I got the black 16gb nexus 5 exactly one week before this posting. I have used it for one week without any problems . however I want to get the 32gb model I read on Google return page that if you're not satisfied with the device you can return it in 15 days.I now want to know whether I will get full device cost minus shipping since I have used it for one week. If any one has returned their device share our experience and also any reason I can give so that they will accept return. I am from India purchased the phone from play store India.please don't hesitate to share ur experience if you bought it in a different country. Thanks in advance.
A quick live chat from Google would most likely get you your answer

Will Google accept return. Any ideas there is no live chat for return sadly have register for a call back. Should I ask for exchange or refund. Thanks in advance

It might be less complicated to request to return the phone for a refund and then place an order for a new 32GB phone in a separate encounter with Google.

So Google will accept return even after I have used the device and it has no problem within 15 days.

As posted above, talking to Google directly will probably give you the best answer. I know that every time I've contacted google support they were very easy to work with. As long as you don't tell them you want a refund to get an iPhone 5S then you are less likely to have problems lol
I did a chat session last night (around 9PM eastern time) to arrange for a return of my 32 gb N5 (like the phone, but network connectivity issues are driving me nuts). I've had it a week so I'm still within the return window. It took about 15 minutes and last night around 10:30 I got the email with the return label and RMA form.
When starting the chat window click on 'Changing Order' - eventually you'll see an option to chat about returns.

I didn't ask, but I expect to get $422 back (phone plus 7% tax, - cost to ship back). I don't plan on getting my original shipping amount back. I guess I'll know for sure in about 2 weeks

Nice keep posted, I gather there is no restocking or other fee good to know that you get 100% phone amount, bye the way the shipping was free and there was no tax levied the bill mentioned 0% vat and other tax. So does that mean I will get full money back?

I shipped out my second replacement yesterday for exchange. I got this e-mail today:
Your order is currently backordered. You will receive another notification when your order is in stock and shipped.
It looks like either 1. They took my individual concerns seriously and are specifically getting one directly from LG for me, or...2. They finally sent back all their units and are receiving a new batch ---hopefully without defects this time.
Will be interesting to hear how your new one is. I had 2 for a time but their build date was only 4 days apart so probably same batch. Both had reboots although I really feel it's still software and not hardware. None of the reviewers who reviewed this phone including cnet and Engadget noted any reboots and they know what they're doing but probably don't load a ton of apps on the review units.
Sold out everywhere. They didn't think they would because of the same launch date as sidekick

Just wondering, what kind of problem you had with your last g2x? The bleeding screen issues?
theres still a few left here in slc, utah. in fact im the only one who has returned my g2x to that particular store at all lol 5 times! seems like other stores havent been able to sell many due to the fact all their reserves are going to returns.

When you are getting these replacements, is it just the phone body that they send you? Or are you getting the whole retail packaging?

my email say's 20 days. maybe that's for retail price only? i still have a few days left. but, i had the black status bar and saw no bleeding. mine was minimal to begin with. if it gets worse though, i'll warranty exchange it later.
Would be nice if a new batch is coming soon. My tmo rep swears a second batch of phones will take 2 months minimum but we know how reliable info from them is.
You guys know that the 14 days is only for being able to return it and cancel your contract, right? They phone itself has like a 1 year warranty on it.
I keep seeing so many people talking about swapping the phone out for another before their 14 days is up and it confuses me as to why the 14 days really matters just for getting a warranty exchange.

Probably a lot of folks are hoping to get the phones exchanged within 14 days without paying shipping to tmobile (warranty exchange) plus the phones you get from tmobile are usually refurbished unlike store phones which are brand new.

This is how it works:
If you pay $199 w/ contract then you have 14 days to return the phone for a refund less plan minutes used and restocking fee. You can exchange the phone and keep the plan but you will have to pay the difference in price or recieve a refund for the difference.
If you paid retail w/o contract or with flexpay then you have 30 days to return the phone less restocking fee, or exchange for another phone with the same difference policies.
The warranty from LG is 1 year regardless of where you got the phone from, how much you paid, and the $5.99 (soon to be $7.99 once they include a personalized version of Lookout Mobile and free express shipping) Premium Handset Protection Bundle. During this time period you can call into customer care and get an exchange of the same phone less the battery door, battery, and all accessories that came with the phone. After 3 warranty exchanges within 90 days you are eligible for an equivilent exchange. Meaning T-Mo will provide you with a list of phones that you can choose to exchange your handset with. They are supposed to be comparable to the features you have now, but rarely are. When warranty exchanging you may have to pay shipping costs, but in most cases if you raise enough hell about how it's not your fault that the phone isn't working properly they will waive that fee.
I hope this clears up some of the confusion. For the next year every G2x sold is under warranty, and LG must replace it for free...
UNLESS YOU RETURN THE PHONE WITH COSMETIC DAMAGE, WATER DAMAGE, CUSTOM ROMS OR KERNELS, THE WARRANTY SEAL IS BROKEN, ECT... BEFORE YOU WARRANTY EXCHANGE, RETURN THE PHONE TO STOCK! WIPE EVERYTHING! OR ELSE YOU WILL BE CHARGED $130 FOR OUT OF WARRANTY REPLACEMENT!
Say Thank You.
Hello skyrockters ,
So my skyrocket , purchased on 4th of May 2012 (2.3.6 UCLA3 from the box, unrooted and all stock) , is heating from time to time while using it ... I had a skyrocket before the current one and it never felt heating like this one ...... It's not heating SO MUCH but non the less I can feel it when using the phone 1-2 min + like when calling or browsing the internet ....
Today I opened the back cover and when I took the SIM card the golden area out it is not uniformly gold as it should , instead a small roundish burn mark on the edge of it (darker than the rest of the SIM) ...
Now the problem I am past the first month of owning the phone , and I think if I would go again to the att store they will start BSing me about contacting Samsung for a solution (being more than a month now for a replacement or refund)...
And by the way , calling quality is not so clear I'm noticing compairing this device to the old skyrocket I had !!! maybe the UCLA3 vs UCKJ2 ???
Have anybody had this issue ? and what to do in your opinion ?
Your help is much aprecaited
Thanks

So should I expect the att store to do something about it ? like replacement (more than 1 month on purchase so out of customer satisfaction) ? or should I contact Samsung ???
All of the skyrockets if bought from att, have a year warranty. Meaning if you have a device support center within a few hours of you, I'd skip the store and take it to them to get a new one. If not, go to the store and they'll help you through the process of calling the warranty people. It'll take about 6 business days for the replacement to get to you.
My phone bricked about a month ago and I drove an hour to a support center. I was in and out in 15 minutes since my phone was completely bricked. They just ended up giving me a new one.

Thanks again , the issue is that I am on straighttalk and the burned SIM is ST SIM ... Would that make a difference ? and the other point is that the issue is intermittent , and the call quality issue is somehow subjective and liable to intentionally "subsidized" by a rep .... you know what I mean when they feel they will loose another device to a customer ...
contract or not, as long as you bought the phone from an AT&T store, you should be under warranty.
considering an article that was on engadget a while back about a skyrocket catching fire in a persons pocket im pretty sure you can get it replaced. Considering that article got a official statement from Samsung about them going to investigate.
it isnt from engadget but its the same thing

In my experience, I too am based in the UK, I went for standard delivery and it took around 7 days. If you chose express, I expect yours will be around 5 days.
Usually you'll get the email with your tracking number and the day after your item will be delivered.
Good luck. It's an amazing phone!

On the UK forums on OP forums. A lot of people had problems with express taking way to long compared to standard. Express can take sometimes up to two weeks as dhl will not deliver without OP telling them they need to. Just ask EddyOS. Standard does seem the way to go. But hopefully you get it quicker then most everyone else who did express. But myself I did standard ordered it Thursday 28-08 received Sat 30-08!!

I actually sold my first one as I had issues with Sky Go not working (not on their white list and it detects the rooted nature of CM11S) and the low in-call volume but I've ordered another one this morning so hopefully gonna have better luck with it on 4.4.4 (as I sold it on 4.4.2). I've got my Nexus 5 for backup for now...

Hmm OK. I do feel like I've started to get problems using 33r. Recent apps don't seem to be closing or opening properly. Which I always had happened to me using cm11. Call volume is abit on and off sometimes yeah. Sky go problem is a pain but I've rooted anyways. I have problems sometimes with audio playback sometimes the music just cuts out it still counts down the seconds of the audio file but no output have to pause and press play again which pees me off. All in all it is an abit of an annoying phone. Plus the never settle motto annoys me. But just going to stay with the phone now though. Need to sell my HTC one max though to make money back.
my brother got his within the week3
I am so pissed. Long story short. I ordered the s6 through Verizon, got the phone and it was great until the 10th day. I started having issues. So I told them and they said they'd send me out another. I told then I absolutely do not want a refurbished phone and they guaranteed me it would be a brand new one. Wtf do i get the next day? A refurbished piece of crap that had scratches all over when 3 different reps assured me they'd be sending me a new one. I called them back pissed.
So after hours of talking on the phone I get them to send me a brand new one that would come in the white box. They told me it would arrive on may 29th(which was 10 days away) because they were all on backorder waiting for the shipment from Samsung. So I've literally been calling every few days asking them what the update is and every time a diff rep just tells me that the order is placed and everything but it's still on backorder. This has happened 3+ times now.
It's been 3 weeks now and I just called again and told them this is it I've had enough and the guy tells me for some reason the order never processed because of some terms and conditions crap so he said he has to figure it out with his supervisor. I can't believe this seriously. Are the people at Verizon the dumbest individuals in the world or am I being toyed with here?

I haven't been impressed with Verizon customer service, either. The first phone I got was never activated, and when I called to get it activated, the rep just redid my order and sent me another phone lol. I had to reject the 2nd phone, and I finally spoke to someone that knew what they were talking about.
It seems as though 1 out of every 3 reps know their stuff, the rest have no clue.
I'm still waiting for my $100 port in credit, and I know it won't be on my 3rd billing cycle, so I'll have to call them again :/
Never even talked to a rep. did everything online. Ordered phone on Friday, arrived Sat, activated without doing much other than turning the phone on (SIM card was already installed). I didn't port my number until I checked out the phone and ported the number on Monday morning, took about 20 min and about 1/2 hour after that to get the SMS texting working right.
No communication with a rep at anytime.
Sat night when I realized I already had the latest build (was waiting for an OTA), I rooted the device with PingPongroot. Had to do it twice but it stuck and was very easy. never connected the phone to the computer (yet).

This is literally the only way to do it. Companies like VZ and Comcast intentionally provide sucky service so that you just give up because who wants to spend hours on the phone explaining your problem to people who are intentionally making it harder for you?
Well, they said they said they wouldn't send me out another new device. She said it would have to be a refurbished one this time so now I have to choose between one of these s6's or sell one of them and wait for something better to come along.

It looks like they delayed you just to be outside of the 14 day window. Anything outside that 14 day return policy can be replaced with a certified like new device. Is the home button that bad that you couldn't see living with it? Would a stiff home button eventually became loose also?

Hey guys, just thought I'd let everyone know how much time you actually have to return your Moto X Pure, as nobody in the Q&A threads seemed to realize that you can return your phone up to a month and a half after your device was first delivered for a full refund.
Yes, the time limit to request an RMA is only 14 days. As soon as you have that RMA in your possession, though, the time limit to return your device is immediately extended a month, as that is when the RMA expires. So, if you are still on the fence about returning your Moto X Pure (as I am, leering at that Nexus 6P), it does no harm to request an RMA on the 14th day from when you got your device so you have an extra month to decide whether to return it.
I hope this helps out a lot of you who are indecisive like me.
You can request an RMA by calling Motorola customer service, or better yet, online through this link:

Yes, even though the Moto X "Style" is technically a different device, this should work for any phone that has been sold through the Motorola website.
California residents, you guys are lucky and don't have to send your device back until December. 1 month to request RMA + 1 month until RMA expiration = a whopping 2 months.
Why is it we Californians get 30 days is it a purchase state wide mandated law? Because tmobile was giving me gripes about the 21 day policy I was a day late and they still let me return that stand in Galaxy edge plus. I had to plea with customer service on the 22nd day but it's suppose to be 30 days for any purchase coming in to cali?

The 30 day return policy in California is specific for Motorola purchases.
You would have to review the return policies for Samsung to learn how much time you have to return a Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
Good to hear Josh. :good:
I kinda wish this was not made well known... Now that Motorola realizes this, they may close this loop hole by requiring us to return the device within a few business days. It's not for no reason that the return label they provide us is an Overnight one.

They'll keep the return windoe. 30-day rma is pretty typical.
They overnight a label to provide good customer service. It would cost them a lot of time, money, and customer satisfaction if they were to change their policy and workflow around this. They wouldn't incur those costs just to try and reduce abuse of their return policy. Especially since a 14-day return window can be just as easily abused as a 45-day return window.

So on day 29, submit for an RMA and have 30 additional days to return the phone? 2 months trying out the phone, and giving time to decide whether to go with the Nexus 6P, is pretty nice.

For most, the initial return period is just 14 days, unless you live in a state that mandates 30 days. So depending where you live, submit for RMA on day 14 or day 30.

I just got a reply from Motorola saying that my RMA is solved since they haven't gotten my phone. Did the RMA process on the 30th. So I don't know, but I'm thinking this means I won't be able to return it now. Was going to wait it out a bit, possibly for the nexus 6p. I guess I'm saying I'm not so sure you really get the 30 days for the RMA.

So on the last day of my 14 day window, I can request an RMA, and just sit on it for a month while I decide? And if, in the end, I decide to just keep the Moto X, then having that wasted RMA won't matter and Motorola won't ask questions?
Not according to the guy above you... I wouldn't be going on rumors here for a device you think you don't want. Its not worth $400+, because after that 14 days you're going to lose at least $50 on swappa for being used... Just sayin'... Not very logical in my opinion. Its like a relationship, if you have doubts this early, you're probably not going to want the phone at all in a month or two... You can always repurchase it, can't always return it after the window...

I called Motorola trying to figure out just this. From the time the RMA is issued you have 10 days to send the device back. I'm thinking that might be enough time for me to have the Nexus 6P so I can compare them side by side. :fingers-crossed:

Hmmmm
I did the RMA deal as well on the last day.. 3/hrs before midnight.. haha.. anyways.. I got the usual, we will process your RMA within 4/hrs during normal.. blah-blah-blah.. besides that email, nothing from Moto after, just an email from FedEx with a link to an RMA shipping label saying I have until 2 weeks into Nov. to print the label... I haven't printed up the label yet...
I picked up a Note 4(on AT&T upgrade, been sitting on my Note 2 since it came out) for $0, unfortunately one reason I got the Moto X was that Note 4 on AT&T is locked down, but couldn't pass up a Note 4 for $0:silly:... so, now playing with both phones... I do miss using the S-Pen.. and the finger print reader/scanner, missed that since my Atrix 4G days, plus some other stuff I was used too on the Note series... right now trying to see if I can stand not modding or theme my phone.... unlike with my Note 2, flashing ROMs, apktool, etc..
Got a Note 4 for nothing? Sign me up, sheesh. Anyway, so far I like this phone but am still considering doing this just in case. Gives at least what, 24 days timeframe to figure it out instead of 14? The one thing that is really annoying me so far is the lack of quality cases. Had to buy a Moko cheapy from Amazon to make do. Hopefully soon they'll be more quality choices available.

Lol. There's no such thing as a free lunch. He probably got it under the condition of a 2-year contract. Which is worth about $400 in most cases.
I never understood why people who are out of contract don't immediately re-lock a contract. They're just leaving money on the table. Even if you're perfectly happy with your current device, re-lock a contract and buy whatever the newest iPhone is; and then sell it immediately as new. Something like a new iPhone retains its near-retail value
