[Q] Executing Widgets in E-Robot - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know if it is possible to run a widget from an E-Robot script? If so, how?
It is easy to select an application to run, but widgets don't show up in that dialog.
Thanks, in advance

I wanted the same thing but never found how. I don't think it's possible.

flyscreen has a calendar widget? i think
what about using Widget Locker?
not smooth as i want. sometimes u can still see original lock screen :<
widgetlocker with smoothcalender widget (Y)
I skipped the installation of widgetlocker because it asked for permission to use the phone... it seems weird... What phone calls should make such an application?
Any other app does the same?
tnx

All apps that support older Android devices older than 1.6 automatically have this permission, and even those not meant for devices that old often still have it, usually because developers didn't know or were lazy - here's more information

Because you can add shortcuts to the screen to make calls I believe. The app itself obviously isn't making any calls.
WidgetLocker + Android Agenda Widget is my favorite.

yeah this is what i'd do also.
Another vote for Widget Locker. I use that with Pure Calendar widget to get my appointments on the lock screen.
can i use WL for my mytouch3g andriod 1.6?i dont want to root my phone,.
You don't need to be rooted to run WidgetLocker. I'm using it on an unrooted Evo with the pure calendar agenda widget.
A new widget came out called calendr that is pretty sweet. On the clean though if you like that type of thing.

Is there any way to disable weather wallpaper? (CDMA Hero Fresh 2.1.2)

I'm just trying to find a way to disable the weather wallpaper so my live wallpaper stays on after I unlock if I don't move the screen.
I know 1.5 didn't have it, so there must be some way to disable both it and the call to it, so it's like it was never there to begin with.
I searched, but came up with nothing I could use. I'm not sure entirely how it works, but there should be a line you can comment out somewhere or something.

If u mean the Weather Animation after unlocking the screen there is a option at the Weather Application.
I can't seem to find the option to shut it off in there anywhere. All I have is Update Automatically, Update Frequency, and Temperature Scale, and nothing else. ; ;
Am I looking in the wrong place for it or something?

remove the widget then when you go to readd it, it will prompt you for animation after you select a city.

Hehe... Mine doesn't seem to want to cooperate. When I remove it and add it again, it doesn't ask for anything, it just GPSs my current location.
I tried the other two smaller widgets too, the ones that do ask for your location, but nothing ever came up about being able to disable the weather wallpaper.
This is pretty frustrating. lol It should be such an easy task. I mean really, am I missing something? All I wanna do is shut it off, even if I need to do a little programming to do it.

i remember there was a select location option and then the next screen asking for weather animations
i'm running AOSP now so i can't replicate and help you buddy
but keep looking
maybe download a different clock?
What is AOSP? I know I should probably know. lol

Thx!
Try either Quick Settings or MySettings from the Android Market, both free.

Folders and widgets

Hey... this is a pretty basic question... but is there any way to add a widget into a folder?
I want to have my music control widgets in a folder, not directly on the home screen. Don't think it's possible... but figured I'd check. Thanks!

You can use apps to accomplish this, like:
Widget Folder,
SwipePad with the WidgetPad add-on,
or Wave Launcher.
Thank you!

how can I launch "clock" ?

Sorry for a noob question. How can I launch clock in this device?
The best way is to have a widget on your home screen, that way it will be available all the time. You can also tap the all app icon and launch it from the app drawer.

Yes, we have widget for clock, but I mean here I want to see application "clock" listed in application list! Because in some other applications I want to link to "clock" when I touch somewhere on.
Are you saying you want to share something with Clock? I don´t think sharing is possible with the Clock app. If you want to join something, for examle an event, in another app to launch clock then Tasker is your best bet.

I want to explain such as: I have an app, and some functions in the app, one of them is touch to launch app, when I touch on the button, the list of all apps appear but not the "clock"!
Then it can't launch the clock....
Can't launch what isn't there.
Clock is a system app so it may be you require root access to get to it, however it seems the app you are using to start these other apps may not see the system apps so you still won't get it...
