[Q] high volume warning - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Any way to remove high volume warning when listening to music?

Nope. Gonna have to be a mod, either through xposed or custom rom
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk

Is that built into Android now? My daughter's Moto X has a warning too.

If you use the xposed sense 6 mod that is posted here in the Verizon m8 threads it has the ability to remove that and it works fine on mine, haven't had any problems with it so far

No probs I hope it works out for you too

Worked perfectly thanks again!

This is the only thing left that is bugging me about this phone. I realize it's an Android issue not specifically the M8 but I HATE IT with a passion. Thanks I'm so glad to get rid of this craptastic warning.

Thank you!

The warning was bad enough. What really pissed me off is how it automatically lowered the volume after the warning. Then I would have to run the volume back up. I found the Sense Toolbox last week and haven't looked back.

Agreed. And to second you - the best part is how it leaves the damn volume where I left it. That was driving me nuts.
It's reasons like that why having xposed is a necessity for me.

My volume still drops down after every reboot. Installing xposed, and sense 6 toolbox I was able to disable the safe volume prompt.
Is there a file or anything I can mod to keep bluetooth volume maxed?

I will pay someone $10 if they can make a flashable mod. All I want is to skip music tracks when the screen is off by holding the volume +/- button. We do not have lock screen music controls so this mod wuld be very useful for some people. If $10 isnt enough PM me and we can discuss. Help me out ppl lets get one of our great devs on this! There are a few options for this, both PowerAmp & PlayerPro will give you lock screen controls.
The app headset buton will allow you to skip or go back using any headset controls.

Most likely not since his way you have to do through the lockscreen. The guy wants to skip/switch songs with the volume keys and not through a lockscreen widget.

Yes Pure, Exactly. I have not flashed anything on my phone except Mad Industries ICS Blue WiFi toggles. I need this mod for STOCK Rooted. The Bounty is at $20 now since we had another member step up. I cannot guarantee the other guy will give the $ but I promise I will. If there is anything you can do for me Pure it will be greatly appreciated. Loved ur Roms on my now dead Inc btw.

we realize that, but that doesn't help most of us that are running the rooted stock ROMs because CM10 is way too buggy to be a daily driver (for me anyway)

Look up an app called Sensor Music Control. It's a little different than what the OP calls for, but it's cool. You can slap your phone in your pocket to skip the song. So it takes les effort than holding the volume buttons.

Well I have been trying to backwards engineer it, but it requires rewriting the windowphonemanager.smali file that is like 8000 lines long and located in android.policy.jar to make it happen. I also don't know smali very well so I am learning as I go. Its rough
Edit: I have been thinking about asking chingy to help me with it. See if he has any thoughts or can take a look. If he can figure it out I'd be happy to make sure everyone donates to him.

I'm not a developer, by any means, so I wouldn't be of help for a mod. I hope, in the meantime, you can make use of the sensor music player. I just switched to SynergyROM and I wasn't aware of the lack of lock screen control. That music player is now my default.
EDIT - Here's a link for it.

power button broken

hi! after a fall my Desire S have some problems with the power button. Now is still working but I have to push harder every day to unlock the phone!
I thought to remove the original ROM and use something like ICE DS to remap the power button to one of the volume keys. New motherboards for this phone are not cheap and I think this is the better solution. Do you have any suggestions? Is this the better way to solve the problem?

S2w is something I used and it is optional on most if not all current dev ROM. U can basically switch the the phone on or off by swiping from the home softkey to the search key. Install it and experience it for yourself.

Yesterday I have installed ICE DS 6.5 and it's amazing. This ROM comes with s2w already installed, and you can also unlock your phone using the volume keys!
So my problem is solved and I suggest to all people that have similar troubles to think about this solution!
I thought that S2W is just kernel related and not ROM related? So it would be enough to use the kernel from amidabuddha, right?

[APP][2.2+] Awake/Sleep Volume Adjuster

When your phone is in your pocket, full volume notifications are necessary if you don't want to miss a message. But when you already have your phone out and unlocked, there's no need for them to be loud and annoying, especially if you're already using the app they originate from (e.g. message apps).
Awake/Sleep Volume Adjuster lets you set custom notification volume levels for when your phone is asleep and when it's awake.
This is my first app, so I apologize for any issues it may have, but I hope people will find it useful. Either way, it's been nice to have just for myself!

(REQ) Flashable power menu

Was going to give this a whirl myself, but I've had zero time lately. Wife has been drilling me left and right with house and yard work. Anyway, enough of the whining.
Was hoping someone could come up with a flashable extended power menu, that has REBOOT, REBOOT TO RECOVERY, AND REBOOT TO BOOTLOADER added. I know there's an Xposed module, but I hate using Xposed as I've always had issues and lag. I appear to be the only one it seems. Regardless, a flashable with these options has proven very handy on past devices running stock ROM.

That one and the reboot menu specific one. Most people don't notice any xposed issues it at all. I for one do. Very high attention to detail....hasn't always been a good thing. Regardless, having an APK or "module" that goes through a hack process will never work as well as it being coded in the actual system apk. Are Xposed processes easy and for the masses......yes. Are they the right way to do things.....no.

At least you learn something by modding. I looked over your thread and don't feel comfortable flashing it on my American Sprint phone. I seen it has data issues with Sprint, and I don't have the time to debug problems at the moment. Also, in the past I've had BIG issues after flashing a T-Mobile ROM and firmware on my Sprint device. Caused way too many problems and I am very hesitant to do it again. Thanks for your work though!:good:
I figure I'll get around to it anyway. Probably after the next Android update.....
This is one of the easiest things to do as far as smali hacking goes, and there are countless guides for other devices that I've seen on how to do it. Maybe none specifically for 4.4.2, but the back-end code is still going to be the same thing that goes in, as it has been for several versions of Android. I'd say it's going to take you longer to get the proper tools to do the changes, than actually making them.

I notice lag/stuttering whenever I use xposed framework, not modifying an apk. Have tried the reboot menu module, gravity box module, and the hot spot module. Have tried them alone, and together. As soon as I remove xposed or reflash the firmware, my issues stop. Have tried a few different versions of xposed as well. Same thing every time. There are others I've briefly talked to who notice the same issues, on different devices.
Xposed is a great option to have, but it's not for me.

Lets discuss what we can do with our rooted V20!

Hey guys,
Its been a while since I rooted my phone (I've been using Samsung phones with locked bootloader) and it sure feels good to be back!
Now, I've been out of the loop for so long that I don't know what I should do next with my rooted V20!
I would love to have you guys come in here and discuss how we can make our V20 even better!
Thing's I've done so far.
Install Adaway
Remove Bloatware using titanium backup (is there better way to remove bloatware beside titanium backup?)
So far I removed all the TMobile apps, is there anything else I should remove that will improve the battery life?

I haven't gotten the phone yet (though LG store has already called me that I can get it already just been busy due to all saints day festivities) so wanted to ask, how did you root your v20? and what version is your V20?

From what I've read, TWRP isn't doing proper nandroids, and there isn't a stock image to flash. At the risk of sounding "elitist," I'd recommend going slow.

I know what's in the root thread in the development section.
Is this what you're looking for?
The problems with the .tot files in a nutshell.
I'm not a dev. I can bearly muddle my way around ADB commands. I know what I know from watching the struggles in the root thread. Yeah, there's root and little else. The process doesn't seem quite ready for prime time which of course hasn't stopped the root commandos.
I CAN CONTROL THE WORLD WITH ROOT! LOL . No but really, what can't you do with root? you can do everything as long as the phone doesnt required to implement any new hardware within the phone... I like my Adaway, and greenify, and removes or freeze apps i dont like nor need, I like my pie bar for faster shortcuts (sure, the phone itself has the second screen to put up to 5 apps, but the pie bar give you a lot more options so i will have the 5 on the second screen plus the many mores in the pie bar which is a fast process too, maybe even faster than the second screen), i also like my xposed for every module i desire, AND MY BELOVED TITANIUM BACKUP! and many many more things
The one thing I hope and pray to see come from this newly acquired root is a camera mod that will allow 16MP in full 16:9. Please pull through devs! I would donate for that :highfive:

That's likely because the sensor isn't 16:9 shaped, it's 4:3. You have to crop the sensor to get 16:9.
