Get back deleted phone photos? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, guys! I think I need you help here! I have accidentally deleted some phone photos that have been taken with my families. I have remembered all of them have been stored on the inner memory card, not phone internal memory card. So, it is possible for me to get back all my deleted pictures? Any idea could be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

If your just trying to recovery deleted files from and SD card? Try:
http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec

You could also try software called Recuva

My ways may help you out:
1). Keep this phone memory card way from any newly taken photos or new files in case of any data loss.
2). Connect this card to your computer with a card Reader.
3). Try to restore your lost memory card photos back with a phone card data recovery program, like 4Card Recovery, Recuva, PhotoRec and more.
4). Save and back up all restored photos on another drive or place in case of data loss.
Note: Never format a phone memory card without data backup again.

Deleted files in My Storage

Is there no way to take it back. I accidentally deleted it off when I connected it in my laptop using Vista Ultimate, so it is not synced. In Computer, I see it as a portable device, and inside there, there are 3 different folders \, My Storage, and Storage Card.
The files are fairly important to me... Anyway I can get it back?
first thing you need to do is NOT touch the storage card at all.. that is.. don't copy ANYTHING new on it.
now... download Active Recovery 7... read your storage card through a reader..
and you can recover the files..
Um, it is not storage card, it is the MY STORAGE from internal memory.

Try connecting your device as a card using some program. I don't remember which one. Maybe someone can enlighten you on a program that does that since I have no clue about any.
install nueMassStorage. declare connecting as a usb key rather than activesync.
it might let you use active recovery..
Thank you guys!
Thank you nir36 for the program!!
Though, I lost like 2 or 3 pictures because it was overwritten somehow? But I got msot of them back! Thank you! And very useful tool too!

Blank MicroSD Card

I used to have to have a 32gb MicroSD card in my Note 3 which i used to use for my files. After I rooted my phone, I thought it would be a good idea to store my TWRP backups to my MicroSD card as it frees up internal storage but however after I initially made my 1st backup to my card, the system booted up and apparently the card was blank. I know this to be false as I have loads of photos on it and I selected the MicroSD card in recovery to make my nandroid backup to and after like 3 minutes, it was made.
Question is. How do I get my MicroSD card back to normal. I'm aware of formatting it and then mounting it in recovery but I don't want to lose my files on the card. I inserted the card into my laptop and the command prompt said it had a RAW file system.

Would I use that after I format my card and which file system should I format it to so TWRP can recognize it

I used Recuva. It's from the people that make CCleaner. Worked for me. But honestly, don't let it restore files that are partially damaged, because if they're music or photos or videos, they won't play/display correctly, and it'll cause wakelocks from the media scanner until you find and delete them.

Don't reformat, just put the microSD card into your computer (with an adapter, or with something that will let it show up as mass storage, not MTP). Point Recuva to the card. It'll tell you what files are partially restorable and fully restorable. Like I said, don't restore the damaged stuff. From experience, what'll happen if you do is you're gonna get wake locks and no app will be able to tell you which files are damaged. So you'll end up having to format the entire card anyways to get rid of the wake lock/damaged files.

I've formatted the MicroSD card as I had a backup of the files on my laptop and everything seems to be working fine.

All pictures from SD card gone..

Hi guys,
Big problem here.. My sister had a problem with her phone, and
she ask me to put custom rom on it. The phone is Samasung Galaxy S3 mini.
So I told her to move here pictures to external hard disk, and she did.
I preinstalled the phone and formated the SD card to be clean.
Few days after this she called me with panic in her voice and said
that some folders that she moved from the SD card to the external drive
are empty. And When she copied the pictures she got no error message.
Just did not checked them for sure, and now very important pics are gone.
Is there any way to recover this pictures guys?
Any ideas will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Don't use the phone! Just plug out the external SD out and put it into a computer. Next download Recuva and use it's deep scan feature to scan for deleted files. This may take a while (up to 5 hours) but it's the best possible solution.
Note that not all files can be restored.

How to backup SD card and phone

Long story short I need to reformat my external card and do a whole factory reset on my S5. A while back someone told me I could copy the contents of my external card over to a folder on my pc then return the files after formatting the card. This did not work. I have backup pro which does its job well. It backs up everything on the phone itself not external card. I want to be able to save all apps, settings and data. When I try to backup to a cloud with backup pro I get an error message. Hope someone responds.

Internal / SD shared memory - can't access files anymore but still there

Hello everyone,
I have a very strange problem that I got yesterday evening. Usually, I can find myself the solution or with the help of search forms or google but this is very strange and I need expert of Android. That's why I am asking it here.
I have a Vernee Thor E (the model of the phone is not needed I think) and I have a shared memory between my internal memory of 16 GB and a micro sd card of 16 GB. Yesterday, some apps didn't launch and I first thought I had to reboot my phone. But when I did that, some appls disppeared from my phone and all photos and videos. So it was like my SD card was not detected anymore.
Now, the SD card is detected again (and also as a shared memory) but I cannot access anymore the old data (about 8 GB). So the sd card is half used and I see that 8GB is used but I cannot access the data. Files are hidden. And as it is a shared memory, a computer cannot read these data.
Is there a way to have access to these files or restore the old link ? With some adb commands or something else ?
Thank you very much for your help.

Thank you very much. So, now I hope that the system didn't delete the key. I will try this this week and of course, I will come back here to explain what I did if it can help other people.

There are other methods here for various states of sdcard/adoptable storage corruption. Try finding one that specifically suits your scenario based on what is or isn't accessible and how the card is or isn't being detected.
The solution might be different or even easier depending on the specific conditions involved.
