[Q] [Request] Nexus 10 Kitkat Boot Animation - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been meddling with a few builds to try to make CM look and run like a Google Edition as possible for my personal pleasure [Perhaps for distribution as a Google pack completely separate for copyright reasons] . For most of it, I have done well save for the boot animation, where I am hitting a wall on.
Has anyone found a way to port the Nexus 10 Kitkat Boot Animation to the Note 10.1? Thanks.

[Q] Android Wallpaper Gallery

Hi Guys,
I'm new here and this is my first post here, so be gentle with me.
I have a T-Mobile Pulse (Huawei U8220) that is running my own custom rom called J-MOD which is based on Android 2.1. The rom is working great but I want to try and solve a little issue that is niggling at me, it's not a show stopper nor does it cause any trouble etc...
When I open the wallpaper gallery I get 3 wallpapers and 11 empty slots, I am trying to add 2 more wallpapers to the gallery and remove the remaining empty slots, but I'm struggling to achieve this.
My ROM uses a themed version the Stock Android Launcher, I've decompiled the launcher.apk using APKTOOL and modified some XML files and tried to recompile the APK but I get loads of errors when I do this.
Do any of you guys know how to do this? Any pointers you can give me?

[ROM][PORT]★ Note 4 Mini-S6 10.0 KitKat 4.4.2 custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy K Zoom

[ROM][PORT]★ Note 4 Mini-S6 10.0 KitKat 4.4.2 custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy K Zoom
Dear all,
★ Note 4 Mini Rom★ Welcome, this is a custom rom developed by @bulldog74ts, @Gabri™ and @Amit.A. I've ported this ROM to the K-Zoom (SM-C115).
The rom Note 4 Mini, will give your device, an experience of real use of Galaxy S6, thanks to the porting of some functions only, only available on Galaxy S5 and Note 4 and Galaxy S6.
Neither we, neither xda are not responsible for any damage to your device!
To view information about the ROM please go to the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-neo/development/rom-note-4-mini-t2982138
I've done some modifications to this ROM to make it work on K zoom.
This ROM uses the kernel from @timduru which can be found here: https://github.com/timduru/kzoom-katkernel
Here is his thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797146
I've got permission from @Gabri™ to publish this ROM!
This ONLY works with following kernel: [Galaxy K Zoom] [Root] [Kernel] Stock kernel with permanent autoroot
Installation:
1. You need to have battery 50% loaded MINIMUM!! (This allows for a comfortable margin of something fails!)
2. Flash following kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797146
3. Flash CWM recovery: http://downloads.timduru.org/android/kzoom/misc/Tim_KZoom_CWM-6.0.5.0_001.tar.md5
4. Place the ZIP file on the external SD card.
5. Boot into recovery.
5a. Turn off phone.
5b. Hold the power, vol up and home keys together.
5c. If you see Galaxy logo, release the power key.
5d. If you are in recovery, good! If you get black screen, repeat these steps.
6. Do a Backup of your K zoom!
7. Full wipe data! (Do this twice to be sure).
8. Install the zip file from external SD card.
9. During the 1st startup, the ROM will boot twice, just be patient!
10. For really cool theme install following APK: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/themes-apps/s6-theme-4-4-2launcher-s5-t3187450 And select it from Settings -> Themes
11. Enjoy!!

Thank you brother.
XDA is solving the issue for not displaying this thread in the K Zoom forum.
For the ROM: you guys mentioned issues with this ROM in the other thread.
Could you please also post it here for the other readers and also so I can reply?
No problems for me as of yet
I like a stripped no garbage bare ROM though..not to many peoples liking but so great for me
Thanks again
The thread is in good place now, thankfully.
I think I'm going to create a second ROM based on my ROM above. This will be the slim version, with all Samsung and Google crap removed.
About the Android 5 port: I tried to port a Android 5 ROM from the Samsung Galaxy Alpha phone. This without success.
In fact: Trying to modify the kernel: I've ruined my efs partition and cannot make calls anymore. (Lost IMEI number).
You can come personally and kick my ass if you want , as I do not have a backup.
I will have to send my phone under warranty for repair but it can take weeks to get it back.
I the meantime I can work on this ROM but all will be untested till I get my phone back, therefore I will not make any major changes.

I still can test my ROM because the phone still boots, only issues I have is that I cannot make any calls.
Do you have an overview of what you have removed and added exactly?
I'm currently in the process of making a slim version which is already half the size of my current ROM, but I did not test this yet.

I've uploaded a slim version. Please see start post.

Tried this morning quick install of slim, stayed on Samsung logo ..tried again just now, reverted back to full note 4 ROM port and attempted again..same,stays on logo forever
Anyone else tried the slim version with success?
OK, I removed the slim version for now and created a new one.
This time it boots The ZIP is 636 MB in size.
I will try to upload it tomorrow in the evening when this version is OK.
The old slim version was 46 % of the original ROM.
The current slim version is 60 % of the original ROM.
This ROM will work on 3G version of K-Zoom i.e SM-C111.....?? Anyone working on Lolipop ?
Thanks
I'm unsure if it works for that device, I cannot test that. But please try. Make a backup first!
About lollipop: I will try that later. I did already before but ruined my efs partition.
k...I will do that tomorrow....!! (Y)

When you say, "warning texts are invisible", what do you mean by that? Also how frequent are the reboots. my C-111 locks up frequently on me anyway so maybe it's worth it for the presumed performance boost?

Downgrade A7 (A750GN)

3 years ago somebody downgraded somebody I met at the internet successful my Samsung J5 to Android 5.
Now I think about the possibility to downgrade my Samsung A7 (A750GN) to Android 4.
Would it be possible?
In know with such a questions a lot of people want to know why.
It's simple.
I love how 4 looks.
I could still enjoy 5 if I have too.
And Android is gone the same negative way like Microsoft with Windows 10.
Every new Android Version has more and more rubbish included I don't use and I don't want,
Today is (for me) my Android Version a overloaded fat elephant with so many bad functions I can't turn off.
I would like to have a "Android Lite" and I would like to have a Android that looks like 4 or 5.
But would it be possible?
I have never ever done something like this for myself.
That last time with my J5 somebody installed a remote control on my laptop and I plugged in my mobile and this guy has done everything remote controlled.
I have still to today no idea who he was and from where he was.
But it worked fine.
He downgraded my J5 to Android 5 and he changed something in such a way the mobile never ask for a update and when I try to force a update I get the wrong answer the newest update in installed.
Absolute great.
That is what I'm looking for with my A7.
Any ideas?
It is NOT possible to downgrade your A7 to android 5.
When a new phone comes out , for example the A7 2018 , it was launched with android 8.
It can not be downgraded to any version below the version it came out with.
Even after updating from android 8 to the latest android 10 , i don't think it is possible to even downgrade to android 8 again (because samsung updates, patch your phone with the new update.)
Galaxy J5 was released with android 5 touchwiz, the android 5 system customized by Samsung.
The person who was connected to your computer has installed a custom rom (probably an AOSP rom , as you described being a "lite version".)
AOSP roms are roms without the Samsung add-ons and customizations , created by developers here on XDA.
For the moment , an AOSP android 10 for A7 2018 is not available , but there is another way to get a "lite " version of android 10 on your device.
As it needs a lot of reading and understanding on android development, i do not sugges you doing so .
It is called GSI and you can find by reading in the correct thread , for example :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a7/help/how-to-install-gsi-samsung-galaxy-a7-t4165617
Please , be aware that you might brick your device if you decide to experiment with its system.
Hope this helps you.

Google ROM AOSP Development Thread for Kurio Xtreme Gen 1

This thread involves developing a Google AOSP ROM to be compiled for compatibility for the Kurio Xtreme 1st Generation. Anyone is welcome to have any ideas on helping me with making this type of Android ROM as long as it relates the the Kurio Xtreme 1st Generation, and no other Android Device.
Hi, I'm new here. I am planning on making an Android ROM running off of the Kurio Xtreme, and I am looking for experienced Android ROM developers' help, in order to get every part of the ROM as stable as it can.
ROM we are building for:
Device Name | Codename | Model ID
----------------------------------------------------------
Kurio Xtreme | g03k | C14100
Here is a picture of the device attached:
I hope this will help you.
I have a Kurio C14100 too.

Reverb, yes I would also need a rom for the Kurio c14100. Since I have no idea myself, it would be good if you take over that. I backuped the entire stock rom from the Kurio. Therefore, there should be no problems with rebuilding.
Thanks, very much _teckiii_, although I'd appreciate it if you got me the link for the ROM, we have a lot of work-in-progress mods to do with this ROM of yours.
Also, do you know if there is a way we can modify the system UI navbar to look similar to the one with PrimeOS?
