[Q] bell htc incredible s - General Questions and Answers

Does anyone know of any updates for the bell htc incredible s? This is my wife's phone and as she is not a"techie", she is clueless about updates and such. I googled the phone and apparently there was an update but when I searched the htc developer site, it wasn't there. And, apparently, unless you post frequently here, you can't search the xda forum until you do posts. Any help would be appreciated.

Xda Zest, is it getting a section ?

Got the chance of updating to one and have been looking for reports, advice feedback on this phone. Is there going to be a section for this phone ?
Thanks
Probably not as it's not an HTC device even though it is branded an XDA.
Is this a HTC only forum then ?
Don't know about that but i do know they have decided not to create a section for things like the Samsung Omnia. But then that is neither HTC nor an XDA.
Seems fair enough, they do say somewhere its HTC only, just read it, be to much if they had to do every windows phone out there. Oh well the Zest is on the way, lest see what it's like in the flesh.

Motorola Droid forum on XDA

I sure love the XDA site and am sad to have to look elsewhere once I pick up my Droid today. Is there any chance of XDA getting a forum for it on here?
I know that it's normally a HTC only site, but the Sony Ericcson X1 has it's own forum. I assume that's not made by HTC?

Wrong. X1 is made by HTC, that is why it has a forum. No Non-HTC devices here.
Gotcha, thanks for clearing that up for me, even if it is a humongous bummer
Long Live XDA.
Understood the Droid is not an HTC device, so anyone know of an XDA-like forum for Droid users?
I really thought about waiting for an HTC device, but the only one on the horizon is the Dragon/Passion and still too little information is known on that.

WARNING
that site is an absolute zoo D;
noobs everywhere asking the most basic android questions
HOWEVER, they've already established a couple threads on rooting the droid.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4902566 also talking about this topic.
Like I said there, any mods have an opinion on the possibility of establishing a Droid forum?

For Droid & Cliq / Dex users
Hmm..
What about a group of forums for the Eris (HTC Desire) which IS obviously made by HTC? Or should we keep posting in the Hero CDMA forums?
Anyone know an answer to my above post?

[Q] HTC Desire S Help!

Hi everybody, i'm new to all of the Android phones and rooting but i have experience in Jailbreaking iPhones so im not new to hacking phones.
I'm getting very confused about a lot of things to be honest, and wonderd if anyone could help me.
What is the point in rooting?
Do i need to take the "S" of my HTC Desire to be able to root it? If so how do i go about this?
Next, is how do i go about rooting my Desire S?
This is all confusing compared to the iPhone, any help/Tutorials will be very appreciated.
Sorry if this has already been posted or if anything similar has been posted.
Please check the forums for your device.
Welcome to XDA. My advice would be to read all the stickies in your devices forum. Android is a lot more complex then the IOS your used to. Root is giving it admin access.
The search plugin us a powerful tool. Do a Google search for Xda search plugin and you will fund it. Sorry am mobile or I would link you.

[Q] Guidance of Forum & Phone

Hey everyone,
I have an HTC HD7S, from AT&T, but can someone point me to the right thread? I'm not sure if I belong in the HD7 section or HTC Titan section, due to my issue.
My HD7S is a store demo, and I need to remove demo mode.
I thought T-Mobile had the HD7, not AT&T. Maybe I'm mistaken...I'd try the HD7 forum to see if anyone over there can assist you, probably get more replies.

New user coming from LG Optimus T

Hey, I'm not new to Android rooting but I've never had a HTC device so I'm alittle confused on how to root and everything else...I just got this device today..I bought it from a girl selling it thru Facebook. Its on 2.3.3...I don't have a sim card and it needs to be formatted to the right format...I'm using my WiFi connection...I've scanned a few pages on these forums and honestly it all seems confusing....I want this thing rooted...I've seen some things about RUU and bootloaders and etc....also I guess it helps if I tell yall that I have a Windows xp if that matters...can someone direct me to a working guide (an updated one). I can read for myself.....I'm completely new to HTC devices, I know some of you are tired of these kind of threads but there are literally hundreds if not thousands of the same threads here....Rooting my LG was easy as hell..BTW I have a HTC Inspire 4G
Sent from my Desire HD using xda app-developers app
