MX, tried VLC, etc. I can't seem to find an answer that had fixed my specific problem. At this point I'm really frustrated and just want it fixed so if the answer had been right under my nose, you can call me an ass, I won't take offense, just please give me the answer lol.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
I assume you are using this ROM?
If so, here is the corresponding Q&A:
> Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 > Galaxy Note 8.0 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Q&A] [ROM][N5110]Cyanogenmod 12.0[12/12/14]
Your developer should be able to assist in this problem. Please note, you will need to be registered for an XDA account in order to post there.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
So after realizing that the Good Lock APK would run on any samsung phone on MM, I downloaded the APK of the newest Samsung Music app. Initially I just tried installing it as an update for the marshmallow/lollipop stock version of the Music App which caused weird UI bugs. The tracks tab was just a repeat of the playlist tab and there was no side scroll bar. However, after uninstalling the old stock music app with Titanium back up and than installing the new music app APK there are no more bugs and it is running fine.
Nice to know. I don't use the Samsung Music app but it nice to see someone experimenting with the MM apps seeing what "just works" without actually having to mod the apk or the system.
