[HELP] Can someone identify this connector? - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought Moto G on the ebay.co.uk. It came with this connector that I saw for the first time. It has some kind of a notch in the top middle and there is no space between pins and bottom of plug. Can someone identify it for me. I searched all over Google and couldn't find it. I must buy usb cable, but don't know what to search for... Thanks!

It's supposed to be a regular micro USB, and yours looks identical to mine except for what looks like a round object above the pins - is something stuck in there?

Obviously all connectors are the same, micro USB.
That one has clearly a piece of plastic stuck and pressing the pins up.

It was a piece of plastic pushing the whole connector down. I got afraid that it was some kind of non-standard connector . Removed it and it is OK. Thanks everyone for help.

Probably the previous owner noticed that the connector wouldn't fit and sold it because he thought the phone was useless?

No, it was BNIB. Must be something in the production. I hope that that piece of plastic won't be missed somewhere..

[Q] Fake Chinese HTC Charger?

Hi,
I wanted to share a photo of probably fake HTC charger:

Could anyone show me how original looks like ? Because this one above makes really nasty touch screen interference on my i9000
I too have got this charger, I got it from amazon and this is I think the 4th item I have got from them that I suspect to be counterfeit. Mine gets really hot and smells like the components are burning inside. I do have a original charger the same style but I'm reluctant to take it apart, I can confirm that it is very different looking, also the plug section should twist to come of and be replaced by euro or US adapers I suspect. I also get unresponsive touch screen while charging too.
Sorry for posting in such an old thread. I have a very similar fake charger. Mine was marked "For Samsung", despite being an imitation of an HTC charger. I'm also having problems with it (calls end unexpectedly while charging and music stops playing after a few seconds).
Can you show the rear of your charger's PCB, please?
Thanks in advance.

Charging Wire or Tablet build error

I exchanged my prime for an Infinity and I noticed something that could be either a minor annoyance or a major build issue. As you know the charging wire has ASUS and a small triangle on it so you know which side is up when you plug the tablet in. On mine the label is on the wrong side; OR they installed the charging piece in the tablet upside down. If the tablet is built wrong then I can never use a dock so I would need to exchange the tablet.
Can someone look at their charging port and cable and compare to the attached pics and tell me which one is messed up. I think the wire is just labelled on the wrong side.

Looking at your images and at my tablet, and I have the dock as well. yours is okay, it seems they have just put the sticker on the wrong side of your plug.

[Q] Moto G logic board - connectors ??

Hi Everyone,
Seeking some info/advice from those who have tinkered with / taken apart the Moto G already

What are these ( circled on my image ) on the board?
Are these by any chance little caps protecting unused connectors?
or simply they are just dummy/unused placeholders?
Thanks a lot

After googling a lot, now I know that the right hand one is not a connector as that is the main switch for the phone.
The left one is still a mistery. What I've meant is the white square with the red X-s on.
Is this you mean to be battery pins?
Thanks
Aren't those water ingress markers?

Looking for a dock with reverse micro usb for N9

Hi all,
I'm looking for a dock for my Nexus 9. Ideally, I want something that will not make it top heavy, that by giving it a little tap on top will make it fall. I also would like a integrated reversible charger so I can put my Nexus 9 on the dock facing me. I would settle for just a dock with no USB but enough space between the port and bottom so I can fit the USB cable without it bent bent 90 degrees. I looked around the forum and saw only 1 thread about docks, and all of them were not good enough, either because they had an attached USB cable that had the port facing the wrong way, or they were luxury docks made out of aircraft grade aluminum and no space for USB cable.
I'm sure somebody has looked for this, if you know any products that fit my need, please post links.
Right now i'm using this metal this i've had for years, it works but there is not enough space for my cable

Something like this would be perfect if it were just a little bit wider. It seems to me like the center of gravity would be quite high and the tablet might fall over

Battery swap physical issue

Hey guys I did a battery swap on my tablet which fixed the reboot issue but I managed to screw up my 4g. Specifically the tablet will not recognize a sim card inside despite rebooting, as well as resetting the card. I did notice upon inspection the black part at the top seems to have fell off. Is this repairable? Or did I brick my tablet

I'm not really sure what this part is called so I added a picture, it's right above/perpendicular to where the camera would be on the top of the tablet, and its near a microphone
If your SIM card had worked before you did the battery replacement, probably your USB flex or SIM/SD flex is not fully connected. Try to disconnect and reconnect all the flex cables, they are serial connections from Home button, sim/sd, usb port to mainboard. If the SIM slot is defective, you can buy a new one, it costs only $6 to $10, depending where you buy.

The small black plastic at the center of LCD frame is IR cover, you can put it back to the frame but the back cover of the tablet has to remove first.
