I have a Nexus 5 32 GB and I was wondering if it is possible to put HTC Sense 6 on the Nexus 5. I really like Blinkfeed and I cannot find any applications that mimic the functionality of blinkfeed. Does anybody know of a ROM I can flash or any applications that mimic the functionality of blinkfeed.
you can not, and no.

If you don't mind me asking, why not? I thought Android was open source and could do anything with it!

HTC Sense is NOT open source. It's proprietary.

android is open source, sense is not. sense is owned and controlled by htc, and needs htc's framework to run it. since sense isnt open source, you have no access to its code. porting it is very time consuming, and is always partially and imperfect(if you can get it to run at all). its so time consuming and difficult, that for 99.9999% of people its not worth wasting their time trying to port it.

Oh OK sounds right. Do you know of any apps that can mimic the functionality of blinkfeed.
I've not seen any yet to be honest. Just keep an eye on the "android apps and games" forum on xda as most cool new apps end up there.

Seriously, is the hype for stock GB really that important? Still surprised LG hasn't said anything yet.

Only if MIUI was open source Their idea is amazing, their implementation is cool, but not open source.

How is that miui isn't open source? Isn't it based off android?
Sorry for the stupid question

Looks like some new better features like the app launcher button and the phone button. Much better than the current look IMO.
i don't use sense anyways.
Nice but what are the chances we'll get it. We're not even sure what elements from sense 3.0 we're supposed to get. Well here's hoping we least get the lockscreen.
I would actually be surprised if we didnt get it (or at least some components of it) at some point. I mean the devs here are great. We already have a number of full sense 3.0 ports that work great. Not to mention all after HTC said sense 3.0 cant run on "older" devices like the Thunderbolt

You have to understand from a manufacturer's standpoint, if it requires 'too much' (they decide what is 'too much') work to make it operate properly, they simply say "it's not supported on older devices". I mean, a glitchy GPS, for instance, just isn't acceptable on a "stock" ROM, but to people like us, running custom ROMs, we accept some tradeoffs.
Sense 3.0 has its issues on slower devices. For instance, the lockscreen not showing up to answer for some calls? Probably due to hardware limitations.

I guess i was just trying to say that the manufacturers made it seem (or at least that's how i took it) that sense 3.0 or any of its components wouldn't work on the Thunderbolt at all since it didn't have the hardware they specified. But yet we still have stuff out there that works pretty good. But I completely understand/agree with what both of you are saying
I like how the hardware requirements are removed...hmmmm

cuz everyone has to get their $0.02 in
if nobody did therethe world would go broke lmao
but i actually dont really like the looks of 3.5
i think 3.0 is as far as i am going
that is until ice cream comes out and ported to thunderbolt then i may just have to jump on whatever sense comes with it
We will never see an official version of sense 3.5 from HTC. If we see it at all it will be from the best devs in the world, from xda

That's just the HTC bliss and similar lower end device specific version of sense.

There's this neat little app on android phones called... wait... let me go look, I keep forgetting what it's called.
Ohhh there it is. It's called "Market"
You can get things from there. Things like the XDA App.
One reason I dont want to leave HTC
If the newer phones will run it with specs below that of the Thunderbolt, odds are we will get it.

Is possible to use WP7 Roms on Nexus s? If yes, which rom?

Windows phone 7.x?
I guess never.
There is no driver for exynos(hummingbird).
Instead, you can theme..

I say there will NOT be a wp7 rom in the foreseeable future, since wp7 is closed source, and lisenced by microsoft. as the post above said, yes, you can theme it, but underneath it is still android. if you want the wp7 feel, try launcher 7, it works just like wp7. hope this helps

ok just wondering. I've seen apps on google play store that offer "sense" layouts but they dont really offer sense layouts. they just offer a waste of storage
Look in the Development section, there is one in the work, but its not easy so it will take a long time to get to become stable.

Maybe by comunity. Officialy seriously no.
I think ASUS will deliver. The TF300 is already very well equipped (hardware-wise) to run any android 4.x, especially the lighter 4.4. I am really looking forward to it.

its working for many devices with old 4.3 drivers, so someone could compile it for us.... in theory, I wish I could, but i wouldn't know where to start

It definitely needs something to address the performance problems. Mine is slow when it boots, and unusable when it is updating apps from the Play Store. It sounds like Kit Kat may improve performance. If so, I can see why they may go to the effort.

Most likely by community. Probably not by CM since that fell apart.
