I have unlocked the ChaCha device and loaded the 10.1 ROM, as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365533, then I added Slim Google Apps and Link2SD. Then I installed apps from the Google Play, all like including GMail and Google+.
Gmail works fine, Hangouts work fine, but Google+ crashes every time it's started (and even on it's own, it probably tries to login in the background), it just says that the app was unexpectedly closed.
I reinstalled it, also without Link2SD tricks. Same behavior.
Attached is a log I collected from the device, there are mentions of a dictionary pack problem, some memory issues, I'm not sure what to make of it, which of the logs are expected and which are actually connected to the issue I'm seeing.
Have any of you ran Google+ successfully on that ROM? What exact setup was it?
Do the error logs tell you anything?
thanks

Today Google + and Google Play app downloads have stopped working right. It will no longer sign into G+, I get a warning that it can't communicate with the server. For the Play apps download issue, I can log into the the Play store and see my current apps and search for new ones but it won't download a new app through the phone or sending it from my online account on my PC. I've cleared the data for both apps, tried force stopping, restarting the phone, hard reset and still no luck. All other Google apps are working fine and the phone itself is working fine so I don't know why these two apps are giving me issues. I have a 100% stock NS4G. Any help would be great.
i had the same problem after the 4.1.2 update to rectify this i deleted my google account from my phone then rebooted it and added my google account back to the phone, after that i was able to download and update apps again, i don't use google+ but i would imagine the above procedure would sort that issue out as well
Hey Guys,
I have the latest gmail app on my nexus 4, running Android 4.4.3 KitKat. I am unable to download any attachments through the app, and it is beginning to bother me. I have had this issue over the past gmail app versions, and from 4.4.2 KitKat also. Pictures say they can't load, and any other files fail to download, and retrying doesn't help. A workaround that I can use now is saving everything i need to Google drive from within the gmail app, and accessing them from another app, but this isn't a permanent solution. I have tried wiping gmail cache, gmail data, and completely uninstalling gmail and reinstalling it from the play store after a reboot, all to no avail. None of the solutions I have found work. If you guys Know how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi
I have the same problem!!?? it is very annoying please anybodies have a solution? I cant't open any attachment via gmail app always I use save to drive to see any attachment via my mobile device.
Hey,
I never solved the issue and from Browsing around it seems it happens to some people and not to others. I just use the drive workaround now, because I have nothing else left to try.

Hi
Yeah the same as me, I feel tired of finding a solution for this problem. it is very wired that Google didn't mention this problem or solving it by newest version of gmail app because I found many threat talking about the same issue without a solution. many of member say to switch to K9 app instead of gmail app but the problem that in the k9 there are no categories like gmail ( Primary, Promotion, Social, Forums) I used them a lot because I don't like to get a notification when a new email come to one of these categories except Primary. these feature doesn't exist in another email app like K9.
Hello all,
I have a problem syncing my Google contacts with my HTC One M8 (running Android 6.0). In the past, I have been able to sync the HTC People app with Google (and also link them with data from other apps).
Yesterday, I had to reset my Google account settings. I also cleared the People data, before putting the account settings back and syncing the data. Now it will only sync some of the contacts. It's missing about 190 of my contacts (which are clearly still there on Google). I can find no pattern to the contacts it includes/excludes. I have tried repeating the process - clearing all the data and settings and putting it all back - but I cannot get all of the contacts to appear on my phone any more.
Can anyone tell me how to solve this? Failing that, is there another (reliable) app for syncing contacts data from multiple sources, including Google, Whatsapp, and Skype? Thank you in advance!
Can you verify that missing ppl have either google plus profiles or (birth)dates set? Refer to https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/help/contact-sync-flashing-8-1-image-syncing-t3715229 ... this seems broken since the 8.1 release but also breaks for non-oreo and non-pixel devices

Thanks for posting so quickly - and for directing me to a thread for precisely this issue! I am missing rather too many contacts to go through all of them, but it's definitely not confined to contacts with a G+ profile and/or a date. As you say, the Android version on my phone also pre-dates that of most users experiencing this problem.
It seems there's no clear solution yet, but (from the thread) it seems to be early days. For now, I have manually exported my Google Contacts to a vCard file and imported it to my phone contacts. I guess I'll wait and see if Google comes up with a solution in due course.

Deleted my Google account and People app data (again) today. Replaced them and suddenly I am finding ALL my Google contacts syncing again. I don't really have an explanation for why it worked this time but it might be relevant that I also installed the dedicated Google Contacts app this time round.
I solved this problem by deactivating power saver. After a few minutes, Contacts started to sync with my Google account.
Hello friends
I am facing google contacts not syncing issue on almost every rom with xposed installed (especially mokee rom because it have xposed installed by default)
Can anyone please help
Hey
Had this issue once before on santoni. Dind't find out how to fix.
Had this now on osprey (my baby boy destroyed my santoni).
I did a clean flash of mokee 71 build 20180707 and nano opengapps from 20180706 and contacts didn't sync.
What worked for me was simply dirty flashing the gapps from this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/gapps-gapps-7-0-nougat-minimal-t3474980/page1
Contacts started syncing even before updating Google Play Services.
Hope this also works for you, guys.
Hello,
I have two Huawei Y550-L01 phones, each with it's own Google account configured and a recent 7.1.2 Custom ROM.
On one, syncing contacts works perfectly. On the other it keeps hanging, never performing a full sync.
On both, I use latest OpenGApps pico from 2018-07-24.
I found many apparent solutions and tried them all:
- disable battery optimization for Contacts app
- clear cache and data from Contacts app
- remove and re-add Google account
All to no avail. Can someone help me get this issue resolved?
Thanks,
FWieP

It seems that I forgot to mention two important factors: time and patience.
A second device with both Google accounts configured as two separate users, showed the same issue. One account would sync without any problem, the other would hang.
With this device, I ruled out the Custom ROM being the issue (as I assume that both LineageOS 14.1 and 15.1 are robust enough to not have such a bug in them).
Several hours later, I tried again on both devices. Remove cache and data from "Contacts storage" and "Contacts" app. Then force synchronization under "Settings -> Accounts -> Google -> Synchronization".
Given time, the both synced!
I don't understand it, but this procedure has worked - and cost me several nerves in the process
Issue solved (for now).
Sorry for the noise,
FWieP
Hi, all. I've been having problems getting my Google contacts to sync on my Mix 3 running stock China rom. As you know, Google framework comes preinstalled and I've got pretty much every other Google service (mail, keep, play store) installed and working. I wasn't able to use the ubiquitous "Google installer apk" that most people point to because it first tries to install the framework but fails as it is already installed, and refuses to move on to the next steps. However, even though every other service works, my contacts refuse to sync. There are lots of guides to solve this very common problem with miui, but none of them worked for me. I've tried changing permissions for the contacts app, battery settings, installing a Google contacts sync adapter app, reinstalling the contacts app, and nothing's worked. Whenever I attempt to refresh the Google contacts app I get the message: "can't finish sync. Some contacts may not show up on all of your devices". Has anybody faced this problem?
I faced this problem too, after following the guide on Miui. I tried different permission settings and couldn't get it to sync.
Eventually the contacts app was updated though the Google play store, and it started syncing correctly. Make sure you have the latest contacts apk installed.

Thanks for your reply. I'll report back after an update occurs.
I think this is related to how Google Play Services is on the phone, I created a lite Google package for the Nubia Z17 and people had similar complaints about contacts sync not working... it was fixed by flashing the stock opengapps but we can't do that without TWRP here.
Download this Google Contacts Sync 9 (Android 6.0+) - https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl.../google-contacts-sync-9-android-apk-download/
Install and grant it permissions. Reboot phone and google contacts will start syncing without issues.
Thanks JJay666, it works for my mix3 china stock rom.
