Voice Search 214 missing from my 442 ota. - Moto X Themes and Apps

I could not get the Bluetooth voice dial button to fuction on my ERA Black Streak 2.
Somehow I got play to download voice search 2.1.4. Yet I cannot find it in my apps.
I use smart keyboard pro btw.

So, long story: short: with all the apps disabled I have VS working. Maybe my issue is not common but others my want battery savings & working VS without all the other touch-less bloat.

Thanks for all those pictures! That sure was necessary to your post!
Use Google Search for bluetooth voice dialing. That Voice Search app will be deprecated soon. It's an old and outdated piece of software.

Where is the Multitouch with voice input Keyboard on Cyanogen 7? it was on stock rom

I really want to get the great working stock keyboard that was on my 2.2.2 chinese me525 back! I love cyanogen 7, but I think the mutitouch with voice was much much much better. the text was unbelievable accurate and saved me a lot of time. Plese tell me there is a way toget this back... Sure the voice recorder in the dialer.... it was better too. But I want to stay on topic... The voice input was a huge time saver.

Note dictating on the go

I'm not sure if this is the proper place to ask this but I'm not sure where else to ask.
My Nexus 5 phone goes pretty much everywhere with me. So it would be really cool if I could just whip it out and dictate a quick reminder note for later.
I know there are many note apps that can take dictation and transcribe it into text. But it takes many steps to unlock the phone, go to the app, select microphone, and save. It would be nice if there was an app that one could put right on the lockscreen which would work without needing to unlock, is quickly voice activated, and to which one can just dictate in 1-2 steps. Like the many dictating cassettes one can dictate to by just pressing a single record button. But, the app would take advantage of Android to go further and turn the dictation into a text note.
I've searched the play store but have not found something like that. Does such a dedicated app exist? It would be very useful.
"ok google">"note to self..."

Thank you for replying.
Using note to self as a search term I also found other possibilities that don't go thru Google.
Thanks
If you don't want to use Google Now there's also Google Keep for voice notes and recordings.
Thank you. I will look into it. I've never used it.
Appreciate the suggestion.

Google Assistant and SMS

Hi folks
I was just wondering if any fellow mix 2s users had the same issue as me.
Basically,if you use the Google Assistant / OK Google function to send an sms,it will appear in your native messaging app twice, one of those messages will have a number indicating which sim it was sent from, while the other will not.
However the person receiving the text will just receive one sms as they should...
I only got the phone recently and it updated to miui 10 so not sure if its just a bug in the software or it existed in previous versions,or perhaps its just my phone....Also I have tried a factory reset too and still persists
Ive attached an image below, hopefully it will help understand what I mean...Any help much appreciated...

I've noticed this too. This has been going on for a long time now, at least since Google Assistant has been around. I've owned multiple Xiaomi devices, and it's happened on all of them.
This is my first xiaomi device,it's a very annoying little bug..but as least it's some comfort knowing it's not just my phone I guess ha.... Mostly I just use the voice assistance with android auto in the car for sending sms.
I've forwarded the bug to xiaomi not that it will change much I guess as you mentioned you had several devices and it's always been like that...
Appreciate your input anyway bud!

make sure you know the device's name. you can do this by going to youtube and clicking the cast button, then check the name. if you still have issues, try installing google home and connecting your device to it.
I try google home too and it still not fix , i use it normally on another phone it is samsung s20 FE and work perfectly. They use same google account but you see the color of assistant in s22 is white but on s20 fe is colorful one. 2 of them had same setting too.

Question Set Google Assistant as the default for bluetooth

Anyone know how to change the default from Bixby to Google when you activate it from bluetooth?
It worked with my Note 9 but I'm not seeing a way to change it on the S22.
If you haven't already, install Google Assistant and then run it. It will run you through setup and, if I remember correctly, will ask about using Google via BT.
You should also install the Google app.

I should have given more detail, but I already have the Google app installed and set as default. I also have the Assistant shortcut installed from the play store.
Ok. Then it SHOULD work. I've gotten mine to work through my BT devices (JBL headphones, Galaxy Buds Pro, and 2014 Jeep).
Open the Google App and go to Settings -> Voice and check to see if these two options are enabled.
