[Discussion]Should We also Sign A Petition For Our Xperia L for kitkat update? - Sony Xperia L

Check This Out:-

Petitions are pretty much useless. You can try but there won't be any use of it.

will this bring about a change??

I'd prefer CM11 than stock Sony 4.4
Sent from my C2105 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

if it can make us received the kitkat update, then lets do it.

fixed aosp source
I preffer to have an aosp source fixed by sony, and custom rom from our devs, as time goes by custom roms always getting faster bugfix than stock, that's why i choose so.
Salute to all xl devs.

Sony won't care about this petition..

Great!!!

Although a petition wouldn't work at all, KitKat would be an amazing gift for us with permanently locked bootloaders.

I strongly suspect Sony and other phone manufacturers, but particularly Sony, deliberately withhold android updates so as to sell newer or higher tiered devices. At the end of the day, the xperia l has more than enough processing power, memory and capability to delivery on just about every need. Why would anybody bother buying a higher tier handset if this phone had kitkat?
That said, its a ******* disgrace as there is no good reason this handset shouldn't have kitkat and beyond. Its fully supported and capable. It's just a greedy, couldn't give a **** corporation dragging its heels.
And even if i had an unlocked boot loader, releasing an AOSP package with deliberately crippled bluetooth and gps, two essential features for everyday use, is just plain Rude.

I just got these from xperia m groups in facebook im not sure about the validity

Lolol. N00bs br0. But really though.
well if you guys can get a new boot.img build with a ramdisk from one of the working honeycomb ports and a zimage from a working 32b kernel we can get something going
well honeycomb has been ported to the evo 4g, but its barely functional.

Honeycomb's primary target is tablets
why is this thread cluttering up G1 dev?
yes mainly for tablets. but some member like bypass portet it to the nexus one and it works... so if someone know how we get it boot PM me or yoshi
bypass said we have to edit the boot.img and it will work but yet it only sitting in the htc logo.

well, 2.3 was released not so long ago
it does seem clear that honeycomb has a different target to gingerbread,
the new features of honeycomb are mostly to take advantage of a larger screen size, and more processing power,
sure maybe it could be dumbed down for g1, but what would be the point?
I love my g1, but its time to move on soon, there comes a point when getting something to run on it for the sake of getting it to run becomes futile , by not moving on to better hardware we are ultimately missing out on the great features that an Android OS can give us when running on up to date hardware
I can get Linux to run on a Pentium3 , but why would I want to do that when I can run it on a quadcore intel ?
I'm moving on to the Evo mid-march, but why not try and make the most out of it?

[Discussion] ICS on Tablets

So ive seen all these "leaks" of the *Google*Samsung*Nexus*Droid*Galaxy*Prime*3* with screen shots and videos of what to expect ICS to look like on the new phone... but it was my understanding that this OS was going to merge tabs and phones on one OS. Everyone is pointing out the HC aspects that are applied to ICS on phones, but what will it look like on tabs?!?! no one seems to care or care to report on it or leak it. Im waiting for some goods on my touchpad and as we all know the source for HC will never drop so what can we expect this to look like on our tabs?!?! and where is the fllagship ISC tab?....we had the droid for 2.0 the the nexus s for 2.3 the xoom for hc, and now the *Google*Samsung*Nexus*Droid*Galaxy*Prime*3* for ICS on phones.
so any ideas, thoughts, speculation? will it be just a minor update to HC like 2.3 was on our phones??? what'cha guys got??

Umm, what exactly were you expecting Ice Cream to be? Besides, a picture of the home screen does not tell you everything that changed in the OS

I just can't see this scaling from a tablet to a phone.
Since it's almost time. That leaked picture could be ICS, but I know for a fact 4.0 is out on tablets. Why? A friend of mines father works for Motorola Mobile. Her Xoom Wifi is running ICS.

Oh, and I heard my ICS theme works on this without issues.
Who would have thought?
ICS them works...minus the battery icons not being correct. Also shows the "H" and "3G" instead of the norm tmobile's "4g". I'm working on playing with those.

SWEET! THANKS! I cant wait for it! I know this is not ICS and to some may not be as exciting as it is for me. I just wanted something to flash... I and I'm sure many of others have the flash bug where we need to flash a rom every so often to feel pleased lol. A debloated, de-odexed, zip-aligned rom HAS to be worth flashing... Its not ICS but hell its better than nothing since development for the T-869 is pretty much non existent until now. Hopefully a dev with kernel skills can bring that to the table for us and make it even better!
Great to see some work done on the Tmo version was getting cold in here for us LOL

speaking of Tmobile Tab Plus...
anyone chat with a rep for an ICS date??
I'd be curious to see what they have to say.
maybe I'll do it later just for laughs.
no answer:
REP: Thanks for holding. I have checked and found no specific date or timeframe on when we will receive teh Android 4.0 upgrade for the Samsung Tablet.
ME: do you know if this is planned to receive the ICS update ever?
REP: We are actively working with our OEM partners to ensure that a number of eligible T-Mobile devices are upgraded to Android 4.0 in the coming months and will communicate updates as we have additional details to share.
I think T-Mobile's pretty good with updates, although I could be wrong. I think they just need to wait for Samsung to get off their @ss, after that tmobile needs to bloat it further with their software AND test it. So I would wager late summer/fall at best. just my guess.
Chris i am a tmo store manager and we have not been told anything for the 7+ or the 10.1 or even the springboard or gslate for that matter. They keep us in the dark till the day of launch its kinda sad TBH.
I understand that, That would make me want to snoop around in computer system, and Mail ,etc...
just dont get caught huh? :]

Where are the Roms

I don't want to sound inpatient but where are the roms for the att varient, there's a rom for the sprint and verizon.
im really surprised too. i would have thought AT&T would have been the first phone they worked on. im so desperate for a new rom, ill take anything. even a debloated stock rom. im really hoping for a speedy release of cyanogenmod.
Thanks for your hard work devs on cracking that bootloader!
I check quite frequently praying to see some activity. It's very rare to see sprint or verizon beat us to the punch, even though reading through the thread it seemed like the rom was buggy, but still, they got to flash!!

Talking I need to know if has a ROM for my device At&t D85010d
The At&t roms is difficult to find, and i have this phone and i lived out of the us , and is very disgusting SEE this logo of at&t every day and i have issues with the LTE in my country, despite is the same band of AT&T y need to know if a new rom can resolve my problems of Conectivity and LTE in my device, the At&t rom blocked the menu in the phone for a changue BANDS: GSM - EDGE - LTE and i cant changue or SETTING a band, I need to know if is probably to find a rom like the rom of 855 or better version and forger forever the STOCK room At&t pleas HELP
You know you guys can use an app called 3c ( formally Android Tuner ) and you can DeOdex your stock ROM , Trim Partitions, ZipAlign + all sorts of other very useful stuff. You can completely debloat your phone as well.
In the mean time that's what I would just do, although I greatly appreciate a Dev bringing a stock debloated DeOdexed ROM to the table, you can pretty much just do all that yourself and you'll learn a thing or two on the way!
Check out 3c. It has so many options for tweaking.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908942
People are working on roms they are not a quick release. Non stock roms will come it just takes awhile. You have to build a proper device tree then troubleshoot to get the bugs worked out. Once the device tree and bugs are worked out most roms will just have to be compiled from source. It will happen but I think it will be a month or two. As for modified stock that takes time too especially if you want to add modification without the use of xposed you have to decompile apk's and modify them using smali and that takes time.
more than willing to wait for a very nice L rom

The major thing I think people are forgetting is that their might be a few and/or a lot of kernel/roms ready to release already...we are waiting on The bump website to be released so that we can bump the New roms and kernels. I know that I have a built kernel waiting on that very thing and it's flash city!!! When the bump site drops I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see a few flashables drop within hours of that release. It will come I promise you that and when it does people will be fussing about ETAs on Lollipop builds. If you have been on XDA long enough you realize it's the nature of the beast...the endless cycle of why we have forums rules yet a lot of people do not abide by them nor read them. Peace out

ROM question and other needed help plz

Sorry in advance for the details but....In 2 days I'll have my note5 and I wanna know what the best ROM is for either lollipop or MM. Ive had an s6 on a ROM called sick as hell and I loved it....is there a ROM like that or similar? Also, I use a fraction of the features that the average root user uses. I also remove 3/4 of the system apps that eat ram and data an so on, do it to all my phones and ROMs, even on cm and aokp etc.
My second question is, what's a good sound boost script/ audio FX mod? I presently use maxx audio and love it. As for the volume boost mod I use the scripts for the opo. I'm deaf so I need one haha.
Final question I have is....camera app lol. I use a camera app called colorOS. Its a port from the Chinese opo and I love it. The stock camera on all Sammys are fantastic and I take scenic photos somewhat professionally so camera is everything to me aside from battary life. Whats a good camera app eith bomb digity filters? Again sorry for the very long detailed questions.
Final question is kernel and battery life....what's a good kernel for LP or MM that is battery optimized.
I'm using Tekxodus 7.5e

I have an SM N9208 Duos which is an international twin SIM version and I was worried about Samsung's UI after moving from Windows Phone, which I still think has the best OS. but I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised.
If I was you I would leave as stock for a couple of weeks and see how you get on .it may surprise you. Then if it doesn't meet your needs then flash it.
If this phone was running Windows Mobile with Android apps it would be just about perfect.
Enjoy your new phone, or you could wait until August for the NOTE 6!
