Once again thank you Shreps. Without you, 510 is nothing

Beautiful work!
Overall, it's fast and smooth. Only got some FC due to split screen occasionally.
One question, how can I install xposed framework? It seems our /system partition is too small to fit the framework after GApps installed.
[Added]
I ended up deleting the LatinIME and installed the Google Keyboard in user space. This freed up 45 MB of system partition.

Did the ART work in this ROM? I am afraid of trying it because of the extensive warning when I switched to ART.
Hi !
PAC for A510/A511 if now "Official"
Nightlies will be available on : * PAC-man ROM Downloads - Official Builds
@cecilyen for now there is some problem with ART on both PAC an CM11
Wait for some dev, they are looking at it
Thank you for keeping the A510 alive

Quick bug report: PAC in black setting will cause FC 100% of the time on my Acer A510.
I should specify my condition. I am using 0330 build with clean flash. I have GApps core and xposed framework with some non UI related modules installed.
When I try to enter the PAC in black in Settings, the Settings crashed. Toggling the PAC in black is fine though.
The error message is as follow.
Unfortunately, Settings has stopped.
Blamed the Split Screen.
Updated:
It was still broken on 04092014 version.

I don't have this issue on my tablet. All seems fine generally in fact.

The Pac Man rom, finally after a few weeks it all went click and loaded it up into my acer a510. Thanks Shrep for all you have done works great.
Hi and thank you for this.
Probably another annoying question but: which one is more "stable" CyanogenMod 11 for Acer A510/A511 or this one?
I use the same A510 device tree for both CM & PAC, so from the device side it's the same.
About the global ROM stability, in depends on development made by each team, because PAC is based on AOKP + CM + PA, it has more chance to be a little less stable
So CM11 M5 should be "more" stable for now
and poke @Honusnap who loves AOKP & PAC Roms
Another quick bug report, the built-in calendar was not function. It asked for my Google account, but it was not able to communicate with the service afterwards. Also, I couldn't see the calendar sync in Google sync account. The calendar from Google worked fine and actually it also helped the built-in calendar to be functional.
PS. I am on 04092014 version.

For me... i'm using AOKP on one of my A510, stable and using it for more than a year already. My second A510 is stock. I've installed Pac-Man on my A700 ... and really like it, it feel snappy and seems stable for the moment. I only found some small bugs.
There are really a lot of settings in Pac-Man... so it is up to you, are you a granpa and want simplicity... go Stock, you wants settings and customization... go Pac-Man, will be stable enought.. and in case you do not like it... just go back to an other one... :victory:
Ps: using the : pac_a700-nightly-20140409.zip on my A700
Tried it yesterday! I always had the FrankenROM so I had to go back to stock ICS. Did it like this:
- Wipe data
- Install stock update.zip
- Wouldn't boot (stuck at Iconia Tab logo) so I did a data wipe/cache wipe
- Tablet boots
- Did the official update to JB (very nice ROM though )
- Install Shreps 6.0.4 recovery
- Wipe data, cache and data just for fun again
- Install PAC ROM
- Install Gapps
- Boot the ROM!
and it works! however, some stuff doesn't work:
- When you click on PAC in Black (just like earlier mentioned in this thread) you get a FC
- When you click on App Ops (or App Privacy or seomthing) you get an FC
- Stock calendar doesn't sync with android account (had to add my account again to stock calendar, but then it says that it can't connect to google servers)
Also some personal stuff (don't like the boot logo and the stock background) but that is priorirty -99
Thank you for your dev work!! Android 4.4 is very nice! :highfive:

About issues, can you precise which version are you using ? So I will be able to forward it to the PAC Team (because it's only ROM related)
For example, PAC in Black & AppOps are working fine on my tab with my first Unofficial build.
Everyday Nightlies are activated, so don't hesitate if you have time, to update and feedback here
Thanks !

It was the last one yesterday evening, so the 2014 04 14 version Will try the next one today Keep you posted! Want to help you with your dev work
Another question, I am looking for the best functioning 4.4 ROM (don't need full option, just 4.4 and root)...what is the best option with working network location, working camera, etc etc? (Camera works in this ROM, but I read about network location al over the place with the AOSP ROMs, haven't tested this yet but just asking )
One question.
If i'm comming from CM11, do i have to do a full wipe or ist it enough to wipe cache/dalvik??

Full wipe is always recommended, but you can try with only wipe cache/dalvik. If it doesn't boot or if you have major issues, then, Full wipe will be required
I installed the 20140415 build, wiped cache and Stock calander is working.
However, still FC on App Privacy and when clicking on PAC in black (the switch works though)
By the way, I think the FC of the PAC in Black is device specific, because I do not see this in the latest PAC ROM for HTC One XL.

ROM is not booting for me. CM-boot logo and then black screen (but not off). lights from home & back-button are on.
I'm on old HBOOT (2.19) with TWRP 2.7.0.8
EDIT: with full wipe!
Hmmm. Sounds like api levels are wrong. Will fix when my parts get here.
I just tried a dirty flash and I got the PAC man logo and then the black screen issue. Pretty sure I know what the problem is.

This isnt a port. its completely compiled from source. but if you wanna try porting the one x (evita) or nexus 4 are good places to start.
Seriously looking forward to flashing this! Many thanks for bring this to our attention.
I'm currently on stock 4.3 odex released by tr1gg3r84, HBOOT 2.19 and TWRP 2.6.0.0.
Would I need to update my HBOOT and/or my RECOVERY? Was thinking of flashing your modded HBOOT 2.22 and the latest build of Philz recovery.
Also will your overclocked kernel work with this?
Also on the PAC website they have a M4 folder under downloads, is this for our phone?
Cheers!
there are official nightlies for our device as well, anyone tried?

Will test it tomorrow and give a feedback.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
The wakelock blocker is interesting - on CM I had to uninstall Google+ because of fingerprint scanner wakelocks. Now if I could just disable this it would be perfect!
Is this ROM based on the official CM of the FreeXperia-guys? Because their ROM is so snappy and works so well!

Cool! Downloading it now, I will report back :good:
One really minor nitpick: You could add the CM-version the ROM is based on in the OP, I'd appreciate this information.
But thank you very much for your work, mate! This tablet is so good, it begs for a variety of custom ROMs!
P.S: Why are you running stock?

OK, I have tried it out and can report back:
Installed PAC ROM and PA GApps (from 2014-08-18)
- Very snappy, very good performance (Antutu v5.0 43739, 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited 19278)
- Themes work
- App bar works
- Cool boot animation, cool lock screen see through
- Bright as hell, like official CM; Fortunately one can also fine-tune the automatic settings :good:
- Like when first installing CM, I had to reset the tablet once with the reset-key. Hope this was the only time, too...
- Wakelock blocker is cool! I'm missing a possibilty to sort by apps and a search function, but otherwise it look fantastic! Cannot report whether it works, though.
- Cannot tell anything about battery runtime yet (I'll be abroad for a few days, so I can say something in probably a week or so)
But my first impression is very good! Keep up the good work!

Downloading now...... :good::good: Thanks for this. Will let you know how I get on
Downloaded and updated last night from 9/29 build. everything looks fine so far No noticeable changes.
I have a questions. I changed the nav buttons to use different icons. How do I revert to stock? There does not seem to be a way.
Thank you for the work and for supporting this device!
Thanks it is good to see continues support for our device.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using XDA Free mobile app
Having used this for a few hours all was well, no changes to anything, other than logging in to google and setting up my wifi. It then started random rebooting and lost my wifi, which I could not turn back on in the settings, as its gryed out. Had to flash back my stock image Had similar with lates nightly from CM11. Both also lost notifications bar at the top of the screen and the dock at the bottom, so it was impossible to get to anything, as I had not had chance to setup many icons.
Been playing with Android roms since 1.6 and not had this type of issue. I am sure it will be resolved soon though. Whilst it was running OK, this ROM was ultra snooth and pretty snappy. :good:

No problem! There is a pretty simple way to do this is you use TWRP
1. Place rom and gapps (same version) on your device to install
2. Boot to recovery
3. Go to advance wipe, delete ONLY system and cache, NOT DATA
4. Install ROM & Gapps
Follow these steps and it will restore to stock while retaining your data, hope this helps

PAC builds from CM (as well as many other ROMS) I will make another build tonight and place in the basketbuild incase their are issues that were ironed out. You can use the above method I recommended to barth2 to upgrade w/o changing any of your data or installed apps.
Look forward to trying it out. Thanks.

Checking in: my nook hd+ has never run so smoothly. Terrific work!!
I was going to pass this to my sister and upgrade to the tab s for the OLED screen mainly and better speed but now I wonder why pay so much money when I have something perfectly workable.
Loaded this up, stilling having issues with netflix (Laggy audio).
I now also seem to be getting a screen flicker in some apps, maybe it just needs a restart.

I agree, PAC rom is pretty sweet. I wasn't even able to use WiFi tethering with my carriers stock software, now I'm able to without restrictions xD

This guy is all over the m8 now! Good work, a lot of new roms in here!
Any list of what's not working yet? I see a bunch of stuff still being worked out on CM12, I assume that's the base so might still be issues here?
How often do you update to latest CM12?
Thanks in advance! Exactly what I was looking for!
Finally pac man is here
And I flashed it right after it was posted and have been on all it all day with zero issues.

Running PAC now... Everything seems to be good so far, but I'm running into an issue I had running LiquidSmooth for KitKat... The audio sounds like it's being played on blown speakers on the top two volume steps. I love playing music on my phone. It's like a little boom box. So I'm kind of particular on the audio. Is anyone else getting that?
Nice to see some of the more advanced ROM features making a comeback. Not all features listed in the OP are in this ROM. That list is an image, likely, with the screenshots, just carried over from KitKat or Jellybean. I do like having three navigation ring circles. Cool place to put flashlight toggle and screen off.
Back to the music... I think it was explained to me before that HTC doesn't provide source on their adsp (Android digital signal processor?), so that's why the Sense ROMs stick with Boomsound or Harmon/Kardon, and the GPE ROMs I guess do the same because they have it built in, but AOSP ROMs can't use either of them... CM makes it work with that AudioFX and everyone else uses Viper4Android... Probably nothing that can be done. I blame HTC, I think that's about where it's due... I'm just glad that the GPE ROM has so many options. This has more, and will probably get more still. The ones I'm holding out for are navbar customization (move/add/remove icons, long press shortcuts) and on-the-fly DPI changing. I'm sure the fun AOSP ROMs will get them before GPE, though, you never know.
Anyway, so glad to see PAC on the M8. It was my favorite ROM on the Motorola Electrify (Photon 4G) and I used it a few times on the Galaxy S3.
Looking to switch over from liquid, does MMS and tap to pay work?
No issues with pac-rom. I update my roms all the time. and so far, mms and tap to pay does work.

What's not working with the camera? I currently don't have the phone as my wife is down south for a couple of weeks. But, I plan on releasing an update later this week with LTE fixed hopefully and maybe camera if something isn't working.
EDIT: Will merge the camera fixes in the kernel later today and have an update hopefully later.

unfortunately, camera has stopped.
I clean its cache, does not work.
and the third camera APP like opencamera does not work.
I flashed this slim gapps: http://slimdevs.com/Gapps/Lollipop/Slim_mini_gapps.BETA.5.0.x.build.0.x-20150324.zip
now open camera can work with 2 pics.

Why would you flash Slim Gapps, when I said to use the ones in OP. You shouldn't have any issues if you use PA gapps.
Edit: Sorry for being short earlier. But, just noticed that PA gapps is down and I'll try to find gapps that do work but try not to use Slim because they are based differently than Pac

Hello.
I have been on this ROM since the previous build to the current. I must say ~ Great Job!! :highfive:
You are on the right track. I am using the PA Gapps with this ROM (Dated 03.15.15). Which Kernel is used with this ROM and any other Kernel/s you can recommend?
P.S. ~ Feel free to ask me any question.
P.S.S. ~ Tested the 'Open Camera' App and an error message displayed ~ "FAILED TO OPEN CAMERA. CAMERA MAY BE IN USE BY ANOTHER APPLICATION?"
Tested the Camera that's included with the ROM and an error message displayed ~ "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped."
Restarted/Rebooted the mobile device and tried using both cameras again. See below for results.
Open Camera ~ Same results!!
Camera included with Rom ~ Same results!!
Thank you,
~ Ghost Protocol
When this happened on other ROMs a reboot would usually fix it. Usually. There's a camera restart app that you can get from the play store that may or may not help until a fix comes along. You might look into the thread by mastamoon for more details.
If the fix is in the kernel as mentioned I've been using dkp with another lollipop build and open camera works great. Just a suggestion.
Great to see PAC doing their thing here with lollipop too. Many thanks to the PAC devs!

@Ghost Protocol Thank you for the feedback on what works and what doesn't I'll try and make a new build hopefully on sunday.
@griz.droidx I'll look into dkp and see what they've done to their kernel, thank you.
