Okay, I dont know if it's necessary to create a new thread for this question, but as i examined, this forum hasn't been getting active replies from members lately (also developers rarely answer questions on the general thread, and for us newbies we cant ask directly on the developers thread)
Okay so here's the thing, I've decided to upgrade my GT-p6200 honeycomb version to jellybean using the "stock austria firmware" posted somewhere in the development section and after flashing it with Odin, the tablet works like charm and is now on "jellybean".
until the battery got drained the next day and when i charged it and power it up, it got stuck on the "samsung galaxy tab plus 7.0" text logo, and when i turn it off it just "boot loops". at this moment I knew my deviced is bricked.
from reading and lurking around threads here, I've found out that wiping factory data/wiping cache partitions/and that wiping dalvik sort of thing would somehow bring this back to life, so i tried it, flashed CWM through Odin, restart to recovery did all the suggestions but still none of those work.
so another option is to install a custom rom through CWM, and based from reading, there is a lot of postive remarks about the aroma rom exclusive v1.7, so decided to install it by copying it to SD card and installing via CWM recovery, and it got me to the page with text saying "installing package" with android robot on the background, then suddenly a "fire jolly roger" of some sort(perharps the developers logo) appears and now I'm taken to this choices saying that the rom would be installed, I go through the choices like "no wipe or full wipe" the "install samsung exclusive" then I get to choose if i should use "default installation" or "remove bloatware" and then I get to choose some applications to install, after all that i was transferred to another page where it reads "installing" with an empty bar below it(you know that common bar gauge you see during almost any installation), okay so as soon as it gets to that "installing" mode the tablet restarts and stuck on that "samsung text logo" again, like installing something on it makes it restart, it's like the tablet is NOT allowing me to install..
I'm running out of options and I don't want this beloved tablet go to waste or be used as paperweight, if somebody could just let me know of any other fix or ideas for this would be very much appreciated.. thanks in advance..:fingers-crossed:
Okay since im not getting any replies here and I'm not getting anywhere, I almost gave up on this tablet.. I restart the tablet ain CWM recovery and decided to tinker with every settings in there, coz I don't give a "F" anymore if I hardbrick it since its pretty much useless anyways, I ran through all the commands there possible, until it literally(or what i assume) deleted every file deletable on the hard drive of the tablet and the SD card, after that I still got the "samsung galaxy logo text" I decided to flash it with the "austria jellybean stock rom" one last time with odin and hey, what do you know? after the process, the tablet restarted and voila it's now working with the setup you get from the first time you bought a tablet!
YEEES! consider this solved, and to those having problems like mine, you can refer to this and I hope it helps you in a way!

Hello,
to all of you.
I need urgent help, actually, some days ago, my Galaxy tab 7.7 has stuck in a bootloop, the respected user UpInTheAir has helped me a lot by providing a needy guidance to me, actually, I didnt want to factory reset the tab because the data stored on the tab was very important, you can read more about this case here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2530591, I tried very very hard to load custom recovery to the tab, so that I can take backup of the data, but all was vain, I even downloaded the official firmware and tried to flash the tab through desktop odin, and got successful messages of pass etc.but when the tab restarts they show the same symptom of bootlooping and all my data is still available on the tab, although I can start my tab in the safe mode, but that is also for 5 to 7 minutes after that it restarts automatically, during this time I can also connect my tab to computer and it shows there, so today I decided to reset the tab to get rid of this problem, I boot into the stock recovery and there choose the option wipe data/factory reset, it was successfully implemented but when I reboot my tab, it shows the same symptom of bootlooping as well as all my data is still present, same starting, same password, then I restart my tab in safe mode and choose the factory reset option from there, it restarts my tab into the stock recovery, there I again choose the option of wipe data/factory reset, but same happens, I dont know what happened to my tab, I think this is some kind of bug, because everything goes well just after restart the tab, everything comes out same as nothing happens. Please respected members, respected developers help me, I really need this.Suggest some way to me, so that I can get out of this problem.Hope to see reply soon.Thank You.

Hello,
to all of you.
I posted this thread in the hope to getting some help from some respected member, but after so many views, I think no one is willing to help, anyways, it seems the experienced developers and most respected members are busy in making their custom roms better, anyways, I hope some "NOOB" from some part of the world will help to solve my problem and able me so that I can install the custom rom from some "Experienced Developer".Thank You.

I don't think u can do anything about ur data. Too bad u'll be losing it.
Android 4.1.2 has already come out for our tablet. U can download either the Singapore, Malaysian or Indonesian version.
Flash the latest firmware via Odin.
Then go to stock recovery and clear cache and clear all data.
That'll give u a clean install. At least ur tablet will no longer bootloop. That's the only way that I can think of.
After that u can flash either a cwm or twrp recovery.
Remember to always keep a n android backup somewhere...
Buy a valid copy of titanium back up.
By the way, if u still have a cwm recovery installed, go to advanced and try clearing dalvik cache too.

First thing's first, I'm new to this forum and I'm not quite sure if I'm posting in the right place, I apologize in advance.
The story is: I bought PF2 ~1.5 years ago with Android 4.1.1. I was satisfied with it, but I wanted to remove the damn bloatware, so after a while, I started researching rooting and after numerous failed attempts, I found Framaroot and salvation. It rooted it and removed bloatware. But then, after months of flawless performance I started having hardware problems: constant vibrating followed by rebooting loop. Sent it for repairs, and I knew the phone was rooted (SU apps, custom keyboard and custom font, but figured if I can't turn it on, neither will they heh!). They asked nothing, I said nothing, warranty accepted, they said they changed the MOBO and had to install new battery, I asked them not to install new Android they said that that's important and they surely will not. They returned me the phone with new Android (4.4.2). Normally, I'd send the device right back, but seeing how the phone was in repairs for ~50 days (poor bureaucracy + waiting for transport + pathetic country + not in the capital = long waiting time. If I had sent it to Moon, it would be back sooner. ) I thanked them and took the phone home.
Now I have Android 4.4.2 and don't like it.
When I boot into recovery (Vol down), I select to enter recovery and it says:
Android system recovery <3e>
KOT49H.WW_PadFone-11.8.4.12-20140804 te
Volume up/down to move highlight;
enter button to select
reboot system now
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
touch calibration
I've downloaded the unlock tool from Asus website, ran it and it rebooted my phone. I don't know if it had done anything. I followed this [it doesn't allow me to insert link], but it's a guide from The Unlockr on how to root Asus Padfone 2.
It was supposed to be simple, but this method erased all my stuff (It's alright, got it backed up) and gave me a factory reset of what I already have (4.4.2). It DID install SuperSU, but when I run it, it asks "The SU binary needs to be updated. Continue?", and upon clicking continue, I immediately get "Installation failed !" I downloaded Root Checker from Play Store and it told me that "Root access is not properly installed on this device".
I also downloaded stock ROMs for Padfone 2 from Asus website and tried to install, but to no avail.
Please help me, I want to return my phone to Android 4.1.1, but all guides are for versions older than 11.8.4.12.
Also, is it possible to install custom ROM on Padfone 2?
Hi there,
I think in the thread bellow you will receive more relevant answer from the owners/experts:
ASUS Padfone 2

Good luck
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
I have the shield tablet LTE version and after connecting to WIFI it immediately installed all OTAs upto the hotfix also. So here I am sitting with lollipop in my tablet and I decide to go for rooting and CWM installation.. After rooting using adb/fastboot and installing CWM image, I decide to disable ATTall access because I read that it stops the portable hotspot from working. So, did that and then process after process started crashing. First it started with background data not being enabled (playstore wouldn't open) , NVidia hub crashing, google text to speech crashing, etc.
So, I went to cwm and did factory reset. At the initial stages itself where it asks for language setup, the google text to speexh crashes and I cannot click next or proceed forward.
I flash the Lollipop OTA once again thinking it would overwrite the system but it didn't.. and the same issue keeps happening..
Now what do I do?
Regards
Alden
An update to the mess i was in...
I tried recovery mode at the fastloader boot menu and I got the robot lying down with a red exclamation mark sign. I pressed vol + key and it opened the original recovery I think. I wiped user data from this menu and rebooted. and now it has come to the original screen setup and so far no process crashes...
What could have caused this entire mess?
I am not sure what would cause your issues but i believe your best bet is to download the full rom image for your tablet and flash it via fastboot. That should get you back up and running. (Be warned doing this will erase everything on your tablet!! SD card will be untouched)
By fullmrom u mean the one from the nvidia developer website right?
Yes that is the one! I am currently at work so I cant post a link to it but if you need it ill try to post it once im off, in about 30-ish minutes. Good luck! (p.s. last resort is RMA)
Is your shield up and running once again? Just wanted to get an update. =]
Thanks javydawg, I didnt use the one on nvidias developer website as i simply did not have enough data left in my Internet plan .. its 2.3 gb in size... after recoVery i was left with lollipop so i flashed a 750 mb file tht i gt from these forums and updated it to the latest version.. i still haven't pinpointed the reason for my earlier trouble but will shout out if it happens again... have to be careful cos not sure if RMA is possible for me in India...
Hi All.
So I'm not new to rooting / ROMs (nor am I an expert, as you'll see), but somehow have totally screwed up my tab. I've now honestly done so many things to try to recover, that I couldn't begin to summarize how I got into this mess, but I'll try.
Model is GT-P5113. Most recent working ROM was SlimLP 5.1
I went to flash CM12.1 (using CWM) and God only knows what happened. After it flashed, I tried to reboot and it would only go to CWM recovery. If I chose to reboot device, it would only shutdown, not reboot (This was actually one of the issues I was having with SlimLP as well, so I don't think the flashing had anything to do with that???)
After many attempts at reinstalling CM and SlimLP (I used the same Zip that had worked previously with SlimLP, and the flashing would say installed) it would still only boot to recovery. I finally said, screw it, I'll just start completely over
So attempted to go back to stock 4.2.2 using Odin3.09. Got the stock ROM off SamMobile site. ODIN seemed to flash, but again when it would go to reboot, it would just power down and a charging battery would show up. So I would unplug from the computer, push power button. When it powered up, it would say Installing system update, then after the status bar moved a bit, it would say Error and shut down. When I restart, it very briefly says installing system update, then show the dead android with a red triangle and No Command, and it would boot to the stock android system recovery (I assume CWM was taken off in the process). In yellow, under the stock recovery it says
# MANUAL MODE #
-- Appling Multi-CSC...
Applied the CSC-code : XAR
Successfully applied multi-CSC.
I've tried installing the other ROMs again, this time with TWRP, but only for it to boot to recovery after the Samsung Tab 10. 1 logo.
I have no clue where to go from here. No clue if I'm still rooted (doubt it). At this point I don't care. I just want a functioning tab. I've spent hours searching, but nothing works. I'm open to any / all ideas.
Thanks
Aw, show me a little love, bros. Someone' gotta know something. I'm not above begging / pleading.
I can give more info, less info, post somewere else. Just let me know, and help me resuscitate my tab.
thanks again!
Hello everyone,
Welcome to a series of unfortunate noob events;
All I wanted was to set my default storage to SD, since my Samsung Note 8 GT-N5120 only had 16 gb of internal memory.
I am aware that with my device, I can move apps to SD, but only a part of it gets moved, a huge chunk still stays in the internal memory (i.e 60 mb of an app goes to sd and 100mb of an app stays in memory).
So I searched online and all signs lead to rooting, in order to tweak my device to its fullest ;therefore, making the feature I want available at my disposal. And so I did, I followed tutorials correctly, from usb debugging mode to using odin. SuperSU was there and I downloaded Root Checker just to verify.
My device was working perfectly, but during bootup instead of a screen that shows the android with a pirate patch, it shows a static white screen before going into the samsung logo screen. I've searched through the forums and found out that other GT-N5120 owners had the same problem as well. It was no big deal and I didn't mind.
After that I searched online on things to do after rooting my device. It says install a CWM for better recovery options than what the stock recovery offers, so I did I used this tutorial: droidviews.com/root-and-install-cwm-on-samsung-galaxy-note-8-0-gt-n5100-gt-n5110-gt-n5120-all-models/
Everything was fine and I thought I was getting the hang of this thing, so I moved on to the next step and downloaded ROM Manager, to use a Custom ROM, I used this tutorial: androidtipsz.com/how-to-install-a-custom-rom-on-your-android-phone-using-rom-manager
This part got hazy,
ROM Manager asked me what version of CWM I am using and the options were: 2.0 or 5.x+, I picked the latter
and I was all set,I just needed a Custom ROM to use I picked Paranoid Android. Went to their site downloaded the .zip file that corresponds to my device and used ROM Manager to flash Paranoid Android, but it got to a screen that says my .zip file is for GT-N5120 your device is GT-N5110, which was weird because anywhere I checked on the device (including ROM manager, except when it gets to the said screen) says my device is GT-N5120.
This where the unorthodox noob of myself comes in:
Without hesitation I downloaded the Paranoid Android .zip for GT-N5110 and flashed it with ROM Manager. It worked, the tab still boots and Paranoid Android is running, but the tab got laggy and Google Store stopped running and Email stopped running and because of that, no games would work. SuperSU and ROM Manger didn't open too, I forgot the message tho. Keep in mind I did all this WITHOUT BACKING UP MY FILES igotrektnub :crying:
I looked everywhere for a solution to revert without deleting all my files, Ive decided to download the Stock Rom for GT-N5120, the only problem was there were GT-N5120 Stock Roms from different regions, I think that my tablet was from the Sweden Region so I went ahead and downloaded that.
Question#1
Should the Stock Rom I use be region specific? If so how would I check which region my device came from?
So I went to Odin Mode again and flashed this MD5 file:N5120XXDNE4_N5120AUTDNF1_N5120XXDNE4_HOME.tar
it was ok but it got stuck on system.img for a good 2 hours or so? So I did the unthinkable, turn off the device...
After that every time I turn on my device it just boots to the white static screen and never gets past it, I can still go to download mode and recovery mode, but thats about it. I think my recovery mode went back to stock. I tried flashing the root files CF_Auto but it didnt do anything, the same for the CWM, I went into recovery mode factory reset and data wipe and cache wipe, but it still wont get pass the static white screen.
Please help, Ive read somewhere that as long as it still boots download mode, it can still be fixed. :fingers-crossed:
Sincerely,
