[Q] dual sim with two addressbooks in whatsapp - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
my wife has two smartphones (one private, one business) and wants to change to a dual sim phone (acer liquid e2 duo).
On the new phone there will be two addressbooks each assigned to on of the sim cards.
For private she is using whatsapp and the question is, if there is a possibility to restrict whatsapp to the private addressbook. There is no need and she does not want to upload all her business contacts, they do not even know the private number which is registered in whatsapp.
Regards,
Donny

[Q] Whatsapp/Viber account from lost phone to new one?

Hi Guys
This is a wierd issue. My daughter is travelling in South America. She has, to all intents and purposes, lost her iPhone 3 or 4 and has bought a new Samsung Galaxy S4. With her new phone she had to buy a sim card. Her only means of contact with us is via Whatsapp and Viber. Since she has a new number and the two apps work off the old phone number is there any way to restore her old accounts to her new phone?
Appreciate some help
Brian

Hello,
As for Viber, she can simply reinstall it on her new device with the new sim, restoring previous account is not available.
Good luck!
So you are not talking about the messaging history to restore. But the app itself. In that case, I would say try to port the old phone number either to the new galaxy s4 or to a second device. After you get the number ported than its easy to intercept the whatsapp SMS verification code.
For the future, I recommend using a Google voice number to register with these apps. That way, you always have access to the number to verify. Of course you'll than have to deal with two numbers.. one is the real cell phone and the other for whatsapp and other apps.

[Completed] Dual sim features

Hello all,
I have 2 SIM cards, one for work and one personal. I think to buy a dual SIM phone.
I have some questions about dual SIM features:
1) Can I define an Account\Gmail Contacts\Groups that will be assigned to the different Sim card (for example: I want to define that to all my work contacts will dial\send SMS from work SIM card and to my private contacts will be dial\send SMS from my personal SIM card without the need to choose every call which SIM card to use)?
2) If the answer to the first question is YES, do I need to go to every contact and assign it to default SIM or it can be defined by Contact group\Gmail contact account?
3) If I get a call from number that not in my contact list, If I will redial it will the call go from the SIM that got this call or I will need to choose which sim should I use ?
4) Can I define a different sound profile schedule for each SIM card ?
If those features are not built in Android system, is there any App that can do this or is it possible to develop an app with those features?
Thanks
Eli

Question about having 2 Whatsapps on the same phone

I need to set up an alternative Whatsapp for work and generally people I don't trust.
I installed Whatsapp in Parallel Space
I got a free alternative number with the Flyp app (very handy). I don't plan to make any calls, only text.
I was now going to proceed to confirm the Whatsapp installed in Parallel Space with the Flyp number so in theory, only people that have that number could see me, but what I don't get is:
Whatsapp looks at your SIM card contacts. Parallel Space's Whatsapp is also looking at this same SIM card contact list even if I confirmed the Whatsapp account with another number.
So wouldn't they see that it's me but with another number?
How the hell I guarantee they don't find out? (as in, how do I keep contacts separated from one Whatsapp to another???)
Please help

Which phone allow dual Whatsapp business?

hello all,
i am using samsung galaxy phones, even though samsung has feature dual-apps , so it lets user to install two whatsapps for example, but only allow 1 whatsapp business app and 1 standard whatsapp apps.
i have 2 whatsapp business number, so i need a phone that can support 2 whatsapp business in 1 phone, it's better if the phone can install more than two WA business (optional) .

True Phone from Hamster Beat alternatives needed

True Phone Dialer & Contacts - Apps on Google Play
Powerful T9 phone and contact manager with dual SIM support and call recorder
play.google.com
I have been using True Phone Dialer & Contacts from Hamster Beat for the past 6 years and it has been amazing.
It has some usual features such as customisation of incoming screen and T9 searching however its most important feature for me has been Dual SIM support and masking or contact binding.
I have two carriers in my phone with free unlimited same carrier calling so I have created rules to only call those carrier numbers from their own SIM card which has cut my phone bill by 70% atleast.
Also another amazing feature it directly calling unknown (not saved in my contacts) numbers through WhatsApp from my call history.
Past few months some features such as WhatsApp direct dialing have stopped working, also many of my contacts are missing from the contact list.
After trying to contact the developer past few months (paid customer) I have given up, the developer is based in russia so not sure if he is even in business anymore.
Can the good folks here at XDA please recommend alternatives (especially with DUAL SIM support as mentioned above)?
Thanks in advance
bump
