Let me preface this by saying I am fairly new with rooting and flashing /flamesuit. I have a sprint galaxy tab that I rooted (or tried to root I should say) using z4root. I applied a permanent root and everything went fine. I then installed rom manager to help with putting clockworkmod and flashing roms. My tab has the superuser app on it, but rom manager still displays an error message that says my tab needs to be rooted before I can use it, I cant even install cwmod. At this point I'd just like to start over and use a different method to root the tab but everytime I try to remove the root using z4 the tab vibrates a few times before force closing. If there is something I could use to restore my tab without clockworkmod I would be very appreciative if someone could bring it to my attention.
Thanks
Try using SuperOneClick to UNroot your tab.
do a search of the forums for z4root
Hello ...
I got a problem. I have a rooted samsung galaxy s 2.3.3. I rooted it using a tutorial that I found on XDA (used Odin 1.83). Well, after rooting, I got 3 apps: CWM, Tweaks and Superuser. Now that I put my applications back with Titanium Backup, I want to un-root it. Any ideas ?
I saw at Odin that to root it I need a rooted PDA file. Should I try to find an stock PDA file ?
By the way: I suceed removing superuser with GingerBreak 1.2, but I don't know how to remove the CWM and Tweaks.
Also, I don't want to lose any data (like applications, if possible)
Baseband is: XXJVQ (I don't want to change it)
Android was updated via Samsung Kies.
Thanks
Hello all,
I have had my Galaxy i5500 for awhile now and have used odin to flash updates for the firmware etc.
I have recently rooted my phone using Superoneclick and this worked fine. Overclocked the phone, and ran a number of Apps using SuperUser Access to gain all the benefits from this.
I installed Titanium Backup and Installed it on my SD Card, this caused a number of problems and I had to pull the battery on my phone to reboot it. Anyway it then hung at the GT-I5500 screen and I ended up having to download a new firmware (not custom) and use Odin to update it.
I now have a working phone, however I now can't root it. I have tried Superoneclick, that no longer works. I have also tried Universal Androot..with that I get an error message of Root Failed - No Fu Guu (or something like that) and I have just tried using z4root... with that it says acquiring Root Shell and then it just kicks me out...have checked and it's not rooted.
I also can't seem to access the reboot menu on my phone (the one where you press a couple of buttons to enter the menu where you can factory set your phone.
Can anyone shed any light on this? Other than these problems mentioned, the phone works as it should
Solved....
It took awhile of trying different root software but.... after reflashing my phone with another stock rom, I found Super One Click still didn't work, nor did z4root or universal Androot (I'm guessing it would have worked without reflashing a different rom).
I did however find that Unlock Root 2.2 worked! My phone is now flashed, no error messages and I have Superuser Access!! Now time to install a custom bootloader and start with the custom roms!!
Today my apps were acting weird so i went to my superSU and it said
"there is no SU binary installed, and superSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
Seems like I've tried everything to fix this problem. Flashed stock rom using Odin, reflash CF-root after that. Tried installation custom recovery (can't flash using recovery because my phone is encrypted unless there's a way to by pass that). Used different cords, ports, versions of odins. Still nothing. Had this problem since the morning it's now 8pm here so i decided to ask.
Anyone know how to fix this issue?

I have also just experienced this. Everytime I try to remember root and run root checker it says not rooted.
try root with twrp and a kernel like "adam kernel" or a nearly stock one. Then try flash form recovery supersu 2.74
Ive got the same issue. I have G920i stock 6.0.1 rom and stock kernel and rooted using cf-root. However today i noticed my device is not rooted anymore. Also a week ago my phone completly froze and i had to go to download mode and reboot the device. Im not really sure if this incident was related for the device to become unrooted. Any help is appreciated
Same problem! I rooted my galaxy s7 with cf-root and odin and it worked fine for a while until I got no root privileges and had to reroot it. It worked once more and again - unrooted by itself, only this time rooting doesn't work! it says that it roots it but when I check supersu, it says no SU binary. Please someone help!
same issue
deveice is s6 and china version.
I just bought it one week
wait the solution.
Strange, same thing just happened to me today in Samsung S7. Phone restarted on its own and now no root access. I had it rooted like 2 months ago with Cf and Odin and had been working fine. What happened??
same here , S6 G920F... lost all access from rooted apps tried re-root with odin , also installing supersu again and again , deleted also all the required-rood apps ... nothing works
Hey guys this is already solved. Samsung pushed a security policy update that broke the root. So now the way to go is that you need to flash stock rom with odin. I used smart switch which is easier and worked too. Then after you have stock rom you root using the new cf-auto root by chainfire. Enjoy.

This happened to me today, I fixed by restoring to stock using smart switch and then using cf-autoroot to re root.

Basically I just fixed it by reflashing my ROM straight on top of my old ROM (ressurection remix) I did not wipe cache or dalvik just straight reflashed ROM and it fixed it
Nothing else I tried worked not sure if I will get the same error again but it worked for now
Plus I had error previously with su binary update think this is the cause
Hi there guys!
I do have a s4 mini lte and for the past week I've tried almost everything when it comes to rooting my mobile.
THe first thing I tried was Kingoroot and then Kingroot but it looked like it wasn't possible to root it using them.
Then I installed CWM with Odin(I tried with TWRP but got Red error on Odin). I flashed the zip with CWM and when the phone booted up, it looked for updates for 5-10 secs and then I opened SuperSU (it was installed) it kept saying that there were no binary found.
I had to download the latest version of Supersu (2.79) and when I tried to flash it, I got "You lost root access"
FIx it? Yes/No
I pressed no since it was suggested on other forums to do so, but then I still got the same problem with SuperSU ( no binary found)
I did wipe cache, tried also with factory reset, disabled and then re-enabled supersu, updated it from playstore, but still no root.
How the hell am I supposed to root this stupid phone?
Thank you
