[Q] [Windows RT] How to ARM compile x86 exe's for use in jailbroken Surfaces? - General Questions and Answers

Hey XDA members,
I have got a surface recently, and have looked into jailbreaking (I can't at the moment because 8.1 isn't jailbroken yet, but when it is I will jailbreak)
I have learnt that to run some x86 exes, they need to be ARM compiled, I want to learn how this is done, if someone could give me some pointers or give me a tutorial to look at, it would be greatly appreciated. One other question is what program is used (I think I saw someone talking about Visual C++ being used to compile but I'm not sure)
Thanks,

Wine on android

Well on other forums i heard that people ran wine (not much info about it) and through this they could run PC games like age of empires 2...so now that app grabbed my interest. Any information how this can be possible and some help setting this all up would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

[Q] Windows on G-Tab

Noob question and I dont know if this has been asnwered somewhere else. Can windows be booted on the G-tab? Just wondering
Thanks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910314 Check this thread.
NO, windows only runs on x86 chips, not arm.
Thank you guys that answered my question.
Hey, bumping this thread because of CES update I watched. From what I heard, when they showed the new version of Windows (don't get excited, they just showed some technical features, nothing big) they said that it would be able to run on ARM platforms, and actually showed it running on one. Do you think this would therefore work on the g-tab? Discuss?
Yes the upcoming Windows 8 could in theory work on the G-tab but until it's out and we have more info on it we don't know

Cyanogen Mod for Surface

XDA wouldn't let me post this anywhere else. Don't rage.
Is it possible for someone to develop a port of CM7 to run on the microsoft surface, with dualboot or an application of some kind? I recently bought a surface, and am getting annoyed by the lack of good apps.
Would it be possible for any of you to write a version that could be run? I am physically incapable of writing code, so I could use some help.

[Q] Complete Newbie to Forums.... wondering how many things the RT can run?

I used to develop VB apps in VB.6 and made a couple custom apps that I'd love to get running on my brand new, nearly virgin Surface RT.
I am really liking the Surface RT, and can't understand what some people have against it.
That being said, I'd love to try programming on VB for my new toy. Is anyone able to guide me through how to set this up? I got Visual Studio 2012, I've jailbroken and updated my tablet. I'm excited to begin but I am such a newbie to this "new generation" programming that I am unsure how to start and what I can get working.
Will my old VB app just run on RT? what do I need to do to convert it?

Installing Ubuntu Linux mobile version on xperia s

Hello
I'm planning to install Ubuntu mobile version on my xperia s but I've no idea how to do it, can someone please help me by explaining step by step procedure. Thanks a lot in advance.
I'd really be interested in doing the same. Since its HTML based, I'm guessing tweaking the OS should be considerably simpler. Opens up a lot more doors in terms of customizing technology to work as per the needs of the consumer.
