Im rooted running cyanogen 6 RC2. Anybody else have a lot of force closes after you unlock? If so any suggestions to repair it. Thanks
I had lots of problems. Like no loading Widgets etc. Everything fixed on CM6.RC3. Now works flawlessly.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Wipe everything and install new cm rc3.
I'm using RC3 and no problems
I had constant FCs on RC3 after I did a LP backup restore. I then reinstalled LP completely, restored the backup again, and all was fine
thanks guys after updating to RC 3 everything LP seems to be functioning great. Thanks again guys
Hello, I'm quite new to this, but i sucessfully rooted and installed cyanogenmod built 26 + google apps. It worked perfectly but after a short while, when I tried to open the Android Market, It says it is loading than crashes or whatever and goes back to homescreen. It sent out no error messages.
I tried reinstalling google apps, both gb and hdpi, upgrade cyanogenmod to built 27, and restoring market app to working version using Titanium Backup. They all couldn't fix the problem.
I than restore the kernel itself to stock using clockwork recovery, than the market did work.
Is there any way to fix this market issue on cyanogenmod? Or is it different issue related to Android Market?
Thanks for helping out this newbie!
I was having similar issues with CM7 so I just gave up on it until it they have a release candidate and not just nightlies.
Okay thank you for the info
I think I'll stay with the stock kernel or some other stable rom.
btw, how does the nightly build cyanogen mods work? Like why is it every night, whats the difference of every built, when will the stable version comes out?
Thanks
I have CM 6.1.1 and I have the same problem with market app.
I tried restoring the market app I was using before i flashed to CM6.1.1 but market app crashes, it opens up and the home screen is displayed again.
I tried downloading the market app apk and installing it but I faced the same problem again. Anyone have any idea how to go about this?

you just bumped a months old thread.
you're using CM 6.1.1, this is discontinued -- you're probably trying to use new markets on 2.2
its also pretty obvious that you don't have a Nexus S either :\

As always, I am not responsible for you bricking your phone. Odin is not a toy, CWM Recovery is not a toy. Installing custom ROMS is relatively easy, but if you are unsure what you are doing, do some research on XDA or Google BEFORE you start messing around. This ROM is working and running on my S730M and I have had no problems so far.
OMG!
I've been waiting so long for somebody to make a custom rom for this phone! This is the first custom rom for this phone at last! I shall try it out and get back to you my good sir.
Sweet! Thanks :laugh::good:

Thanks! It was plagued with issues to start, just trying to get a flashable zip of the stock ROM together was a nightmare, and since there wasn't one any where on the internet to use as a base, well... had no choice but to make one. I'm going to release a non over clocked version as well. This one is still close to stock with a few mods and tweaks, so enjoy and I'll keep working away at bringing a true custom to this phone

Good Job!
I flashed it on my Discover today and it worked flawlessly.
By the way, I didn't make the OC script. It was FitAmp, the credits should go to him.
What launcher did you use? and good job on making a working rom for it, I had been messing around with trying to cook one in the kitchen app for the SS730G. I may give that one a shot with flashing this one, the stock rom on it is having issues anyways as when I try to shut it down it reboots 9 times out of 10.

Launcher pro, the only launcher I will use since I bought my first droid, runs clean and light. There's always the option to change to whatever launcher you like, for me, on this phone, runs the smoothest and that's what I'm going for here. Many changes still to come!
Kitchen is a great tool for learning AS LONG as you take a look at every change you implement with kitchen, in the update or updater script itself. The one thing about it is, that if you fully rely on kitchen, even if it does work, you won't learn a thing. All of the changes kitchen makes, can be made in terminal and text editor (Linux) to give you some hands on experience

I'm partial to the Nova Launcher myself, but I know what you mean. While the stock launcher is better than the standard Samsung Touchwiz crap, it definitely could use a speed increase on this phone.
I keep hoping and dreaming that someone will be able to port KitKat to this phone. I just flashed the current SlimKat rom on my Nexus S and I'm impressed with how fast the Google Now launcher performs on it. Maybe with this one overclocked to 1GHz and it having 512 megs of ram which I think is a little more than the Nexus S had it would make a different.

Kit Kat was built to run on 512mb, from everything I've heard it utilizes memory way better than any other version yet. I'm going to look at porting ROMs to this device, but one project at a time . It should be possible though. Even if I can port a stock 4.4.2 and start customizing from there, I think this phone would benefit tremendously from it, more so then newer more powerful devices.

I flashed my 730G with this rom, so far it looks good. I may switch the launcher to a different one but other than this it looks and appears to run fine. I can't test the radio at the moment as my net10 sim is cut down to nano size and I can't find my regular sim to nano sim adapter. I know I have one but finding it will be the fun part.
Double check the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS etc, make sure they turn on and work. They should as they work fine on the 730m, but you never know. I haven't seen the build.prop for the G

And check your root too. If root works than the rooting process is the same for both. Just open root browser and if it asks for superuser access you're golden. Plan to add terminal and cpu tuner in the next update.

The wi-fi and GPS appear to work fine. I still haven't been able to find my nano to regular size sim adapter. I wound up replacing launcher pro with nova launcher, and I also installed Titanium backup which I used to integrate the google keyboard. After I switched over to it, I froze the samsung keyboard which was a pain in the ass to have to work with. You may want to look into switching the keyboard if you have a preference in a future release. I really like the google keyboard myself.

I've considered switching the default launcher to nova, or I should say I've tried to. I've had issues with everything I've tried, except launcher pro, and lightning launcher. Lighting launcher is actually extremely fast and lightweight, I think the app itself is less the a MB, but its far different than your standard, familiar style of launcher so I opted out. I've tried solo, which is nearly identical to nova, except there's no pro version, all "pro" features are entirely free. I've also tried KK launcher, again very similar to nova, but all three of them will not load after the initial setup screen. Just don't work well as system apps. Loading them into the data partition should solve this problem, but they install with a file size of 0 MB, and again, won't actually load. All of them work fine when installed from the market, or from an apk, just haven't had luck packaging them with the ROM. I'll look into the keyboard thing. I prefer Swype, but given it's a paid app, I can't really incorporate it, and I don't want to just include a 30 day trial app in the ROM. I'll keep plucking away at it tho. Thanks a ton for your input
Sent from my SGH-T989D using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
ok I just wiped it and went thru setup, it worked with no issues with the samsung keyboard and the nova launcher as system apps. maybe this will help for customizing the rom further? Also it might be a good idea to remove the updater app just to be safe. While I don't think that they would ever push out a rom update for the samsung S730M or S730G it might cause issues if someone who didn't know better used the updater app and downloaded a rom update. It may not be an issue, but I figured it was worth mentioning
I wanted to give an update. I was able to successfully use your rom as a base to make my own custom rom. I had to extract the updater script binary from yours to drop into the appropriate folder in my working folder. I'm going to do a little more fine tuning on what apps I want to include but I should have it ready to share soon.
Also, I finally found my adapter so I was able to read my Net10 sim in my S730G, other than it not having the correct APN which I had to manually enter It worked with no problems once I setup the APN, full signal and no issues with downloading anything once the APN was setup.
OK I've finished the 1.0 version of my rom. it can be found here
Thanks but
before I flash this I want to know if anyone knows where I can download the odin flashable stock firmware for this device. So glad that this is out though but this phone is only 4 months old for me still got 8 months for something to go horribly wrong with it
Thanks! Overall OK.

There is no Odin flashable ROM for this phone. I do have there stock flashable zips tho. Worst case scenario, you Odin flash recovery, then flash the stock zip via cwm. I've been working on CM 9, and have not been able to get it to work, but no matter how many times I've flashed it, I can always flash back to stock via recovery, haven't bricked yet

following!
I'm new to flashing in general so I am just learning what the process entails, but I just put CM11 onto an N7 '13 and I am very impressed with what people are doing. I also have a sluggish Samsung Discover so I'm very interested in how this work proceeds!
Best of luck everyone and thank you Atmu5fear, hopefully I can share my experience soon as well.
Hi everybody,
Since i've updated my phone to lollipop i can't get custum wallpaper. I change it but everytime i charge my phone the wallpaper change for the stock one.
Anyone have this issue too ?
I'm running xtraslim rom with franko kernel and the last version of nova launcher.
And my girlfriend have this issue too with completly stock n5 no rooted.
Edit: a friend have this issue too but he doesnt use nova launcher.
Completly stock nexus 5 with lollipop
Thanks
Nope, no issue here
Sent from my Android 5.0 Nexus 5
Also no issue.
No problem here either.
Give it another shot. Nova just updated today and it includes the new Lollipop app drawer as an option. Looks awesome! You can even set custom color & transparency levels. No more blinding white app drawer!
I thought it looked poo. Lol
Sent from my Android 5.0 Nexus 5
The only thing I would like to see is the corners of the app drawer a tad bit more rounded. I'm sure if it's brought to the attention of the developer, we could see it in a future update. However I love being able to change the color and transparency. I think it looks great.
A friend of my have this issue too but he does'nt use nova launcher he use the stock google one so its an lollipop issue.
So its strange nobody have this issue exept me,my girlfriend and a friend.
lollipop wallpaper issue
hi there,
i got that exact same issue since i switched to lollipop too. i got it on stock google's LRX21O, on a custom LRX21Q PureWhite ROM and now on xtrasmooth 2.3 LRX21V ROM. at this point, i'm pretty sure it's not ROM related.
since we're both from quebec, i'm starting to think that this might be software related. maybe it's caused by a specific app like "lapresse mobile", "radio-canada", "SAQ" or "omnivox". we should try uninstalling those and see what we've got...
[edit: removed "radio-canada" app with no success.]

Lollipop wallpaper issue
I am from Québec too. Same problem.
Also applies with ringtones. Anyone noticed?

Finally after testing everything possible, its a language issue with french(Canada).
I've switch my phone to english(US) and the issue is completely gone. Maybe french(France) will work too if you want to stay in french.
Hi,
I have the exact same issue here. Nexus 4 unlocked and rooted, Lollipop fresh new install (I was on CyanogenMod before).
Language is French Canadian and I use Nova.

Anybody else able to get Waze working properly on a Sense 7 Rom? I am currently running FluentRom 7.5. In the past, had DH's GPE 5.1 and Waze worked on that but the ROM had issues with my sound controller app. Any recommendations or insights to a Sense 7 ROM that Waze works would be great. Figured I'd ask first before I flash all the things.

I'm currently on DH's 5.1 but I was previously on Neo's sense 7 version of adrenaline and I don't recall having any issues with Waze. What exactly isn't working properly? I think I still have a nandroid I could pull up to test it out.

The app just isn't loading. It tries to load then crashes. I am currently in the middle of reinstalling it. Hopefully it was something I did upon initialization of the app. If not, I'll give Neos ROM a whirl. Thanks.
reinstalling fixed the issue. I messed up on the initialization of the app first time around.

I don't have a Sense 7 ROM, but I can tell you from previous experience with custom ROMs that Waze was the one app that never worked if I tried to restore from a Titanium Backup. It would always crash on launch.
So every time I'd upgrade my phone ROM and restore all apps, I always had to uninstall Waze and re-install it from the Play store. YMMV.
