Connecting my N5 via USB cable to my Kenwood car stereo's USB input works fine.
The stereo source has to be set to "USB device" for it to work.
The stereo reads the device, meaning I can't use the device to change the tracks, it's all controlled through the stereo.

alpine is set like USB device and detects as MTP my N5 and charging the mobile inclusive, but goes "searching" and then does not move. The USB stick works perfectly, with control in the Alpine car stereo

Try enabling USB debugging. If that doesn't work then try changing the USB connections on the N5

usb headset cable keeps dialing...

Hi
I was always using the usb headset cable of my htc (kaiser), but since a few days, it seems to have a loose connection:
It keeps on dialing the last number I called and/or activates the voice recognition without me touching anything.
it's probably the connection between between plug and usb port which is buggy (it does not happen when the us headset cable is diconnected).
Anyone has a similar experience?
I don't see a way to get rid of that problem...I can only switch to a Bluetooth headset...
Either the pushbutton on the USB headset is making contact when it shouldn't, or your self-identified loose connection. Maybe try a different USB headset?
Either way, this could be your "excuse" to go bluetooth!

[Q] Bluetooth not quite working...

It seems that my car only recognizes the media portion of my S3 over Bluetooth. When I go to pair it, my phone shows my car as headphones only, no phone. Is this a problem with my phone or my car? I have a Mazda CX-5.
Anyone? Bueller?
It does that by default....I have a Mazda 3. After connecting to the car go into the bluetooth settings on your phone and there should be an option to connect the phone as well.
I've done that and it still can't pick it up.

[Q] Need help connectinb mulitiple usb devices to my Kindle Fire 1st gen

So I got micro to usb adapter and I already use a keyboard on it. However, to connect more than one device I read that I need a powered usb hub. Is this true? And also, because the mic only works with a headphone/mic jack, could i plug an external soundcard into my adapter and then plug a standard headset with a mic cord and a headphone cord in and use it?
What do I need to do to get all these to work on my fire?
1) Mulitple usb devices connected and working
2) A regular headset with a seperate mic and headphone jack
3) A mouse for my Fire
4) A bluetooth usb dongle to enable bluetooth
5) A webcab for skype.
6) A usb drive for extra memory
And I almost forgot to say I got it rooted, if that makes a difference.

GROM USB Audio out works with my Verizon Note 4. Kinda.

So I just purchased a GROM Audio Honda Acura 03+ USB Android iPod Bluetooth AUX adapter( SKU: HON1U3 )
http://www.gromaudio.com/store/usb_...uetooth_adapter_direct_digital_interface.html
With both the Bluetooth and USB AUX adapter it came to a pricey $229.96. What I got for that price is:
Bluetooth media and headphone profiles
USB out via AALinQ Car Music Player
OK Google Hotword still works
Con's:
You have to load your media into the AALinQ application to get it to play via USB, that means no Google Play music over USB, and all system sounds aren't automatically sent to the USB audio like with the Note 3 and previous Galaxy devices.
You don't get track titles etc via Bluetooth at least with my Note 4 on my '08 Acura MDX and the GROM connected to my XM 2 Sat input on the stock head unit.
I'm getting a weird slight crackle when audio stops and starts playing via Bluetooth, I think this is because the Grom adapter is connecting and disconnecting USB audio to the head unit, I got the same crackle when connecting my MHL USB audio connector when the car head unit was on.
Pro's:
The nice thing is that unlike a dedicated MHL USB connector which is the other way to get USB audio out on the Note 4 you aren't blocking your microphone while connected
You are charging. which I hadn't got working with USB to MHL.
Just thought this might be useful to those of us who don't have A2DP built into our car stereo's. GROM is compatible with hundreds and hundreds of vehicles, just use the Browse by auto make selector at http://www.gromaudio.com/index.html
I don't work for GROM, I paid for my unit myself, wanted to share what worked for me in case it helps one of you.
Oh and according to their FAQ the charge you're getting is 1A 5V http://www.gromaudio.com/support/usb-faq.html

Best AD2P Bluetooth Auxiliary Adapter for Cars

Hello All,
I just bought a used Lexus and it has bluetooth for phone, but not streaming. I have an aux port in the console and a usb port so I would like to add a bluetooth adapter for streaming music. I am looking for one that turns on automatically with the car (doesnt require me to push a button), will pair automatically with my phone (again no button pushing), and can be powered off a usb port. I do not want one that does hands free, just one that does streaming only.
I am having trouble finding one that auto turns on and connects. Does anyone have a good suggestion?
I ended up getting the Blackberry Music Gateway 2 and it works just great: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WPYIY3O/
