Hi,
I wanted to share a photo of probably fake HTC charger:

Could anyone show me how original looks like ? Because this one above makes really nasty touch screen interference on my i9000
I too have got this charger, I got it from amazon and this is I think the 4th item I have got from them that I suspect to be counterfeit. Mine gets really hot and smells like the components are burning inside. I do have a original charger the same style but I'm reluctant to take it apart, I can confirm that it is very different looking, also the plug section should twist to come of and be replaced by euro or US adapers I suspect. I also get unresponsive touch screen while charging too.
Sorry for posting in such an old thread. I have a very similar fake charger. Mine was marked "For Samsung", despite being an imitation of an HTC charger. I'm also having problems with it (calls end unexpectedly while charging and music stops playing after a few seconds).
Can you show the rear of your charger's PCB, please?
Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
Just a small discovery ; or maybe someone had already realised it !!http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/eek.gif
Anyway, posting for all to benefit.
I was looking to buy another charger for travelling and discovered that you can actually fit the mini-USD charger (those meant for Motorola) to the HTC !! There is no resistance and seems to plug and fit well too !!
(think those chinese made phones are also using mini-USD charger, so there is plenty in the market... not just Motorola.)
Had tried charging the HTC Diamond with Motorola charger and also used the Motorola data cable with success too !!
Anyway hope it helps save some cost.
PS : HTC charger are too expensive anyway.

Can some one try the earphone with mini-USB and see if it works too ?http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
You might want to search before starting new threads. And you probably can find a lot of info in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413122

Word of warning/advice... Don't leave it out in the rain, I know this from experience.
waterproof
i really don't think they are waterproof, but they have a waterproof mp3 player eheheh

groove3x: How much time it needs to fully charge your device? Because I have quite bad experience with solar chargers. They need to be on direct sun (every cloud really lengthen charging time) and for example my Vox needed about 9 hours to charge.
so i can charge overnight but use Kaloer Clock? leaving it upright wouldn't look as nice
If it had some kind of stand and was slanted back a bit and had no finger prints it would look nice standing up
There's a desk holder, what can hold phones like that.
it's called Desk Genie Non-Slip Charging Desk Stand
Check it out here :

I don't think there's a special dock for the Desire, because the USB connector is on the bottom, not on the side like on the moto droid...
will check that out, ta
just want to either have kaoler clock going, or maybe that fishy background with some ocean sounds from white noise while asleep
My friend has a similar dock to the above shown one, its not too bad but I remember he told me that he has to keep cleaning it every week otherwise the dust/dirt that collects on it will reduce the "non-slippiness" and basically the phone will slide off it.
Or maybe this one off the bay for £10.50? Not tried it myself am wondering which one to buy....

Have you tried using a Crabble stand
I find it really useful and it does the job fine
Hi All,
I have a Touch HD and I am looking at replacing my battery.
I have noticed that the genuine HTC 1350mV part no: 35H00120-01M has 2 metal contacts on the top right and left corners of the flat side of the battery.

All the non-genuine batteries do not have these 2 metal 'contacts' on the flat side of the battery.
When I put a multimeter across them, it shows that they are connected to each other, but not connected to the actual battery terminals. By that I mean, there is no voltage drop when I connect one of these terminals to any one of the main power terminals of the battery.
I have looked at the HTC_Blackstone_Service_Manual and it shows that these contacts connect to metal plate. This plate could be a shield or a heat sink for the battery.
Can anyone advise me just what are these 2 contacts used for?
Are they necessary?
Will my reception suffer?
If all 3rd party batteries don't come with these, can I assume they are not needed?
If they are not needed, then why did HTC see fit to have them in place?
Thank you in advance.
David
I exchanged my prime for an Infinity and I noticed something that could be either a minor annoyance or a major build issue. As you know the charging wire has ASUS and a small triangle on it so you know which side is up when you plug the tablet in. On mine the label is on the wrong side; OR they installed the charging piece in the tablet upside down. If the tablet is built wrong then I can never use a dock so I would need to exchange the tablet.
Can someone look at their charging port and cable and compare to the attached pics and tell me which one is messed up. I think the wire is just labelled on the wrong side.

Looking at your images and at my tablet, and I have the dock as well. yours is okay, it seems they have just put the sticker on the wrong side of your plug.
