[Q] Honami Rom Kernel - Sony Xperia L

Hail!
in the post Honami Rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/development/port-xperia-l-portable-honami-rom-t2688893) the author says that with the kernel phoenix we must install the rom via cwm... but, is it a must? or may I use another kernel with cwm installer, like phantom kernel...
The rom seems very good, and I want to try, but only the phantom kernel works well in my device...
Thanxxx!

C2104 or C2105
another question: I am from South America, so, can I use this kernel? 'cause I don't want lose the 3g...

I don't know much about what a kernel can do and not in South America, but I supose that is the same that in Spain and the rest of Europe, so I don't think that you have to worry about nothing. I strongly recomend you Phantom kernel and Thunderzap kernel. They are excellent!
If there is a problem with the 3g you always can enter in fastboot mode and reset your .ftf firmware and try it again and again, so... for me? There is no problem!

Honami Rom - don't turn off the device!
Hail!
When I turn off the device, the date and time change to 8H00 02 january... Sometimes the date/time get updated, but sometimes not... Any ideas?
The rom is good, very good, using phantom kernel 4 wifi doesn't work, but when flash the phantom 7 everything works...

[Q] Kernel vengeance 1.40

I have an xperia tipo with bootloader unlocked and I'm actually using fxp210.
I want to change the kernel with the Vengeance 1.40.
1. I flash the kernel with flashtool
...then? what kind of rom I can install with this kernel? I'm so confused!
U cant usevthis kernel on cm 10
Only use it on stock rom and other roms based on it
Sent from my Xperia Tipo using xda app-developers app
Use gimlo 0.3
works great with that kernel
awesome speed
DONT use that Kernel on any JB based ROM (like cm10 etc). Your phone just wont start :crying: (like mine).
If you want to use that kernel use any ICS based ROM (like Gimlo or Stock)

Kernel for Tipo

I want to flash a custom kernel but I'm not sure if it would work.
I am running CM10 on my Tipo

Which vengeance version did you flash?
Everything under 1.40 is not very stable because it still has overclocking features, which makes the phone reboot once a while, partly depending on the governor and scheduler.
The last version (1.46) should not reboot as far as I know.

I flashed 1.46
On first boot it took me to the app optimization screen then it switched off
Then I booted again, it took me upto the setup guide then it switched off again
Third time it took 2 mins before it switched off again!
Here's what I did-
I was on CM10
I flashed stock ftf
Then flashed kernel.elf
Then I rebooted
Did I miss something?
Do I need to flash those modules?
which one 3.0.8 or 3.4? Or both?
Now m back to CM, collecting info then I will flash again.

[Q] Link to bodivas repack kernel for 6810

Hi, does anyone have a link to the bodivas repack kernel for the 6810? The link is missing from UTIA's second post in the thread for his kernel. I want to give his kernel a whirl. Thanks, Matt
Ignore this request. I flashed UITA's kernel but my hardware and his ROMs/kernels do not get along :'(
Reverting back to my backup...

I'll upload it later today. Forgot all about it sorry.
Firstly, did you flash the SkyHigh kernel after first boot of any ROM? Don't flash directly after ROM flash. Otherwise boot loop. Only after ROM full boot.
Secondly, make sure that you have no tweaks or tweaking apps etc installed.
For the ROM, you need to follow the installation instructions EXACTLY, using correct recovery version and full wipe install.
Other than that, unfortunately, your hardware may not like some of the kernel tweaking or UV etc.
BTW, I'm working on a SkyHigh kernel update. Maybe try that in future "IF" I ever get to release stage.....

It's weird, I had the same problem with your ROM on ICS. I was hoping JB would be different, but I got exactly the same stability problem. As you say, it must be something to do with the tweaks that upsets my tab. I can report that CIFS works fine with your kernel though!

[Q] help : installing cwm recovery without flashing any kernel

Hi can anyone help me in installing cwm recovery in c2104 without flashing thunderzap, phantom or any other kernel?
My device is entirely rooted with an unlocked bootloader _
I don't know if this will work, but search xparts in the play store, it is an app for flashing xperia recoveries. Idk if it supports L though. But worth a try. Or just download a recovery from ROM manager. Also found in the play store.
Sent from my ST18i
Nothing different between flashing kernels or installing recovery. Flashing kernel is way easier and faster so I would just flash this instead going around and bothering with recovery instalation.

Thank you replying, actually i wanted to flash a couple of tweaks by using cwm_but it looks like now i really have to install a kernel_i have tried both phantom and thunderzap kernels before, phantom was laggy, and games were taking a lot of time in loading on the other hand thunderzap was pretty good but it consumed a lot of battery even when i was using the max frquency at 1ghz only_can you suggest me which kernel to install then, and if it is thunderzap what should be the cpu configuration?

I'm using Extended Stock kernel by @Rachit Rawat
It's pretty solid, games like GTA SA & Minecraft run smooth.
I didn't overclock my phone, only debloated & rooted

Thunderzap kernel-Rom

Hello guys, I got the xperia l c2105 with 15.3.A.14 firmware and with stock rom and kernel and i havent rooted yet (i need some help here too). I just unlocked bootloader (at least this time i didnt have bootloops and stuff like that). I would like you to show me a tutorial about how to flash thunderzap kernel via flashtool (please a detailed one) and i want you to recommend me one of those 2 roms: CM11 or 4.4 kitkat AOSP. Thanks in advance!

This guide to install kernels
But you can't flash thunderzap with cm11 because it's not based of caf yet
So..you can use phantom kernel with any kitkat rom
