[Q] Weird screen problem (probably in hardware) - Samsung Galaxy S II Plus

Hello everyone,
When I was browsing my fb today I stumbled upon this photo of a Galaxy S II plus that has a kind of broken screen. As you can see what it should display is shifted to the left. This guy isn't really a techy and has no idea of custom roms etc. Now I'm wondering is this something in the software? Because I can buy it very cheap from him, and if I only have to install CM I would have a very cheap good working phone
If it's something in the hardware is it solved by replacing the screen? (since this also includes some other things)
I did a bit of research but didn't find someone with the same problem, if you have seen a thread about this before please give me a link
thanks in advance!
Francis
never mind he dropped his phone, so it's a hardware thing

Do you have this too when you turn on your phone, or when you are in Download Mode?

Digitizer replacement on touch pro2

Hi!
I saw few people talking about digitizer replacement on old devices. This discussion about newer devices like Touch Pro2. I have a device which has working LCD but problem seems to be with its touch senstivity. Its not supporting touch on the screen, which as per the original user is a problem of digitizer. He fell the device & got this problem.
May I know if it is a problem of digitizer since everything works completely, all hardware buttons & everything but touch support.
Can you plz help me in this problem, I got the digitizer but dont know how to put it & make the device working.
Any technical help would be highly appreciated.
Sunny
bump, lolz, seems you guyz are also answer less like me.
Anyone tried disassembling such high end device? or has anyone tried replacing digitizer on his or her end?
I wish to help others in case I get a small bit of information about their personal experience.

TP Screen

Hi all,
I just broke my screen the question I have is this, I have an att fuze branded Raph, and since the screen is broken and I am going to replace it I was wondering if anyone knows weather or not I could put a Touch Pro screen on with the front facing cam and the hardware would work. I don't know if there is a missing socket or missing support for the cam in the roms but I thought it might simply be an issue like the radio player was at release where a simple cab would fix. My phone is still usable for now but I plan to fix within a couple days so any knowledge would help me make the decision on which screen to buy.
Thanks for any help

Doing some surgery on a N5

Hi, was wondering if any of you guys have some experience with this.
I have a N5 (D820) that doesn't seem to get reception, seems like it might be a hardware issue since I have tried everything already.
Anyway, my friend dropped his N5 and broke the display and digitalizer. It still gets calls and everything, he just cant use his screen.
So long story short, he is giving me his broken N5 and I was thinking I can maybe swap the motheboard from his phone to mine.
I've been watching some videos on youtube and its looks fairly easy to dissasemble and assemble again, but I had some doubts with the screen.
I know on other phones (HTC One X) that sometimes switching the screen for a different one, if it is not the very same model, it could cause some issues and the new screen won't work.
Do you guys know if this might be the case with the N5 too? I mean, switching the screen from a D820 into a D821?
EDIT: Scratch that, I think its a D820 as well, so I guess it wont be a problem.
Still, if someone did anything similar to this, suggestions are welcome

Hello & welcome to xda-assist,
to my point of view you already answered the question yourself, if there's any doubt you did that replacement right and it isn't working like it should you likely made a mistake, only recommendation is to triple check the procedure you did by comparison to a replacement /tear down video and find the error, also check if you really bought the right hardware...
Following link shows some tutorials & stuff, time to solve some riddle, I'd guess..

Dear friend, thank you for your fast response,
i contact them and i sent them a video and they answered this:
Thank you very much for ordering our product and for kindly bringing the issue to our attention.
For this problem we have confirmed with product department, the screen is not welded and needs to be reworked.
So what i have to do? i told them that i re-asseble the phone many times.. what means that the screen is not welded??
Thank you one more time my friend!!
