Flash Boeffla kernel + Boeffla config app or Noozxoide Audio.
You'll need to root your device to use either one of them

I've also found Viper4Android to work quite well, but, again, you need root to install it.

Viper4Android worked for me

DSP Manger for HTC?

Anybody know of a good DSP manager that works with the Sensation?
Cyanogen nightly, save us now.

Rom crystal pyramid includes a DSP manager in the build. I'm now running a stock deodexed rom and after extracting the DSP apk from crystal pyramid, copying it to system/ app and setting permissions it seems to be working. I haven't had time to really test it out yet though.
Enjoy it flashable via recovery.
Thank you!work perfectly!that was exactly what I was looking for!

Thanks, but it doesn't 1. Improve the sound, and 2 doesn't give control of amp to get smaller volume increments, both lower and higher. I like to lower the amp in voodoo at night to get low level audio and decrease hiss.

Using player pro
And downloaded the dsp codec for player pro
Connecting to my car radio with bluetooth
And the sound is amazing!!
Great bass
Sharp hi sounds
Hearing more sounds than b4
Just download Root Toolbox and there's an option to install it from there. Works fine.

Did this, when I try to start the phone it won't go past white/green HTC splash. Anything I can do other than wipe/flash everything? Installed a new ROM today and was just gonna flash this and then do a backup. Darnit.
I think you are flashing new base rom, so the problem is with the old libs. You have just two choices - flash your rom ontop or replace the two lib files libaudio.so and libaudioflinger.so from your original rom into the DSP manager zip and flash it via recovery.

DSP-manager-like for TF?

Hi, I just installed custom rom for my HTC Hero which included DSP Manager, and the sound becomes brilliant. So my question is, are there any apps which will do as good as dsp manager for our tf ?

Viper4android Sound Equalizer

Well I was tired of the moto useless equalizer with no real customization.
So I just downloaded Viper4android on my moto running KitKat 4.4.
It works fantastic actually better than it did on 4.2
Here's the link

New to the Moto X. Does this mean that viper doesn't work unless you've unlocked bootloader and rooted with TWRP?
Thanks in advance.

not sure what the reason is, but after I installed viper4android, my "audio effect" app would crash whenever I open it. I forgot to turn off "audio effect" before I install viper4android, and now I cant even open up "audio effect". Does freezing the audio effect app turn it off?>

I can't stop it since everytime I run it, it says android system fcs for some reason. So I just froze it. I hope that also stops it as well.
So, I have been using this and love it. However, I have noticed that if I have music playing through Spotify or some other application, the MotoAssist feature will not read out my text messages. If I turn off Viper4Android and don't have Spotify going while driving, the program reads off my texts without any problems. Can anyone here verify this?
I love Viper but I wish the Moto X sounded like my nexus 7 that I have dash mounted. There are more tweaks in Viper on the Nexus. Sounds good on the X but doesn't come close to the Nexus.

Please explain how there are more tweaks in viper 4 android on your nexus device. The V4A app is a single app there is not a special one made for a nexus unless you choose different ui settings within the V4A app all tweaks are the same no matter what device you use it on so please enlighten me. Very miss leading comment you have made.

I will post some screen shots. When I installed the Viper driver on the nexus it asked which chipset I had. I chose the correct one and it gave me about 3 times as many tweak in the settings.

I know I'm on the current on my Note II, Nexus 7 2013, and moto x but I'm not sure about my car Nexus 7. I'm going to guess not but still the sound is better with those additional settings.
Edit: Note 2 I'm on 2.3.1.1

The installation no longer asks what kind of chipset you have. It now only asks the quality type you would like (Extreme, super, or high). I'm really hoping here that someone can speak to audio being muted through Moto Assist when using V4A. Anyone?

In your other post, you mentioned turning off V4A and Spotify fixed your problem...any chance the problem is caused by Spotify and not V4A?
I can't offer any insight to the problem since I'm not rooted yet, but I miss V4A from my Galaxy Nexus days and it's the main reason I want to root...however, if it really is V4A that's causing Moto Assist issues, I might think twice.
Thanks.
Anyone can confirm if Moto Assist reading of texts works with this or not, or if that experience up the thread was more a problem with Spotify?

You have to uninstall walkman app because v4a and walkman are conflicting. So you can only use one.

I did that
I uninstalled walkman n com.android.sony........(related with walkman) through titanium backup
But still that problem is there I'm not able to install viper4android audio driver...

Any other suggestion

Hi. I'm having the same problem (T-Mobile HTC M7 rooted stock 4.4.2)
I installed the sound explosion mod awhile back, but haven't noticed much/any difference, so I'm trying this.
I haven't removed the sound explosion mod, though, because I can't find any info on how to do it.
My m7 keeps wanting to install the drivers as well. Could this be because of the system partition being write protected on the htc ones? I've both installed the apk from the main site, uninstalled flashed the flashable zip from xda that was supposed to address this issue, and still no success.
Any solution or help would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance

Maybe other Sound Enhancements app conflicts with V4A?I'm not sure.. On 4.4 I'm not using Walkman and everything works good.
It's possible, although tbh, I never really noticed a big improvement when I flashed sound explosion, so I don't know if it installed successfully, and there doesn't seem to be any uninstaller or evidence that it's even there in the system at all.
Oh well, in screwing up build.prop and restoring from nandroid, now my balls are all swollen and I feel confident enough to experiment with some custom ROMs that have v4a integrated

Volume boost bluetooth

Is there any app that will do this besides Viper sound mod? I think Viper is to bulky just for this purpose.
