[Request] Motorola Spotlight Player - Moto X Themes and Apps

I know this is specifically for the Moto X but I have a droid maxx with unlocked bootloader. Would it be possible to get this neat app running on my phone?
Sent from my unlocked consumer edition Motorola Droid Maxx xt1080m.

I would think so as software can't be that different, I'll try to zip it shortly

Has anyone got this working? I am very interested in having it on my rooted droid maxx

Rooting xt925 on 4.1.2 without unlocking the bootloader?

Is that possible? All the root tools threads I seem to be able to find on here and rzr forum have posts that say it doesn't work with the latest OTA update. Am I missing something here? Is Motorola so actively patching everything that there is no way to get root if the device has the latest OTA update?
Thanks.
Root is still possible by rolling back to the older firmware but you can't unlock the bootloader.

I just picked up a brand new XT925 running 4.1.2 and all the methods I tried failed
Then I tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2241788 and bingo rooted and unlocked bootloader
You don't need the monster download the Lite edition is fine
Good luck :good:

Oh, since it is a 925 (probably international edition), can't I just ask Motorola to unlock the bootloader? https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a
Also, how does one roll back to older firmware? RSDLite and flashing older stock, like on Atrix HD?

Nice, I will give this a try. However, why the 900+ MB Lite? Wouldn't the 3 MB Ultra-Lite work for just rooting and unlocking the bootloader? Or did you have to use the stock stuff as well?
Also, did you try the Toolkit 4.0? Did that fail as well? As far as I can see, both use the same methods for unlocking and rooting!
Cant remember now, I tried all the others and none worked and I stumbled across it
I think the micro download was not enough (sorry cant recall what extra was needed) but I remember on the micro the numbers on the menu did not match with the commands (look at the batch file) but the normal was fine
Is yours the developer edition? Otherwise no they won't unlock it.

Currently, the Photon Q 4G LTE, DROID RAZR M(Developer Edition), DROID RAZR HD(Developer Edition CDMA-LTE), MOTOROLA RAZR HD (Rest of World -UMTS/LTE), MOTOROLA RAZR HD (Rogers Canada - UMTS/LTE) and MOTOROLA RAZR i are supported by the Bootloader Unlock site.

You should have received an email with your Unlock Key. If you did not, check you spam folder. Inside the email is a UNIQUE_KEY, a 20-character alphanumeric code that you will use to unlock your device.

There aren't a few ways to root the phone, there are two. If you're unlocked you can flash a SU .zip or use a utility, or if you're locked you can only use a utility. Be careful using random exploits, that's the quickest way to make a brick.

Try it again. The Motochopper for your system version is in that utility, theres no other root option out there. Motochopper 1.3 is the root utility for your system version, but the links for the stand alone script have been taken down because too many people were trying to use it on the newest OTA and bricking their phones. FYI 9.20.1 is rootable.

[Q] How can I root a Verizon SCH-I535 4.3?

Hi,
I was recently given a stock Verizon SCH-I525 but unfortunately they had upgraded it to android 4.3. I have tried almost every way to root this thing with no luck. How do I go about rooting this version? If I can't, is there a way to flash it back to one of the older versions and then root it?
Thanks
Jim
Would Also Like to know if this is possible?

New Cricket / AIO / AT&T Overlords Moto G Android 4.4.3 Still Waiting....
I have no faith that att will allow the update as the newer moto 4g lte will be out soon...
so i guess that no one on att's aio / new cricket cares about the 4.4.3 update?
I have no faith that it will be released in this country on any carrier other then the unlocked versions that are carrier anogistic aka the international versions. Well i guess lenovo will not let moto do the update for non google play editions... and att can care less. they would love for us to just buy new phones at full price to get the latest os... also would be great to have sd card slot... phone is limited with out for playing games... i want a 128gb microcdxc
I second this completely, looking forward to 4.4.3 on AIO/Cricket Motorola G.
Anyone heard any news or information about this?

They'll probably update it, because it fixes a root exploit that gives you freedom to do some fun stuff.
Remember, they have to modify it so you don't have wifi tether. I got sick of that and got an unlocked one. Never again.

It is a tethered root and it doesn't give write access to /system but it does give other apps root. I'm going to use it to transfer stuff in /data to my other moto g.

I am so frustrated with this whole process with rooting AIO Wireless Moto G. All I want is to use Tasker and Xposed Framework, is that so much to ask for?

A little searching can go A LONG way.
After some testing I must admit that the GPS lock time (with this version N) is 3-6X the time needed by the previous version before update (MM). Have you noticed the same issue?
