[Q] HTC Explorer Booting Issue - HTC Pico (Explorer)

I am having a HTC Explorer... I have unlocked the bootloader and have rooted my phone. I have CWM Recovery installed.. I treid installing custom ROM, but after installing once I reboot, it keeps showing the custom ROM's animated loading screen and never proceeds forward. I have tried 4 different custom ROM's and also tried to install Stock ROM but same happens.
During installation I don't get any sort of error. But once I reboot the phone it is stuck on the loading animation. I have already tried formatting data, clearing partition cache and clearing dalvik cache...
Can any one help regarding this issue.. ?
P.S: I don't have any backup..I know I should have backed up...but still...

Firstly specify which which roms you tried which recovery you are using.
Well to say..
If you are using sense based Roms.. Then ext partition is needed.. Which can be done in recovery- Advanced- Partition sd card..
Partitioning sd card will format your card so take a backup of it
If you are using sense based roms then use recovery which mounts ext Like TWRP or Philz or CWM Latest one..
If not a sense based rom:
1. Go to recovery
2. Wipe data/factory reset.
3. Wipe cache partition.
4. Advanced -> Wipe dalvich cache.
5. Mounts and storage -> format /boot, /cache, /system , /sd-ext(if present).
6. Dont format anything else.
7. Install zip -> flash the rom.
8. Reboot
If you are still facing problem PM me..

[Solved] Right Way to Wipe/Format using 4EXT Touch Recovery

I've been using 4EXT Touch Recovery to wipe/format before flashing certain roms. Is there a right way on how to wipe/format using 4EXT Touch?
This is how I do it (correct me if I'm wrong):
1. wipe date/factory reset
2. wipe cache
3. wipe cache + dalvik
4. wipe dalvik cache
5. wipe battery stats
6. format system
7. format data
8. format boot
9. format all partitions (except sdcard)
10. format sdcard
11. flash rom

If you are flashing an update of the same ROM do "wipe dalvik cache + cache" (in case the Developer has not clearly stated that the update requires full wipe)
If you are flashing a new ROM use "wipe all partition (except sdcard)" it will do all the wipes from the wipe menu, no need to repeat it
And wiping the sdcard every time you install a ROM clearly does not make any sense, you are deleting all you pictures, music and all other files that are not related to any ROM you are using

I didn't know that "format all partition (except sdcard)" is the same from 1 to 8. I'll try using it from now on every time I install new roms. Also, I thought that wiping my sdcard every time I install rom is to make that rom fully utilized/functional. And that is why I back up all my pictures, music, and all other files in my laptop. Anyhow, thank you for your simple but very relevant response.
There are some ROM specific files on the SDcard but a full wipe (all partitions except sdcard) clears them too

[Q] [HELP] - AROMA Issue

Hi,
i have tried to install several ROMS that use the AROMA installer and all im getting is the old ROM.
i am doing the following
1. boot to recovery
2. full wipe, cache wipe, dalvik wipe and battery stats wipe, then install from SD card and the aroma installer then takes over
i get through the options and all i get then is Erasing and formatting EXT4 Partition... then its says its finished so i reboot an i still have the old ROM on my phone
its getting really annoying now as im stuck with a ROM that keeps rebooting...
can anyone advise of a Sense based ROM that doesn't use the aroma installer or what can i do to get the aroma installer working..
Many Thanks

well its in clockworkmod and its called full wipe/factory reset theres no format all partitions except sd card option on it. if i do this wipe along with the dalvik and cache then install rom without aroma it works. its like aroma is just thinking its wiped even though i manually wipe in CWM and superwipe in aroma
i have managed to get a sense based rom that worked without aroma now so not a massive issue but i woiuld like to kno of a fix in cse i decide to use aroma in the future as i think thats the way all the ROM builders are going arent they?
regards

First, reboot into recovery.
2) Wipedata/factory reset
3) Mount everything
4) Wipe everything except SD-Card
5) (If in CWM recovery, go in advanced and here Wipe Dalvik cache)
6) Install the ROM
7) Advanced - Fix permissions
If still not working, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389445 I wasn't able to boot any single ROM based on HTC Sense, but when I've tried this, it worked for me
Hope I helped
So i have to use cwm?
I have to format SD card?
I try 2nd method

No, you can choose But when you have CWM, the Dalvik chache option is in Andvanced. In TWRP recovery it's in the wipe option
You don't have to format SD-Card (Only if you want to have increased internal memory, then do a second partition (ext4) and then use the app mount2sd)
When you want to use the file in the link, follow the instructions in the guide from the link and then do the steps I mentioned
I dont have burned nand
I doing it and nothing. This is why i asking.
i have 2 partitions

[Q] Unresponsive Device - Need some help!

Hello,
im pretty new to rooting and custom roms but managed to root my Pico without a problem yesterday.
After that i installed this custom rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2375229
Using Philz Touch recovery v5.15.0
class 4 8gb sd-card
The steps i took:
Partitioned the card ext3 1gb swap 0
Wipe/factory reset
Flashed the rom
After 10 min at the HTC bootscreen the phone started but was very slow/unresponsive and had all kinda services/apps say "Process.xxx.xxx does not respond" pressing wait i got thru the setup but these problems continue with every app. Internet via mobile/wifi and even internet-pass-through is also very slow.
Im pretty sure there is something i didn't do correct as no one else has this problem.
I hope someone knows what the problem is.

your stuck in boot loop .. possible reasons is 1. the no of partitions on ur SD card[it was the issue with me atleast]. i dont know how u have partitioned your card but ideally format your card create a ext4 partition of around 1gb keep the rest a fat32. copy the rom and gapps provided in ur fat32 partition. reboot into recovery , wipe dalvik cache n factory settings n install the rom n reboot . hopefully it should work.
another source of problems is your recovery . if problems persist update your recovery to the latest version TWRP 2.6.3 is good enough n then try again.
hope it helps

the problem was that your partition was not being detected properly due to which it was stuck.. the way you installed cm 9 you can install cm 11..
plus as you created only one partition and new table was made your recovery was able to detect it..:good:
can i install cm 11 without making any partition in my sd card. if so then explain it please. I want to install it on my pico but i have 4GB class4 sd card.

Do all that cleaning and all..
Go to mounts and storage format everything except your SD card .. Flash the ROM..
If you have multiple ext partition delete the partitions or keep only one partition.. First boot takes time so don't worry..
